Arundhati,

Why do we take it out on the person closest to us?
Well, there are many reasons.
First, it often appears to us that it is the other person's fault because they are here while we are feeling upset in some way. Second, it is much easier to place blame outside, onto someone else, than to admit the truth about our own fears, insecurities, failings and inadequacies. And third, when we live in close quarters with someone else, we can easily forget their good qualities and become focused on the many small things about them that bother us.

Relationships are such a fertile ground for learning how to love and accepting our own self for who we are.

Thanks for you insightful comments.
