Early this morning, I dreamed that I was riding down the highway on a motorcycle with no lights at night. I didn't know if it meant I was in another zone or I was about to face a new set of challenges. I rather look toward the new challenges. It is going to be a powerful new challenge to take on the issues of changing my nutritional habits, but I am geared up and ready to go. One giant step for Deborah will not be too hard to do. I'm ready to take on the challenge. Do you have any health challenges? It's probably time to give yourself a check-up from the fork and spoon up. We baby boomers are predicted to be here awhile so let's get serious about our health. If you are facing any of these issues, give me a holler, and we can compare notes. Of course my "Inspiration in Action" has taken on a new view. http://www.braveheartwomen.com/ Look forward to hearing from you. Deborah Akridge dejahealth@bellsouth.net

I know that God loves me, but I had many issues about loving myself. My self-criticisms resulted in an unsuccessful marriage, an enormous weight gain, foolish spending on get rich quick schemes, and every MLM that portrayed some kind of financial hope. After spending more than half of a century perfecting my inferiority complex, which led to a brilliant lifestyle of feeling rejected, using sarcasms as a crutch in my defenses—I discovered an unfamiliar quote: “It’s Easier Done Than Said.” That powerful phrase brought me to the BraveHeart Women Global Community. I had lost enough time in desperation and was eager to be inspired. The BraveHeart Women Global Community is a powerful inspired organization of individuals, creating a learning arena that has gain respect from our families, associates, future business partners, and especially each other. I have been inspired to return to school for my Masters Degree, and I am schedule to graduate in June of this year as a 58 years old Baby Boomer. My successful colleagues may not all have earned fame, but their hearts are true, and we continually inspire one another. I soon learned that “quality of life” means a well-balanced way of living. My spiritual, emotional, and physical well-being, and especially a healthy upgrade of self-esteem, have changed my desperation to inspiration. Join me as I explore new routes to a healthy lifestyle, and let's share ideas together and tune in tomorrow for my weekend update of “keeping the pounds released.” Deborah Akridge (Deja)

Hi my friends! I say release scale because I am losing emotional weight and the pounds are dropping. I am so glad that I purchase a Curves Digital Weight Tracker Scale from Avon. When you get up to 10 miles a day on your stationary bike, you at least want to see something drop from your non bikini size belly. I now have a scale that allows you to see even 1/10 of a pound gone. And that's about all I lost this week-end, but at least I didn't gain any more. Oh come on now, you know how those after church mouth watering southern cooking dinners will tempt you. I was so glad to let that be my first and last meal yesterday after a great inspirational message. Right now I need all the faith I can get. So hang with me because next Sunday's blog (Of couse I will post it before I leave for church services) will show you the real me and I mean the real me before I start a brand new journey. Join My "New You Journey" "Ready to take a rideeeeee......You are invited to join me on my "New You Journey" to start February 1, 2009 with the unveiling of the "old me (Full length photo and the full view of my weight on a scale) and my old journey of my past nutritional disaster." In other words as I heard someone say, "I once lived to eat, now I will eat to live." Don't miss any of these thrilling episodes of "Yes I Can Create A Change." Be there for the video unveiling. No need to have them both in operation. I have been wondering how I managed to fall into this category when I was on so many diets. After receiving this e-mail from The People's Chemist ( http://www.thepeopleschemist.com/ )—I thought I would be kind enough to share it with you. Friend, My body was expanding with fat right before my wife's eyes. And she made it a point to tell me - as nice as she could, "You're getting round." This occurred during the busy times in my life when I was working as a drug chemist. I often ate low calorie sport foods and meal-replacement shakes thinking that I could stay slim and not live in the gym. I learned the hard way that "Eating and drinking low calorie products makes people fat (round)." This lesson inflated me to 30% body fat. Low calorie foods are loaded with fat fertilizing sugar. They cause a sharp rise in the fat storing hormone insulin. A better choice would be grass fed beef, seeds, nuts or avocados. Despite having a higher calorie content they do not cause the insulin spike. Therefore, you are better suited to burn calories via thermogenesis - the conversion of fat to heat. Today, I avoid things that taste sweet (I try to drink only dry wine) and eat more calories from real food. If it comes from a box or window, I don't eat it - regardless of how little calories it might have. Low calorie food and soda is a scam. Those who adhere to it will get fat and eventually end up with diabetes. Forward this to your friends, The People's Chemist http://www.thepeopleschemist.com/ I could identify with this because as a formal nurse that worked long hours, I drank many meal replacements, ate low calorie products, and avoided exercise at all costs. I always said pushing a medicine cart down the hallway was enough exercise for me. How wrong I was! Well my friends, enjoy this tip for those who were not aware of this information, and to all—please share it with others. Until we meet again. Deborah Akridge (Deja)

For the past 48 hours the tooth fairy received one victory and was looking for more to come. The dentist tried to convince me of several extractions…but I was determined to make sure if the dentist was so anxious to get to the root of the problem then it was certainly time for me to get to the root of my challenges and leave my comfort zone to avoid continuous visits from the tooth fairy. In other words years of poor eating habits = years of bad teeth. My comfort zone consists of sitting in my very comfortable office chair that incidentally I purchased six years ago at an office auction for $10. They don’t make them like that anymore. Okay back to the journey…I decided to get up this morning and walk outside the front door and into a different neighborhood and I had so much fun that I videoed myself walking…you can see it in a minute…and when I returned home I rode my bike for 5 miles. I feel great!!! Of course I have a new motto now…NO MORE COMFORT ZONE!!! I know that a person can be whatever they want to be if they believe enough regardless of the challenges that they might face. You can be born in any class or culture and progress or regress. I don’t believe that there are any more excuses. I believe about 2 million people less or more dismissed those challenges on January 20, 2009 no matter their culture. Now it is no longer up to your heritage but your determination to succeed. Success for the baby boomers attitude is already turning future economics and lifestyles around with their beliefs that age, culture, and even personality are mere stepping-stones and no longer obstacles in the way. You can accumulate disadvantages by someone else viewpoints and create advantages. I have had more positive things to happen for me as an older person because I am letting go of past myths that my background would sink me. Failures are only failures if you don’t learn from them. As I quote a very dear friend of mine: “My future is no longer an extension of the past. I now ask to be led toward a destiny that outshines my history.” ~Ellie Drake Welcome BraveHeart Women...it's great to be here Deborah Akridge (Deja) Join our community as we explore new routes to a healthy lifestyle, and let's share ideas together The New You Community

You got to see the good in every situation!!! That is if you choose to have enjoyment produced in a healthier and prosperous lifestyle. If you want to have more energy...just remember that it takes 37 muscles to frown and only 22 muscles to smile. Today's Lesson in Ease: I no longer look for Joy to come from accomplishing external results. Joy comes from within. I am in "In Joy" while I take daily actions. My "In Joy" actions will bring about effortless results. ~Ellie Drake Click on to remember this smile versus frown Deborah Akridge (Deja) http://www.nomorepityparties.com/
