I don't know about you, but once in a while I get mentally and emotionally hit, by what feels like a 2 x 4 ... I get to a point where Oh My God! - I finally have more clarity. This morning was like that ...What I thought was going to be a short conversation went on for a quite a while... I went from feeling like I was not good enough, to feeling vulnerable, to feeling really grateful, and then having this new perception of how I still am sometimes. All good and too much to put into words... so I'll spare you the details. Bottom line is... that having been a "good student", a so called polite and nice individual all of my life, falsely believing from a young age that others knew more than I could possibly know about myself... brought me to the place of listening to others too well. My gift of being a good listener actually backfired in many ways... I frequently gave my own power away rather than risking being vulnerable and being willing to let myself hang out to dry...( I think that is the expression in English So I was trusting others more than trusting myself, and putting off in some instances - Becoming my own wizard...and living my life from that space. So questions for you: Are you falling in the same trap - that of listening to others too much and believing they know more than you, about what is good for you? Have you actually let go of being responsible for yourself, by not getting to know your true self? In my own experience - doing the self growth, being willing to slow down, observe, learn, possibly experience a setback, and decide for myself what is right for me - although it might be uncomfortable and difficult, - it is long term, a lot less of a struggle and you will be doing what is right for you. So go ahead and learn to Become your own wizard! Lynette Chartier Manifesting Formula

The Big 50 is Here… Yep, that is right, 50 years young today! Where has the time gone? Yet the pictures and the photo albums are proof positive that it all took place - at least in my mind… Kidding aside, I love this new sign post. I can evaluate where I have been, take the gifts in the lessons, and move forward from that space. I have raised 2 fabulous young men, shared wonderful times with their father, had a rewarding career in education, and in recent years discovered my passion and purpose. Now armed with a solid self esteem, increased self confidence, new abilities, an exciting vision, and surrounded by wonderful people and love … I am more excited than ever about the possibilities and what lies ahead. So what is age? How can it be measured? Are we measuring the right things? Rather than looking at time on a calendar.. I believe the condition of one's attitude, one's zest and desire for a fulfilling and satisfying life, the passion for what interests you, one's quest for growth are all much better indicators of one's true age. What is aging You? You may want to ask yourself: What am I not taking care of that could be aging me? Is it physical, mental, emotional, spiritual or even financial? If I must confess... I can forget to smell the roses, and make enough time for fun. Lack of fun, laughter and pure joy can age you quickly. Till next time Learn to Be Your Own Wizard, have a wonderful start to your day, and I am off to have a great start to a brand new year. Lynette Chartier Manifesting Formula

"None of us is as smart as all of us." Ken Blanchard Why choose to be part of a team? Last time, we looked at the expanded definition of team. Today, let's look at the benefits of being part of a team. I for one could not be moving towards my desired life without all of the various team members I interact with. Even though, not all of these individuals are part of the same team, as I belong to a few "teams"... When I really understood from an experiential level rather than a head level the benefits of a team - I began to wonder why I had not participated in them earlier. I found I was able to tap into like minded people - I felt understood and encouraged. More importantly I was not alone. I was at the same time able to connect with folks who possessed different gifts and therefore when combining our talents together we could accomplish more. In this day and age where information doubles at an exponential rate, there is no way one can know it all. Learning together and from one another gives one an incredible amount of freedom. With a team it is much easier to be an active creator instead of a passive gatherer of information who is overwhelmed. Facing challenges with other team members, make them appear smaller and easier to handle. "It is literally true that you can succeed best and quickest by helping others to succeed." TEAM - "It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit." Harry S. Truman While discussing the concept of team with one of my own team members - we touched upon the characteristics that make for a good team member. It's one thing to one to gain value from being part of a team, however it is also very important to bring value to the team as well. So now let's see what we can Be and Do to add value to a team. Communicate effectively: It is important in order to accomplish a goal or a project to communicate well amongst each other. That includes being willing to share ideas and opinions. Also, to learn to ask good questions that can get folks to think out of the box and come up with new solutions. Asking though questions is not always comfortable but necessary to the growth of any team. Be open: Depending on the type and purpose of the chosen team, it is important to be open to receiving feedback on your ideas and grow to be comfortable with having others disagree with you. Not taking things personally will serve you well. Think of it as going forth in a sort of joyful vulnerability. "Individual commitment to a group effort - that is what makes a team work, a company work, a society work, a civilization work." Vince Lombardi Cooperate: It is vitally important to every team that the spirit of cooperation be felt. The whole purpose of a team is to leverage other people's talents, and ideas and together accomplish more. So if you are not willing to cooperate and go along with ideas and strategies other than your own, then you make want to reevaluate your participation in the team. Be solution focused: When a group comes together to get something done, the effectiveness of the team is greatly enhanced if personal egos can be left at the door. It is not a time to be focused solely on your perspective but rather be willing to hear and implement various tactics, in order to arrive at the desired solution. The end result is what is important. After the all that is the purpose of coming together. Be dependable: Being a team member and a valuable team player means others will come to depend on you for getting certain things done, or for bringing ideas and strategies forward. It will be important to you, to the others, and the success of the overall team to have its members do what they say will be done. We all know how frustrating it can be to be counting on someone for something and they do not come through. Being counted on may not always feel comfortable, however your sense of self esteem and self confidence will certainly be enhanced as you demonstrate to yourself, and to others that you are a person of your word. The list of qualities and characteristics of a valuable team player could go on at length. The most important characteristics may vary according to the purpose of the particular team. Tip: I recommend that you get in touch with your own values and your desires and be clear about these. In turn, this will help you choose more effectively the right team for you to participate in or on the other hand invite the right people to join you. What do you feel makes for a good team player? Are these economic times and the negative news getting to you? "When we long for life without difficulties, remind us that oaks grow strong in contrary winds and diamonds are made under pressure." uUnknown The best words I came across this past week were: "Rather than react and retreat, it is time to correct and continue." If we let ourselves go on automatic pilot these days, we will find ourselves caught in the mind set that many things are doomed, that there is little to look forward to - other than hard times, and that the worst is yet to come. I do not know about you my friend, but I did not sign up for that game - at least not consciously! We all know that during difficult times there are more opportunities than ever, and that it is precisely during challenges that many folks rise to their peak performance. However, you cannot do it if you are functioning on automatic pilot, and let yourself be carried by the tsunami of doom and gloom. It is during moments like what we are seeing in 2009 that we need to make conscious choices of what we want and where we will choose to go. During difficult times, people continue more than ever to do business with those they like and trust. Folks are willing to pay for a quality service or products, if it enhances their life and they like who they are doing business with. The first place to start is look at your habits and the habits of those around you. What are these habits telling you about where you and others are headed? Are the habits you observe and participate in empowering and life enhancing or are they getting you deeper in that zone of despair? The good news is that everything you need - the talent, the will, the determination, the courage, the confidence and so on - to create a better life for yourself lies within you. The hard news is that You must be the one to choose whether you will cultivate those talents and skills and whether You will look for opportunities to serve others. There is no lack of opportunities - very contrary to what I use to think - that could be a book on its own - we shall get to that later... As a matter of fact if you do not know how to find opportunities - give me a call at the number below and I can coach you through that. Allow me to leave you this thought my friend - we are no different than diamonds - it is from the pressure that we shine bright. Now trust yourself and create a fabulous day for you. Once again, I am so grateful that I am connected with this community. The valuable information, inspiration and practical ideas, are always coming forth ... and once again we have another beautiful gift from the BraveHeart Team... BraveHeartView . If you have not checked it out... you will want to do so very soon. BraveHeartView is a wonderful way to receive new information on very relevant topics of today. And we get to receive this information by taking just a few minutes of our time, and it is presented to us with various members speaking on the same topic. Bravo BraveHeart Team for bringing forth such a brilliant concept! Today, Lorrie shared some great insights about marketing to women. Simply knowing that 85% of the purchases are made by women... is another affirmation as to why we should feel freer to express our compassion, and authenticity, alongside our marketing message. I love the line... What works for women works for men in marketing. Ladies, we can save ourselves some time and energy. That is always good. I look forward to tomorrow's episode of BraveHeartView. In gratitude, Lynette http://www.formulatomanifest.com
