Dear BraveHearts, :-x

This morning I sent the following invitation to my Soul-Power Community. Couldn't resist sending it to you as it seems today is a day for DANCE! Having been a dancer with the Hartford Ballet Company, Modern Dance Troupe, I appreciate all forms of dance. Enjoy!

“Corroboree celebrates the spirit of global peace, love and our interconnection to one another as one humanity on this planet. It's about family. It's about you. Embracing unity in sound and soul, this song incorporates pop vocals, Latin and World style drumming, a tribal choir and didgeridoo. This song sends a message...it's time to change the world! Written by Tam Katzin and Bronwyn Edwards Cryer. This song is dedicated to . . . all those brave souls [BRAVEHEART souls] standing up to sing their own song and share their love for world peace.”

Click on the following link from YouTube:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZX10aWq9U8M

Stay with the song until the end - it builds! You cannot help but dance in celebration if you listen and move to this 6-minute song.

"Are you breathing, are you moving?
In time with the heartbeat of humanity?
Vibrant, precious, pulse of life
Revel in it!
CORROBOREE!

"Feel it
Believe it
Become it
Feel it
Lift your feet
Dance it
CORROBOREE!

Don't just sit there - get up and move your feet!
Invite your friends, your family, your pets!
or . . . put your headset on and dance in your chair . . .

DANCE IT! Have FUN with it!
CELEBRATE!

Tonight at the United Nations a concert will be performed for the 2009 Commemoration of the International Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Slavery and the Transatlantic Slave Trade. 'Breaking the Silence, Beating the Drum' is the message for the event.
20639821_30577621.un.jpg
The following words are taken from a speech given in 1908 by Henry Sipkins, to be read this evening during the concert by my friend Carl Lewis. "But may the long wished for time soon arrive when slavery of every species shall be destroyed . . . and all find protection under the fostering wing of Liberty."

This afternoon I will meet Carl and his Mom, Evelyn Lewis, at the United Nations. After the usual sound check in the General Assembly Hall where the concert will be held, we will have time for dinner, then back for 'Show Call'.

This will be an exciting day in many ways. Very few events are welcomed to perform in the General Assembly Hall at the United Nations. The evening performance will include singers, dancers, drummers and words from 'greats' like Whoopie Goldberg.

Happily looking forward to seeing my friends and to this historical performance. Will let you know more tomorrow!

Off to the United Nations!

'Breaking the Silence, Beating the Drum' was the message of a concert and cultural event held at the United Nations Wednesday, 25th March '09.

International artists and performers, including drummers and dancers from Cameroon, Gilberto Gil, Sarah Jones, Carl Lewis and Whoopi Goldberg performed before an audience of over 2,000 in the United Nations General Assembly Hall.

Click on the following link for more detailed information from YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E39fCHDkztA

This extraordinary event was held as a result of a United Nations General Assembly Resolution in order to educate future generations about the perils of slave trade, racism and prejudice.

The event was deeply moving, heart-wrenching yet a celebration of the victory of human aspiration and intention.

Being backstage with my friends, Carl Lewis and his Mom, Evelyn, and the other performers was fascinating.

We felt an incredible warmth of family feeling among the performers who represented many of the 192 Member States in the United Nations.

A full day, a heart-warming day, an historic day.

April Fools Day is celebrated all over the world with many variances. The day sees pranks and practical jokes played on friends, colleagues and family members with the intention of embarrassing anyone gullible enough to fall for the 'joke'.

Below are three of the most famous April Fools Day jokes played on the public:

In 1957 BBC showed the Swiss harvesting spaghetti from trees. People called BBC wanting to know how to grow such a tree. ?:|

In 1988 Burger King designed a burger for left-handed people with condiments slipping out of the right side. People actually ordered the left-handed burgers; others said they preferred the right-handed burgers. :O

In 1965 BBC conducted a test (Smell-o-vision) saying that they were sending odor over the airwaves. People called in reporting the success of the test. :^O

Wouldn't it be fun to act like a fool on April Fools Day? Webster Dictionary's definition of FOOL: "A man formerly kept in the household of a nobleman or king to entertain by joking and clowning." So to do silly things or play fun jokes is quite appropriate for today.

Go ahead, break your usual serious countenance! Be creative and play a trick, do silly things, 'fool' around. Celebrate the day!

Tell us about your favorite April Fools Day story!!! From your 'Fool' Friend - just for today,

Have you heard the story of the woman who planted 50,000 bulbs of daffodils, one daffodil at a time, beginning in 1958?
737532_daffodils.jpg

She is now surrounded by five acres (5 !) of beautiful daffodils that she lovingly and consistently planted over the years. Many visit her 'Daffodil Garden' each year.

The daffodil principle is one of moving toward our goals and dreams consistently, with loving care, one small step at a time. When we are in action over a period of time we begin to build momentum and we are able to see positive results, just as we are with our BraveHeart Women Global Community!

I now keep small and colorful pictures of daffodils in my office to remind me of the Daffodil Principle!

I have a 'Microsoft Powerpoint Slide Show' that beautifully tells and shows the story. Contact me and I can send it to you.

Enjoy a beautiful Daffodil Day!

Rhonda Byrne of The Secret, offers the following message: "Every good thought, every good word, every good emotion, and every act of kindness, is lifting the vibration of your being to new heights. And as you begin to raise your vibration, a new life and a new world will reveal itself to you. There is no limit to how high you can increase your vibration, because there is no limit to the good thoughts you can think, or the good words you can speak, or the acts of kindness that you can do. Other than transforming your own life through lifting your vibration, you lift others' lives too. The positive vibration of your energy emanates out like a stone thrown into water, touching our planet and every living thing on it. As you rise higher, you take the world with you. The Secret Team has created a gift for you. This clip features our beautiful Planet Earth. As you experience this clip you will emit positive forces of energy across Planet Earth that will reach every single living thing on it. You will lift yourself, and as you lift yourself, you lift the entire world. From The Secret to you, here is Planet Earth - our home." Enjoy! Rijuta Tooker Soul-Power Community

We only have 7 days to prepare for one of the most heartfelt and special days of the year - MOTHERS DAY! Why so special?

1133299_mum_2.jpg

Every one of us has a mother, whether she is still here with us or has passed on to 'the other side'.
Your mother accepted the role of bringing your soul into this lifetime.
For that alone, she deserves gratitude and honour in your heart-space.

How do you plan to show your gratitude to your Mom?
How do you plan to honour her for the awesome role she undertook?
Being a mother is one of the most responsible roles a woman can assume.
Much of the future of humanity lies in the hands and hearts of our MOTHERS, all over the world.

Mothers everywhere are deeply connected to each one of us.
Can we not show our gratitude and honour them next Sunday, even as we show gratitude and honour to our own Mother?

My intention of how I spend May 10th is to honour and offer gratitude to all mothers - as well as to my own Mom who is 'on the other side'!

Much love to all MOTHERS!

President Obama said of his mother, "She was the beating heart of the family." To continue in celebration of Mothers Day, this video reveals striking qualities of the mother of the President of the United States of America, Barack Obama. President Obama remembers his mothers "joy, her capacity for wonder; she was the kindest, most generous spirit I have ever known and what is best in me, I owe to her. "What I want is a family that transmits the values that I inherited . . .: hard work, honesty, self-reliance, a sense of empathy, respect for others, kindness, faith." A mother, now made famous, by the election of her son, reveals some of the 'stuff' that makes for good men. Rijuta Tooker Soul-Power Community

187602_woman_in_marble.jpgAlthough we honour our mothers on Mothers Day, the second Sunday in May in the USA, mothers everywhere occasionally enjoy a little inspiration to help fulfill their awesome role of motherhood.

Following are a few inspiring quotes. I hope you will feel that one or two inspire you! :)

1) My mother was the most beautiful woman I ever saw. All I am I owe to my mother. I attribute all my success in life to the moral, intellectual and physical education I received from her. - George Washington, U.S. President

2) Men are what their mothers made them. Ralph Waldo Emerson

3) The heart of a mother is a deep abyss at the bottom of which you will always find forgiveness. Honore de Balzac

4) My mother had a slender, small body, but a large heart - a heart so large that everybody's joys found welcome in it, and hospitable accommodation. -Mark Twain

5) No gift to your mother can ever equal her gift to you - life. Author Unknown

6)Mothers hold their children's hands for a short while, but their hearts forever. Author Unknown

7) She is my first, great love. She was a wonderful, rare woman - you do not know; as strong, and steadfast, and generous as the sun. She could be as swift as a white whiplash, and as kind and gentle as warm rain, and as steadfast as the irreducible earth beneath us.-D H Lawrence

8) When I stopped seeing my mother with the eyes of a child, I saw the woman who helped me give birth to myself.-Nancy Friday

9) The most important thing a father can do for his children is to love their mother. Author Unknown

10) Who is it that loves me and will love me for ever with an affection which no chance, no misery, no crime of mine can do away? It is you, my mother.-Thomas Carlyle

Have you a quote you would like to add?

What is the feminine principle?
Watch and listen to what a man has to say about this. James Arthur Ray of 'The Secret' fame and more, has produced a short Mothers Day video that helps answer this question: "As we near Mother's Day, now's the time to acknowledge that receptive, embracing and loving quality she nurtured in you."

In how many ways can you choose to feel good today? It is a holiday and you deserve to feel good all day. Explore all of your possibilities. Then go do them all. "Let that joyous child in you out in the open." Create a 'feel good day'. Make sure you are with some fun people - family or friends. Happy Memorial Day! :-D Rijuta Tooker Soul-Power Community

One of the most famous quotes by U Thant, former Burmese Secretary-General of the United Nations: "Every human being, of whatever origin, of whatever station, deserves respect. We must each respect others even as we respect ourselves."
1000061_love_earth_1.jpg
As a Buddhist, U Thant was keen on fostering the intellectual, moral and spiritual development of each human being. Isn't this what most women of high values are all about?

Yesterday, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon paid tribute to U Thant at a Commemoration Luncheon held at the UN Delegates Dining Room. I was fortunate to be in attendance to witness the historical event.

What occurred to me was that women have very much the same values as those lofty values of men of vision. What lofty values have you? Do you agree with U Thant?

I do!

Matthew Ashdown anad Brad Morris, known as 'The GratiDudes' started the Gratitude Dance out of moment of celebration at a coffee shop in Victoria, BC while writing their book on 'Manifesting Awesomeness'. With so many awesome women on our BraveHeart Women site, I thought it would be fun to all join in and do the Gratitude Dance together today. ;) The GratiDudes suggest to "be grateful and have some fun. Every morning when you wake up, follow this three step process: #1. Write down what you're grateful for at that moment. #2. Watch the Video #3. DO THE DANCE!" Enjoy a Gratitude Day. Do your Gratitude Dance! Young Children and Animals especially love to do the dance . . . ! Rijuta Tooker Soul Power Community
