A number of people have admired the name of my web site, Life Mastery Skills, and asked me to explain how I chose it.
The name has great significance for me. When I started my career in 1973, I had a firm conviction that if we were taught the skills we need to have a happy, fulfilled and peaceful life many of us would not suffer.
In 2006 I decided to offer the skills needed so we could lead a life whose foundation is based in trust in our inner wisdom. which is accessed through contemplation and which brings clarity fulfillment, peace and joy.
To create the practice that would bring the above results was my goal. My professional experience showed me that each of us knows the answers we need at any given moment. What we don’t know is the question that will lead us to the answers we need.
I chose to use the Universal Truths that had come through me at a three month meditation retreat in 1982. I developed exercises that gave you the questions you needed to ask yourself, to experience how a specific Universal Truth applied to your specific problem.
After working with many students and seeing the miraculous results of this methodology I decided to make this path available to all through the web.
Now I needed a name. As I pondered and prayed I realized I was offering a path to personal freedom by giving people the opportunity to master the skills they needed to create the life they desired.
Many people feel frustrated by the discrepancy between where they are at and where they want to be. They feel trapped by old patterns and habits that they want to brake and don’t feel they can. The exercises I have created go to the heart of the matter, which is, how am I creating what I don’t want and how could I do it differently?
It is not enough to affirm what we want, we must learn what is going on in our subconscious mind that is in conflict with what we are affirming. To do this takes skill. This is the skill you develop as you use Life Mastery Skills. As you learn how you are sabotaging yourself, you are also taught what actions you need to take to live your affirmations. THIS IS HOW YOU BECOME A MASTER.
It takes practice to master anything, whether it is a sport, a diet, an exercise program, the internet, meditation, contemplation, dancing, painting, or life skills. Anything worth while takes time, patience, practice and energy to manifest.
I invite you to join in on the exciting adventurous journey of your life, learning how to master our obstructions and live the life we are meant to live. I send you blessings of peace, joy and love, Sheila Radha

I was recently asked to be a guest speaker on The Hour of Power blog talk radio show. The topic to be covered was The Power of Self Acceptance. I felt the information was so valuable I wanted to share it with all of you. This will be the first of two articles on this subject. I was asked the following questions to clarify what self acceptance is and why it is important.
What is the difference between self awareness and self acceptance?
Self awareness is similar to a mirror that is reporting what is in front of it, it has no opinion about it, it isn’t right or wrong or good and bad, or ugly or pretty it just IS. This is nonjudgmental self awareness, which we all need to have. Self acceptance is learning to practice being with myself without negatively judging myself, but accepting this is what I feel right now, this is how I look right now, this is what I think right now, this is my hope right now, this is my vision right now. It is an active practice in which I shine the light of awareness on my hidden places to see what is there and experience what my resistance is to accepting where I am at. If you discover you are resistant to accept a characteristic you have, a feeling you are experiencing, or a thought or belief you have, ask yourself the following questions. Remember to stay with the first answer you give yourself. 1)What are the beliefs I have about this that make me not accept myself? 2)What are the ideals I have that cause me to reject myself for not living up to this ideal? 3) What are the life experiences that are the foundation of my self rejection? 4)What do I hope to gain from not accepting this characteristic (i.e. selfishness)? 5)åß What am I afraid will happen if I accept my selfishness?
Why is it important to accept myself just as I am?
Until we accept our selves exactly where we are, we are stuck; we can not change, we can not create the life we desire, we can not transform our understanding. Why is this? When I am not accepting myself I am in denial about where I am, from the place of denial there can be no movement, no awareness and no real action. Denial blocks truth, and makes us unconscious to what we are saying, feeling, thinking and doing. It is as if we put on a blind fold so we no longer can see where we are, or where we are going. We have fallen asleep to our predicament, in this state we are more likely to become victimized by others, replicate toxic relationships, and become depressed and anxious. Why? Because there is no where to go from self rejection. Once we put ourselves down for what we are feeling or thinking we shut down and turn off and become cynical and negative and judgmental. We are stuck in a defensive posture believing the inner judge and its judgments of us.
If you discover you are not accepting where you are, ask the questions that I gave you earlier and you will understand who is running your life and why you are unhappy with yourself.
I wish you a life filled with self acceptance and love, Sheila Radha
As I think about the holiday season and the tradition of gift giving, I contemplate the many gifts that life gives each of us. Often we take life’s gifts for granted and only when they are gone do we feel the value of the gift we have lost. Health is one such gift.
For the last two months I have been writing the things in my life I am grateful for and as I do this the list keeps growing. One reason this is happening is that I have begun to be grateful for everything I experience in my life whether I enjoy it or not. This is new for me. It all began when I started asking when I was in a challenging situation, what is the gift in this. This takes patience because the gift is not always immediately known.
In the past I would have asked, what is the lesson. Although I learned from this approach, I always felt I had done something wrong and needed to learn my lesson so I could be better. By asking what is the gift, I feel positive, I am affirming there are no mistakes, I am fine the way I am and every experience, regardless how challenging, has hidden in it a gift.
This new approach is showing me that life wants us to see the gifts and relax and know that we and everyone else is perfect the way we are. My judgmental mind does not like this approach, however, whenever I do this I feel great.
The gift I send to you this holiday season is the gift of self forgiveness and the peace which comes from self acceptance. I, also, offer you the opportunity to ask yourself when you are in a challenging situation, what is the gift. I know you will be delighted with the results.
I wish you a joyous, love filled holiday season.
I send you blessings of peace, joy and love, Radha
I wish each of you a happy, healthy and prosperous 2010. As I think about the New Year, I feel it is a time of renewal and new beginnings. What arises from within is the following question: What would I like to renew in the year? The answer is to fully embrace and accept all of myself, exactly as I am, which to me means total acceptance of all that is.
I know this is an inside job. Can I accept all of myself, which includes my capacities and my limitations, my positive attributes as well as my negative characteristics? Am I truly able to love myself unconditionally? Am I willing to allow myself to be, and trust that I am exactly who I am meant to be at all times?
My mind says, absolutely; my inner wisdom says, sometimes. As I explore my tendency to acknowledge and identify with the positive and deny and minimize the negative, I realize the challenge I have given myself, and I smile at the amazing possibility that total self love and self acceptance is within my grasp.
As I listen to my inner wisdom, I realize the difficultly of accepting my negativity is an old habit that has been reinforced by parents, teachers, society, religion and peers. We all want to own our positive attributes and cultivate them and develop them and are encouraged to do so. At first glance we would all agree there is no such support for owning our negativity.
As a seeker of truth and a teacher of self-awareness, I know many wise teachers from many traditions teach we must accept ourselves, exactly as we are, for evolution to happen. The challenge is to accept our negativity without acting it out on ourselves and others, rather than give in to the negativity or deny it exists.
I invite you to contemplate this challenge, and if it resonates with you please join me in accepting it as an opportunity to be the most we can be in 2010.
I send you blessings of peace, love and joy, Radha
This is the month that brings up the idea of love for many of us.
I have been contemplating the meaning of love, and would like to
share some of my thoughts with you.
There are many ways we experience love in our lives, usually we
think of and experience love in relation to a love object: such as;
love for a child, love for a husband or wife, love for our family,
love for a friend, love for our Self, love for God.
Many people associate love with other objects, love of fun, love
of food, love of laughter, love of dancing, love of creativity,
love of sex, love of romance, love for our career, love of animals,
love of nature. The list varies from person to person.
Some believe it is only worthwhile to love certain objects and
less worthy to love others. I see it differently.
The State of Love is filled with certain intrinsic attributes,
which are always positive, regardless of where the love is directed.
Some of these attributes are caring, joy, fulfillment, and kindness,
to name a few.
When we are in the State of Love we experience and benefit from the
qualities of that state, whether we share our love with another or
keep it inside. Often when we share our experience of love, it grows.
It is not what or whom we love, but rather that we love, that brings
its own reward.
Love can be expressed regardless of our circumstances; such as in an act
of kindness towards someone we know, or don't know, having compassion
for our limitations, smiling at a stranger, helping someone in need,
or accepting someone as they are, rather than rejecting them for not
living up to our expectations.
The State of Love is within each of us, whether we know it or not. Love
is a quality of Being. It is one of life's miracles because it heals the
one that feels it, the more we give love the more love we have. We never
deplete our love by giving it away, it is totally free, and always available.
I encourage you to be playful with love, see if you can give love to something
or someone every day and become aware of how this makes you feel.
Together we will grow in clarity,
Radha

Aloha, I am Radha Conrad the founder of the Sisterhood of Clarity.
Do you know how self-doubt impacts our energy and affects our ability to live a purposeful life?
This is what I have learned from exploring my self-doubt. Our minds are very clever and know exactly how to point out and focus on our limitations, this makes us doubt our worthiness to live a life of Purpose.
Personally, I have gotten many clarity snaps that have taught me the way my specific flavor of self-doubt works and it is, to question me like this:
Are you sure you even know what living a purposeful life means?
Who do you think you are to say you want to live a life of purpose?
What makes you think you deserve it?
We will do the Clarification Process, so you can learn what your specific flavor of self-doubt sounds like and how it impacts your ability to create and live a purposeful life. Remember, as long as you doubt yourself you will sabotage your ability to know and live your purpose.
The only way to dissolve the block of self-doubt is to have the clarity snaps that tell you specifically how you do this and what actions steps you need to take to create a purposeful life.
Now, let's do the Clarification Process to get the Clarity Snaps we need to create a Purposeful life.
Sit in a comfortable upright position, close your eyes, relax your face and your shoulders and listen to the sound of seven in breaths and seven out breaths. Bring the following question inside as you listen to the sound of your breathing. What is my specific flavor of self-doubt and what is one action step I need to take toward living a purposeful life? Trust your first answer and remember your answer may not come right away, it could arise when you are doing the dishes or watching T.V. TRUST THAT IT WILL COME!
Great!
I just got an amazing Clarity Snap, the reason we must take action is because our lack of action is the way our self-doubt stays alive and sabotages us.
Write your Clarity Snaps about your self-doubt and what action step you are going to take at the end of this video or whenever it arises.

Aloha, I’m Radha Conrad the founder of the Sisterhood of Clarity. Clarity reveals the truth of what is. This is not always the same as what we want to be true or wish to be true. CLARITY IS SEEING WITH OUR HEART'S WIDOM, WHICH HAPPENS WHEN OUR KNOWING ARISES FROM OUR TRUE NATURE INSTEAD OF OUR CONDITIONED NATURE.
Clarity shows us the truth of what is, without judgment. Intrinsic to clarity is acceptance of what is. We block our clarity to the degree we don't want to see the truth of what is. Whether we block our clarity by acting out or denying it, both will create confusion and indecision.
Why would we block our clarity, because we hold certain self-images that we find acceptable and some that we don't find acceptable. When clarity shows us we are acting in a negative way, that does not match the image we have of our selves, we deny it is true or blame others for causing us to be that way.
Our judgments about what clarity reveals to us will make us go into reactivity rather than take the appropriate action step. The appropriate action step is to allow what clarity shows us to "just be". To do this takes courage and commitment and compassion. We don't have to do anything about it, we don't have to change, or be better or different. We just need to see what is so with kindness and acceptance. When we are willing to hold the truth in this way, more truth is revealed to us.
I see one area that clarity reveals the truth for me is my tendency to worry. When I am able to acknowledge this without judgment and have compassion for myself the worry begins to dissolve and trust grows.
Now, let's do an exploration. Sit in a comfortable up right position, relax your shoulders and close your eyes.
Ask yourself what is one area in my life in which clarity shows me something about myself that is difficult for me to accept. As you take that question inside bring your focus to four in breathes and four out breathes.
Action Step: Allow whatever arises first, to be your answer, trust yourself and trust the process.
Action Step: Acknowledge aloud this area and say I accept that this is so right now. If you see you don't really accept this than ask yourself what am I afraid would happen if I accepted this about myself.
I invite you to share your experience and questions. I will be answering your questions. It is never to soon to dissolve the blocks that get in our way.
Together we are growing in clarity,

This is the year to answer the call to Clarity so you can ride the wave of the 2011 Consciousness Shift.
The momentum of the 2011's Consciousness Shift is HAPPENING NOW and you need to align yourselves with this energy and ride the wave of humanities consciousness shift. If you have the courage to be congruent
with this consciousness shift you will soar personally, professionally and globally.
To align yourselves with the 2011 Consciousness Shift you need to bring Clarity into your lives in five areas:
PROSPERITY, SELF IMAGE, RELATIONSHIPS, PURPOSE, AND COMMUNICATION.
WHY DO YOU NEED CLARITY IN ALL 5 AREAS?
When you lack clarity in one area, you lack clarity in all areas; whether or not you know it. Duality in one area will affect your results in all of the 5 areas and cause you to suffer, struggle and reject yourself unconsciously. Even though you may think you only need Clarity in 1 or 2 of these areas, you are wrong, because when you are in Clarity, you are in Clarity 100% in all 5 areas. Once you come into clarity in the area you know you are lacking clarity in, it will be like a catalyst for you to come into clarity in the others 4 areas, creating a clarity momentum. This momentum will allow you to get results effortlessly and with ease in all 5 areas.
Clarity is a vital part of the 2011 Consciousness Shift. We are experiencing this shift now and today I will share with you how you can align your energy with the 2011 consciousness shift even more, by focusing on how communication is the basis of clarity and how your inner communication determines your outer communication whether verbal or non-verbal and how this relates and affects your ability to create and maintain prosperity, positive personal and professional Relationships, your ideal Self-Image/Weight and live a life of Purpose.
Let's do a CLARIFICATION PROCESS so you can get the Clarity Snaps you need to learn more about how your inner communication blocks you and keeps you stuck in duality and self-rejection and suffering and affect your ability to create PROSPERITY, IDEAL SELF-IMAGE/WEIGHT, POSITIVE & SUPPORTIVE RELATIONSHIPS PERSONALLY OR PROFESSIONALLY and LIVING A LIFE OF PURPOSE
CLOSE YOUR EYES, SIT IN A COMFORTABLE UPRIGHT POSITION: Relax you shoulders, your eyes, soften your eyes, let you jaw gently drop open and soften your tongue, let the tip of your tongue gently touch the roof of your mouth.
Begin to listen to the sound of your in breath and out breath. Take this question inside:
HOW DOES MY INNER COMMUNICATION ABOUT WHO I AM AND WHAT I FEEL I DESERVE AFFECT MY ABILITY TO CREATE: CHOOSE THE AREA YOU WANT CLARITY IN. i.e. relationship, prosperity, etc. THAN: Listen to the sound of 7 in breaths and 7 out breaths.
GREAT! Now write the Clarity Snaps that arose for you.
The Clarity Snaps are guiding you and showing you how you block your greatness and your ability to create and maintain the life you desire. That is why clarity is a necessity not a luxury, because without clarity you struggle and suffer and the worst part is you don't even know you are suffering.
