For those who are feeling a bit scattered, light-headed, as if there is a disconnect with your daily efforts, or simply out of sorts and don't know why, perhaps you need to ground yourself.
Grounding oneself has to do with the base chakra, which serves to harmonize and balance us to the earth energies. As a yoga instructor and yoga therapist, I am always surprised to see how many persons need to ground themselves.
Last week I suggested two simple ways to my Soul-Power Community. Below are other suggestions. I invite you to experiment to see if one or more add to your life experience.
- Spend time out in nature - Surround yourself with nature in your home with houseplants, flowers, herbs and pictures or photos on the walls - Use the color red as an accent. This color is associated with the base chakra - Meditate and begin by visualizing yourself in a natural setting such as forest, seaside, shells, sand, rocks - Eat fresh vegetables and fruits - Massage with essential oils that come from trees whose roots go deep into the earth - Homemaking helps by caring for the home, the garden, the people in your life
The more grounded we are to the earth energies, the more easily we can access the higher vibrational energies.
Have a happy and grounded day! Rijuta Tooker Manifest your Soul-Power! Soul Power Community

Have you heard the story of a cocoon and the butterfly? It is thought to be an old Indian story, author unknown. As it is told, a man came across a cocoon and noticed an opening in the cocoon, so sat and watched for a few hours as the butterfly was attempting to free itself.
Feeling sorry for the butterfly, the man snipped open the cocoon in order to allow the butterfly to come out. His intentions were good, but the butterfly's wings were withered, it had no strength and so it could not fly.
The unfortunate man did not know that it was the way of nature to force the butterfly to work hard to free itself from its cocoon. By struggling to free itself, it would strengthen and develop its wings for flight.
What struggles are you having now in your journey? Could it be that you are strengthening yourself so that you will be powerful enough to free yourself? Go through what you must go through, learning, growing, strengthening, developing your inner power, your Soul-Power!
You can free yourself from whatever kind of 'cocoon' you have spun around yourself, slowly, unerringly, gracefully - just like a butterfly!
The video you are about to see is entitled: Peace in the Water - Visual Prayer for Whales and Dolphins
You can help to create a new world. We are all connected by the waters of the world. There are beings who live in the waters from whom we can learn much.
"It only takes a fraction of 1% of a population to tangibly shift the energy of a whole area . . . "What if… we could harness the energy of that fraction of 1% all around the world, and begin to consciously initiate change on planet earth — from the inside out? Peace in the Water co-founders Chip and Asheyana Richards (along with a rapidly growing “global POD”) believe that’s exactly why we’re here."
Today, in the United States and northward, we are celebrating the first day of summer. Today, June 21st, is the longest day of the year with approximately 14 l/2 hours of daylight, reason enough to celebrate!
To children, the first day of summer may mean more time to play, visit friends and go to the beach. To adults today may mean time to settle the final details for the family's summer vacation. To business owners it may mean a little more down time. To University students it may mean time to find a part-time job or time for easy travel or 'escape'.
For each person, the first day of summer has a unique and personal meaning. Regardless of how the first day of summer strikes each of you, there is usually a feeling of more freedom, more relaxation, more exploration, more travel, getting together more often with friends and More Time For FUN!!!
Let us utilize today and the rest of our summer days for more fun - in every way. We can begin today, Fathers Day, to experience more fun, more relaxation, more humor, more joy.
For myself, I intend to plan one special thing I will do each week to have fun and enjoy myself - either alone or with family and/or friends.
Do you ever go through a day without at least some kind of stress? Relieving stress always brings more peace and improves one's health. One of the easiest and quickest ways to relieve stress is by looking to nature and humming like a bumble bee. You need not be a good singer or know any songs; you don't even have to know how to carry a tune or stay 'on key'. All you really need to do is to remember to hum. This is a fantastic tool to keep in your stress-relieving tool box.
When you hum, don't even think about what tune or song you are humming. Let the sound come, allowing it to go where it wants. No one else will even know what you are doing. Humming makes a very soft vibration which is soothing to the body.
Practice humming with the 'm' sound until you sound just like a bumble bee. Feel your lips vibrating almost to a tickle. The 'n' or 'ng' sounds are also very effective and will be most beneficial for you. Whatever works best for you in the moment is the way to go.
Play with it. Have fun! Relieve stress immediately. When you hang on to stress, you cannot access your soul-power!
Those who deeply connect with the natural abundance we find in nature, are stimulating and enhancing many of their 53 natural senses. What does this mean on a daily basis? These are the people who more often wear a smile on their face and a song in their heart. When you go outdoors to get into your car, do you consciously feel the warm sun on your skin, the cool breeze on your brow or do you deny the pleasures of these sensations?
When we disconnect ourselves from nature and our 53 natural senses, we limit our life experience to a severe numbing down of sensation and emotion.
Cohen identified 53 natural senses that he and his students had experienced during 26 years living and teaching outdoors. Usually we think in terms of having 5 or 6 senses at our disposal. Consider some of the 53 senses listed by Cohen: - Sense of moods and identities attached to colors - Sense of temperature and temperature change - Awareness of pressure, particularly underground, underwater, and to wind and air - Appetite or hunger for food, water and air - Pain, external and internal. - Sense of play, sport, humor, pleasure and laughter - Sense of time - Aesthetic sense, including creativity and appreciation of beauty, music, literature, form, design and drama
By connecting as much and as often as possible with nature and utilizing our 53 senses, our lives are enhanced immensely.
We are conditioned to living indoors but when we visit natural areas outdoors, we re-awaken and re-vitalize our many natural senses. This brings a new awareness or new consciousness to our brain/being.
We feel re-connected to our larger self; we feel rejuvenated; we luxuriously 'swim' in the natural world with a new understanding of our world and of our life; we re-connect with our Soul-Power.
Last summer I had mostly tomato plants in my tiny garden (I say tiny because my Dad had a garden that required a tractor.) I also had peppers, cucumbers, eggplant, basil and parsley, but my tomatoes were most plentiful. I bought regular plants from the nursery and they tasted most delicious.
This year, while shopping at one of the huge organic markets, I noticed that they had a large outdoor section of organic plants. Needless to say, I stopped by and bought 5 or 6 organic tomatoes - nothing else. I felt they would be more healthful than the ones from the nursery. Since then we have had so much rain, that I did not plant any other vegetable. Two days ago I picked my first organic cherry tomatoes, ripe off of the vine. OMG~ they were so sweet and tasty. I didn't even wait until I got inside to wash them. I ate them right then and there. Pure delight! I had a 'living in the moment' experience.
Here I was, wondering what Mother Nature was up to with so much rain. But she gave me her most delicious bounty anyway! Today I got a few more, including a couple of larger tomatoes.
Why am I writing about my organic tomatoes? Because I want to offer my gratitude to the Universe for the simple pleasures of life. I guess I could say 'Mother Nature' is one of my treasures that I cherish.
Yesterday as I was walking home after having left my car for repair of my air conditioning, I passed a church with a sign in front that said: "For a fruitful life, we seek rain as well as sunshine." As I walked I began to feel the significance of what was written.
If we want a fruitful life, we are going to need those things that help us to grow. We will need the things that nourish us, even though we may not 'like' them. We will also need those things that provide contrast so that we can more fully appreciate and feel deeper gratitude for what we do have.
Rain is fun to play in and feel on our face. A gentle rain is beautiful to watch. Rain can surprise us with a rainbow. Rain helps our plants and flowers grow. Rain washes away the dust of the past. Rain returns precious water to earth. Rain is a magical phenomenon - all of those rain drops falling from the sky!
And perhaps the most wondrous thing about seeking rain and receiving that which we seek, is that even as it rains, the sun is always shining - every time - without exception!
The Eagle Parable was written by James Aggrey in the early 1920's. Many of us are raised with the limitations of a chicken and know not who we really are. Be brave; stretch your wings; believe that you can soar with the magnificence of an eagle!

Grateful to have returned to warm New York today after spending a long weekend with friends in chilly Miami.
What is happening to mother nature with all of these climate changes? When the weather begins to get cold in New York, I have thoughts of buying a place where it is warm during the months from December to March. Now I have second thoughts - because of the cold, windy weather in Forida this weekend, I felt as if I were spending time in Chicago!
Who knows? New York may end up being warmer than Florida! Maybe I will just stay where I am here in New York for a few years until we have a clearer picture~ ~ ~
When we create a nurturing lifestyle, we not only benefit ourselves, but all who are near and dear to us benefit as well.
To nurture ourselves, we want to provide nourishment for the health and well being of every aspect of ourselves: for our body, mind, emotions and spirit or soul.
As we nourish outwardly, we are also nourishing inwardly and also the opposite is true.
Nurturing outwardly may include eating fresh and nutritious food, being active with some form of fitness exercise, taking rest when necessary or simply drinking lots of pure water.
To nurture inwardly, we can listen to soothing or inspiring music, walk or be in nature in some way, visit with an inspiring friend or pray and meditate.
We sometimes forget in the hustle and bustle of each day to nurture ourselves. During this past week, two of my friends had experiences that illustrate.
My first friend had made a commitment to be somewhere one evening and found that she was doubled over in pain. Instead of releasing herself from the commitment, she went for her appointment anyway. Long story made short, the following day she drove herself to the hospital where she was operated on for a ruptured appendix. Is there a lesson here?
My second friend, instead of first preparing her icy sidewalk with salt [we have been having many snow storms here in New York], she walked on it anyway. Long story made short, she ended up in the hospital being operated on for a broken ankle. Is there a lesson here?
Both friends have moved out of the hospital but are still not home - one is in a friend's home and the other in a rehab place. Each has voiced their intention to be more consciously caring and nurturing of themselves.
In what ways can you be more consciously caring of yourself so you can create a nurturing lifestyle? To your vibrant health and wellbeing ~ ~ ~ Rijuta Tooker JOIN my Community by clicking on the link below: Creative Concentration Community

Celebrating Earth Hour tonight are over 120 countries and all 50 states in America. Tonight at 8:30 local time, all who participate will turn off their lights for one hour. Each one who joins this massive action will be calling attention to efforts toward a cleaner, safer and more sustainable future for the world and saying 'YES' to be continually mindful of protecting our future from drastic climate changes.
There are actually many ways in which you can participate. One suggestion is to go to a landmark site where you know the lights will be turned off. Watch with your own eyes, feel with your heart as you join with millions of other like-minded souls.
Or, you can stay at home, light some candles and spend some silent quiet time either by yourself or with friends and family. Enjoy special treats at 9:30pm.
