What do you do when you hear the sound of music? Would you dance or just watch?
More that 200 dancers were performing their version of "Do Re Mi", in the Central Station of Antwerp.
With just 2 rehearsals they created this amazing stunt! It became a promotion stunt for a Belgian television program, where they are looking for someone to play the leading role, in the musical of "The Sound of Music".
Author and lecturer Leo Buscaglia once
talked about a contest he was asked to judge.
The purpose of the contest was to find the most caring child.
The winner was a four year old child whose next door neighbor was an elderly gentleman who had recently lost his wife.
Upon seeing the man cry, the little boy went into the old gentleman's yard, climbed onto his lap, and just sat there.
When his Mother asked what he had said to the neighbor, the little boy said, "Nothing, I just helped him cry".
Last year 50,000 Estonians got together and did in one day what it would have taken the government 3 years and 22 million euros to do - clean up all the garbage in the country! More than 600 volunteers came together to organize Campaign "Lets Do It!", a grassroots initiative to clean up the country from 10,000 tons of illegal waste in just one day.
Wow! What a project!
What an amazing Inspiration in Action, don't you think?
"Seva, or service, is the selfless giving of oneself for the betterment of others and the world around. At Seva Cafe, the concept of service takes the form of a "pay it forward" restaurant, where every meal is cooked and served with love."
Wouldn't you love to have or open, a place like that in your community?
Will that be at all possible?
Maybe not...but it is an interesting experiment though....especially if you like to cook.
Seva Cafe became "Friend of the Child" when it opened its space to the children from Riverside school to let them experience the joy of selfless service.
For these who saw my previous post about "Seva":you will enjoy to watch the children in action and listen to what they have to say about it.
If you didn't do it yet, let your children serve others!
Or even better, volunteer as a family!

We love flowers, don't we? Beautiful flowers can surely raise our positive energy level, but can they protect us from bad people?
Japanese citizens figured out that they could.
"A Tokyo district plagued with burglaries has turned to planting flowers to beautify its streets and help stamp out crime."
"'Operation Flower' began about three years ago. By planting flowers facing the street, more people will be keeping an eye out while taking care of the flowers or watering them," said Kiyotaka Ohyagi, a Suginami City official.
"The best way to prevent crime is to have more people on the lookout."
Suginami, with a population of 528,800, saw a record 1,710 break-ins in 2002.
When a neighborhood watch group found that there were fewer burglaries in buildings on flower-lined streets, Suginami decided to kick off Operation Flower and asked volunteers to plant seeds on side streets and in front of their homes.
The flowers are part of a wider crime prevention campaign.
Suginami says its efforts have paid off, with the number of burglaries falling to 390 in 2008, down almost 80 percent from 2002".

I am not sure if that could work everywhere, but it certainly would make our cities look more beautiful.

Seven-year old "Person of the Week" uses her artistic talent to help orphans.
She started by selling cards at garage sales and to her friends and family.
Her sales took off and, now, the cards are sold through the Global Orphan Project in Kansas City, Mo.,a charity that builds and runs orphanages around the world.
Johnny Barnes, around 85 years old, woke up one day inspired.
For 15-20 years he has been greeting visitors into Hamilton Bermuda by blowing kisses, waving and saying "I love you."
What an uplifting and energy raising idea!
I don't know about you, but he just "made my day" .
Please, if you see him around, don't forget to smile back, twice, and once extra- from me.
September 21st is the UN International Day of Peace, a day of global ceasefire and non-violence: a 24 hour-long platform for life-saving activities around the world and an opportunity for individuals - particularly young people - to become involved in the peace process.
