Thank you to BHW sister in smiles, Rijuta for her post today and for stimulating my mind about "SMILE STUFF"
Thank you to Drs. Ellie andSugar for their continuing Prosperity Hormone (PH) Calls/Seminars.
Thank you to Dr Radha for her smile and permission to use this picture I took at RISE '09 and thank you to our RISE ever-smiling guest star, Rolonda Watts.
SMILE!
Serotonin Smiles
[We know about serotonin through the PH calls]
Smiling has been found to boost levels of the neurotransmitter, Serotonin. It is a vital part of regulating our moods, sleep, sexuality and appetite.
There is an obvious biological connection to elements of happiness in the production of Serotonin. It goes both ways and producing a good mood, getting good sleep, good sex and good food will ensure the smiles and Serotonin keep pumping.
REASONS to SMILE:
-1- A deep inner smile spreads like a relaxing elixir making us receptive to transform negative energy into positive.
Conversely, a scowl suppresses our immune system by increasing stress, contracting channels and blocking energy.
Research by French physiologist Dr Israel Waynbaum indicates that facial muscles used to express emotion, trigger specific brain neurotransmitters.
-2- Smiling signals happy healing hormones such as ecstatic endorphins and immune boosting killer T-cells.
-3- Smile therapy actually lowers the stress hormones cortisol, adrenalin and noradrenaline and produces hormones which stabilise blood pressure, relax muscles, improve respiration, reduce pain, accelerate healing and stabilise mood.
REASONS to KEEP SMILING.....
-1- A scowl suppresses our immune system by increasing stress, contracting channels and blocking energy.
-2- If you're feeling down the stress hormones secreted with a scowl may increase
-i- increase blood pressure,
-ii- weaken the immune system,
-iii- increase susceptibility to infections,
-iv- exacerbate depression and anxiety.
-3- Frowning triggers the secretion of stress hormones.
[I think a frown is a vigorous scowl]
Endorphins are part of those mystical "humoral factors" alluded to in verrry old medical texts.
Endorphins are released in the brain and and flow through the body to produce the phenomenon of "the runner's high".
We can smile and get the same "rush" that calms. Personally, I love that, as running is a non-favorite exercise of mine.
Lastly, a dash of personal philosphy..if you ever doubted that wo/mankind 'just happened' , think about the thought that went behind putting a brain together that has some 22 tiny smile facial muscles being connected by the nervous system to the, oh so few, itsy-weenie cells in the brain that make our endorphins and the 47 frowning muscles are not!
Til our next batch of SMILE! YOU'RE ON BHW !
I remain in gratitude to you each for being YOU !
