Creative Concentration Blog: Silence

Many think that they are trusting their intuition and inner guidance but when I question them further, I find that most of the time they are not really trusting.

If one trusts something, then there is no doubt, no separation from that inner knowing. To trust is to follow and take action accordingly.

The more we trust and take appropriate action - whether that action is inner or outer - the more we are assured that "yes, I am able to trust and follow my intuition and inner guidance."

A simple example: last weekend I kept thinking of my cousin. I hadn't spoken with her in quite a few weeks but I simply did not pick up the phone. She continued to pop into my mind and I said to myself, "Ok, I will call her to see what's up."

I phoned her and she said, "I'm so happy that you phoned. I've been thinking of a career change and wanted to share a couple of ideas with you but I didn't want to bother you on your day off."

We all trust our intuition and inner guidance many times during the day but there are many occasions when we do not hear the whispers that come to us about important issues we have.

For those who do not nurture themselves with 'alone time' during the day, begin to set aside a few minutes of inner and outer silence just for yourself. You will be rewarded with peace and the developing capacity to understand what your inner guidance is trying to tell you. This is an important step to accessing your soul-power!

Would love to hear how you are doing!

Dear aspiring Soul-Power Friends,

We have all had experiences of tapping into our soul power: :) when we perform beyond our usual standard; when we experience heart-felt joy; when we have an extraordinary burst of creative energy.

One of the most common blocks to tapping into our soul power is 'attachment'. What do we mean by this?

Because the body-mind has limitations, it can be attached, for example, to things, situations, another person, outer pleasures, pre-conceived notions of how things should be and the status-quo. This attachment tends to bind us to our current 'reality' and often ends in frustration.

Because the soul is unlimited, it wants to free us from our bondage to attachment, therefore the soul practices 'detachment'. Detachment allows us to more easily experience real freedom and inner joy.

By detachment, we are not speaking of indifference or neglect. We are speaking of not being attached to the results of our efforts. We do our best and let go of the rest.

We tend to live only for the fulfillment of the needs of our body-mind and forget the needs of our soul. The soul, like any other part of our being, needs to be nurtured and cared for. We feed our body-mind three or more times a day. How many times a day do we feed the soul? Not even once in many cases.

So in order to overcome blocks to tapping into your soul power, let go of your binding attachments, one at a time. Feed your soul in your own way by spending time alone and in silence.

Do you want to lose weight? Do you want to earn more income? Do you want to contribute more to humanity? Think of 1 or 2 reasons why you might secretly want to stay exactly where you are. Is it more comfortable? Is this place your total identification? Do you fear competition? Are you not interested in listening to your higher self?

Join my Soul-Power Community! As soon as we get enough members, we will begin doing short empowering exercises that will help us to live more easily and more often in our soul power!

Each of us has a place inside of our being where we feel totally safe, unafraid and at peace; a place of calm in the midst of the storm; a place of guidance and support in all things. Where is this place?
49646_24344524.innerSanctuary.jpg
When you are expressing your deepest emotions, where do you place your hand?
When someone points in your direction and says, “Please come over here,” and you answer, “Who, me?”, where would you place your hand? In all cases your hand would automatically and immediately go to your heart.

We can feel that our heart is our inner Sanctuary, a sacred place protected from the ‘outside’; a place of shelter. Let us call this inner sanctuary our ‘spiritual heart‘. Many feel that the spiritual heart is the place where the soul resides.

When are we allowed to go there? Just on Sundays, or Saturdays? Or Friday nights? Are we limited to only certain hours during the day?

We have complete freedom to go to our inner Sanctuary whenever we feel inclined. We do not have to ask anyone for permission; we do not have to sign up anywhere; we do not have to show our ‘pass’. We have free entry 24 x 7.

How often do you go there? Many forget that this inner Sanctuary is available. Whenever you need to find peace, joy, love; whenever you want to express gratitude, visit your heart and soul area, at least once a day.

Silence time in your inner Sanctuary is time well spent.
I invite you to go there today.

On Dr. Charlie Drake's MasterMind Teleconference tonight, he mentioned several times how important silence is as a tool for success. May I take this opportunity to emphasize the need for more silence in each of our individual lives.

The following are quotes about S I L E N C E by well-known authors. I invite you to choose the one(s) that resonate with you and make them your own.

1. Silence is the true friend that never betrays. ~Confucius

2. Silence is a source of great strength. ~Lao Tzu

3. The Arctic expresses the sum of all wisdom: Silence. ~Walter Bauer

4. Everybody should have his personal sounds to listen for - sounds that will make him exhilarated and alive or quiet and calm.... One of the greatest sounds of them all - and to me it is a sound - is utter, complete silence. ~Andre Kostelanetz

5. unplug iPod
music stops abruptly
cricket song instead
~Dr SunWolf

6. In the attitude of silence, the soul finds the path in a clearer light, and what is elusive and deceptive resolves itself into crystal clearness. ~Mahatma Gandhi

7. Not merely an absence of noise, Real Silence begins when a reasonable being withdraws from the noise in order to find peace and order in his inner sanctuary. ~Peter Minard

8. Learn to get in touch with the silence within yourself and know that everything in this life has a purpose. ~Elisabeth Kubler-Ross

9. Silence is more musical than any song. ~Christina Rossetti

10. Silences make the real conversations between friends. Not the saying but the never needing to say is what counts. ~Margaret Lee Runbeck

11. If we silence our thought waves and listen to our heart waves, we can spread the love message of the Supreme. ~Sri Chinmoy

Would love to know which one is your favorite - or add one of your own.

With a silence-heart :)

1211065_danger_help_need_peace_and_silence.jpgKnow the 'Secret of Silence' and experience profound benefits.
ist1_4294622-silence.jpg
Silence is important! When we aspire to discover silence, we must look within and then claim that silence as our very own. We must achieve that silence, or in other words, become silence itself.

Silence is not just the absence of thought. Silence is a time for preparation. In that preparation, we foster receptivity to hear guidance from our soul, from our Highest. During our preparation, we learn to release our will to a higher will.

Silence is our preparation to allow for our personal transformation. We are transformed when we release and let go of our fears, our worries, our anxieties and our doubts.

In the beginning, silence may feel like emptiness and nothingness. When we truly achieve silence, we feel and believe that silence is fullness, plenitude, love and peace.

If you are one who would like to know the secret of silence, you need only do one thing.
Set aside a short period of time each day for SILENCE. With regular practice, you will begin to experience a deeper silence.

As you begin to reap more benefit from your silence time, you will truly know 'The Secret of Silence!'

For those who know the 'Secret of Silence', what are benefits you have experienced? :)

ist1_3651112-anxiety.jpgFor those who wish to learn how to free your mind of worries and anxieties, you will need to do several things. First, you must realize that when you carry worries and anxieties with you, this is unnecessary weight and an extra burden. :| You are just adding to your daily challenges and difficulties.

You want to be free of this energy-stealer, this daily poisoning of your consciousness. How?

Practice. Practice. Practice.

1) Practice emptying the mind. The very second you find yourself identifying with your fears, insecurities, anxieties, move away from that identification. Throw those thoughts out to the farthest corners of the universe.

2) Practice establishing peace in the mind. Be vigilant. Rather than let the worry-thief rob you of your peace and poise, replace the worry-thief by breathing in peace then exhale, sending that peace throughout your entire being. Continue, until you are once again poised.

3) Practice making the mind calm and quiet. Rather than allow the tortures of the mind to rule your day, concentrate the mind on one-pointed stillness, calmness and quietude.

We must take inner and outer action steps to reach any goal.
Practice ~ ~ ~ until you reach your own sense of excellence with the above three steps. You will quickly learn how to free your mind of worries and anxieties.

All three steps can be practiced during your daily routine. No need to sit in solitude or go hide somewhere while you practice, although that may be helpful. Noone will know that you are challenging the darkness and welcoming the light of peace.

Begin today! Free your mind of worries and anxieties! :)

ist1_11822819-kids-holding-together-a-terrestrial-globe.jpgAlthough you may wish to see more peace in your outer world, you can take simple steps to create more peace in your personal world, both inner and outer.

We look around our outer world and find an economy that still causes heartaches to many, institutions that do not serve us in a fair way and a disaster such as the Gulf oil spill that unnerves even the bravest. When we realize that all of this is almost more than we can handle, what is the next best thing for us to concentrate on?

Ideally, we aspire to change our own circumstances to match what it is that we would like to see in the greater world around us. How do we do that? By feeling that we are part of the solution.

We do that one small step at a time, by bringing a sense of peace into each area of our own lives as best we can. For example, rather than concentrate on any lack in our own economy and financial situation, we can instead concentrate on what is working for us and be grateful for all that we do have.

For our disappointment in many of the institutions we count on daily, again let us use the same principle of appreciating what does work about them and letting go of the usual complaining that we can easily unleash.

The disaster in the Gulf is a big one. The most simple solution is to remember a few moments of loving prayer or meditation each day for mother earth and her children - plant, animal and human.

Of course, to bring peace to our immediate outer world, we must establish peace in our inner world, inside our mind and heart. For this, we can make a daily intention to set aside some silent time during the morning, during the day or in the evening to establish our own inner safe haven.

When you create peace in your personal world, you are contributing in a hugh way to create peace in the larger world around you. Please commit ~ :)

Prayers for peace in your personal world.

You can create an opening for positive change to happen in your life!

Whether we want to or not, we are going through times of great change and
many of us find ourselves holding on, holding on, holding on ~ ~ ~ :8} :|

What are we holding on to? Could we be holding on to FEAR?
Gripping fear - even total panic - are guiding the mind and emotions of millions on our planet right now.

You may respond, "How silly! Why would I want to hold on to fear?"

Ask yourself the question: "What would happen in my life if I released and let go of my fear?"
This is the very thing that we sometimes fear: "I am afraid of what might happen if I let go!"

I invite you to take a few moments to be with your fear and allow yourself to go to the other side of fear.
What is left? Several eventualities or possibilities.
You may wish to write them down in order to explore a possible path to change in your life.

Fear of the unknown is a great intimidator. It matters not what the fear is about.
What matters is that fear has captured you and is controlling your life - and not always for your highest good.
:(

In order for you to create an opening for change to happen, I invite you to release, let go, surrender to your fears, doubts, worries or anxieties so you can then allow what you really desire to enter into your reality.
This will take a few minutes concentration so I recommend that you find the time and space where you can be in silence/solitude.

We know we cannot fill a cup that is already totally full.
In the same way, by releasing fear then replacing fear with possibility, you are creating an opening for change to happen in your life.
A new, clean, clear opening allows change, change to something that serves your highest good.

Ready for change? Then commit to opening and releasing that which you are holding, holding, holding.
What are you holding? NOW is the best time to release it. ;)

Celebrating all openings for positive change!

During these extraordinary times it is always wise to keep your light tank full! ;)
107024_sunsplosion.jpg
Inasmuch as we are aware that we should keep the gas tank of our car either full or at least with a significant amount of gas, especially as we deal with winter storms and the like, we need to be equally aware of having to keep our inner light tank full.

What is your inner light tank?
Your inner light tank is that part of you inside that has enough energy, enough courage, enough goodness, enough peaceful and harmonizing momentum to move your life forward in a positive and fulfilling way - moment by moment.

How to do this?
Simply set the intention: "I am eagerly keeping my light tank full today."

Then notice when your light tank is being drained. :|

For example, suppose a family member or a friend phones you for some kind of assistance that is needed "right now" and you feel you must respond "right now". You were just about to launch into one of your projects AND instead, you stop and change direction.

In absolute stillness and quiet, you inhale slowly and deeply, drawing into your every cell: pristine LIGHT. Feel the purity, peace and clarity of light ebbing through your entire being as you continue to re-fill your light tank; add an affirmation if you wish.

Finished - then go about your business until you come to the next opportunity to use your light, of course remembering to re-fill immediately. There is always an abundance of light available to us. All we have to do is ask for it or simply take it!
It is free and totally available.

How did you use your light today?
Perhaps more importantly, how did you re-fill your light tank today?

Sending lots of light your way ~
:)

How can you FEEL your intuition? ?:|
One of the best ways we can know what our intuition is trying to tell us is through our feelings or through symptoms we become aware of in our body
.

We typically feel these sensations in our heart, in our stomach or in our hands. All of a sudden our heart starts beating more rapidly; our hands become cold, or sweaty; our stomach feels tense or upset. All of these feelings are easily recognizable.

On the other hand, many of our intuitive feelings are much more subtle. We simply FEEL our intuition to be true in the moment.

Intuition has nothing to do with the reasoning or analysis of the mind.
Intuition is not justified or questioned.
Often when our intuition reaches our awareness, our mind tells us, “I don’t have time for that!”; or, “Why spend money on that?”; or, “I am too busy!”

Intuition is always trying to help us by giving little nudges or hints or we could even call them warnings. Alas, how many times have we failed to listen?

Feeling: “It is so warm today.” Intuition voice: “Stop for a bottle of water.”

Feeling: “I am going to be late for the meeting.” Intuition voice: “Turn left at the light.”

Feeling: “Something is missing.” Intuition voice: “Take your sunglasses today.”

BELIEVE in your own intuition.
Begin to look for examples of not only your intuition, but others as well.

Keep a silent space in your mind from time to time so intuition can slip in. For example, when you get into your car just before driving off, stay quiet for 20-30 seconds. You will be surprised at how many times you remember something you were supposed to have with you. Or, your alertness will be heightened to protect your safe travel.

At any given moment, practice concentrating on the feelings you are having. Set an intention to be aware of your feelings for the next hour. For most of us, that will be a brand new experience and a very helpful one. ;)

Each of us feels our intuition in different ways at different times.
We all have stories of how we were rewarded in some way by listening to our intuition. Care to share?

In my experience, there are many portals to peace. The first one I bring forward to you is to Be Happy! :)

808898_door.jpg
Most people would like to live a life of peace; however, many do not know how to actually find that peace.

As our first portal to peace is to be happy, we can also feel that a portal to being happy, is to find peace. When I 'googled' the two words "be happy", an astounding two hundred twelve million results popped up (212,000,000) ! ! ! :O

Why is that so astounding?

With so much being written about being happy, including songs and videos, one wonders how it is that so many people are not truly happy!

The state of being happy is, of course, different for each one of us. Unfortunately, for many, being happy depends on outer circumstances and outer 'things'. Although this has been said many times and in many ways, if people could release this dependency on the 'outer', we would have many more happy people in this world.

As we concentrate on our own happiness, circumstances and things outside of us and around us can certainly add to our happiness, but our inner state of being is where we go to find our deepest and truest happiness.

To access our inner state of being requires that we become silent and aware, observant and receptive to 'what is'. This process will take practice for those who are new to inner 'work'.

Much has been written about being happy; if true happiness is escaping your experience, I suggest that you google 'be happy' and pick and choose several of the results that spark your interest. You will definitely be on your way to entering the first portal to peace: to be happy! :-D

Not necessarily in order of importance, another Portal to Peace is to live from your heart and soul.

Many of us fall into the habit of living from our mind much of the time. If however, you seek to enjoy more peace in your life, I suggest you make a daily intention to live from your heart and soul.

You may wonder, "What exactly is the difference between living from my mind and living from my heart and soul?" ?:|

Living from the mind is living with the limitation of our doubts, our struggles, our fears and our separating ego. :| Living from our heart and soul power is living with oneness, collaboration and creativity. :)

To live from our heart and soul, it is advisable to learn to listen/feel to the inner message is that is coming from our highest self: our heart and soul. The inner messages that we receive from our heart and soul are filled with infinite wisdom and love, always given for our highest good.

In order to hear these messages, messages that are absolutely necessary before we take action, we must spend time in silence, even it we can only manage two minutes at a time.

Experiment today. Practice concentrating on the heart and soul in order to hear the loving wisdom of the heart and soul rather than listening to the chatter of ups and downs, in's and out's of the mind. Before making that important phone call, before giving your team a pep talk, be still, listen and live from your heart and soul.

Were you surprised at one of the messages that you received today? ;)

To access another portal to peace, connect with your inner silence.
599873_silence_.jpg
The easiest way to discover and connect with your inner silence is to plan for a few quiet moments during your day. Write it into your schedule if need be.

What could you gain from connecting with your inner silence?
You could experience a deep inner peace, a feeling of inner poise and a connection with the wisdom of your highest truth.

Allowing your inner silence to come to the fore of your consciousness requires time, especially if it has to push through all of the noise of your mind and the influences of your surrounding environment.

For this reason, it may be best to connect with your inner silence early in the morning and/or after you have gone home in the evening.

Most people find it is also necessary to experience their inner silence during the day in order to stay centered, with clarity and peacefulness. This time could be found perhaps during lunch, by taking a walk down the hall to the drinking fountain or simply closing your door (if you have one) and looking out the window.
Where there is a will, there is a way ~

Inside each of us is a sacred space, generally felt in the heart area. In this sacred space, you will find a portal to peace that will connect you with your inner silence. Have you entered that portal today?
:-x
