What? Did I really say that? The following lyric has become my personal manifesto. It originated from one of my journal entries and I put a melody to it. The song Fearless is the title track from my new CD, and it is a reminder of how I want to be. I felt it would make a good "read" for my new BRAVEHEART sistas.

The truth is I still feel fear and worry at times. The cool thing is that I'm getting better at "showing up" and doing what I need to do--despite the knots in my stomach or the voice of ego.

One of my favorite movies is the Christmas classic, It's a Wonderful Life. I can relate to the main character, George Bailey--he represents the common man or woman. George is a great guy, but somehow he gets lost. He starts to compare himself to others that are "more successful" and "living their dreams" He feels resentful and envious. He forgets who he is. He gets lost. (Been there... done that)

I wrote this song for my myself, my teenage daughter and all the George Bailey's in the world that forget.

Keep My Faith (lyrics)

Greetings Sistas!
I've been working hard on completing a new music slideshow that I will soon be posting on YouTube & Braveheart. I am enjoying this process of creating visual presentations for my songs.

First a little about the song. This song has been (spiritually speaking) the most beneficial song for me in my personal growth as of late. This song Keep My Faith is simply Claudia giving Claudia a pep talk. The more I undertake, the more I need to keep my eyes on the prize and keep my faith pointed in the right direction. In this song I make a promise to myself to NOT LOSE HOPE.

If you watch the news or listen to the radio, it is so easy to get caught up in FEAR. I am making a comittment to keep my faith. Since the song was released, when I catch myself on the brink of "monkey mind thinking" I turn on the song and start singing it loud and clear till I get back to higher ground.

By the way, the music to this song has a hip-hop feel. (My work as a music teacher for the hip-hop generation is obviously influencing me! ) It was the last song I wrote to be included on the CD FEARLESS and I set the intention to create something very high energy and soulful (to balance out the mellow songs) on the CD.
