This blog post is to give you a real live experience, of how using natural ways can allow the body to heal itself, when given the opportunity. Last May I injured my shoulder and was in extreme pain. The Doctor visit and the Physiotherapist visit suggested that I had a rotator cuff injury, possibly a tear, and it may require surgery because there also seemed to be damage to the cartilage. (I can’t quite remember the exact name they used right now.) Also my shoulder was “sublaxating”, which means a mild form of dislocation, and the pain of this was horrible. It took me a week to figure out what was going on, and once I knew, I figured out how to “not” have it in sublaxation. Here in Canada we have to wait for our ultra sound tests, anywhere from 2-4 months. which seemed unbelievable at the time, but inside I knew, this would give me “time to support my body so it could heal itself”. I say this to many clients who can’t get answers or get in for tests and such, and so now, it was time for me to listen to my own inner knowing. I got going, applied the natural and spiritual health knowledge, and can happily report, I am on the mend. This is huge, no surgeries, no medications or cortisol shots, and no hospitlization…yeah. I simply took it one step at a time. You cannot look too far in advance when you have alot of pain, it’s a matter of trusting the process, and being guided to each step along the way. The positive side of this injury, is I took this as an opportunity to cleanse my body of toxins, better than ever. Here is a list of practitioner’s, and health cleansing and building techniques I used to repair my shoulder injury, and my body, mind and Spirit, as a whole. - massage therapy – with a women who has “healing hands”..she was amazing, and she also encouraged me “that I would heal”. In the beginning of my injury, these were words of comfort and hope. - acupuncture for the pain, and the acupuncturist just happened to be a physiotherapist as well, again a women by chance, and she also was very, very awesome, and she was also amazed at the speed of my recovery. - water physio, this helped to give me more mobility, very helpful also. All the while I put myself on a wide array of nutritional supplements: - serrapeptase for inflammation, - Recovery, White Oak Plus, for inflammation and repairing bone, muscle and cartilage. Neurogenesis NeuBeCalmed & NeuReleive to assist in pain management. Remember, at the beginning, I couldn’t even sleep through the night, it took a few months to rebuild and reduce inflammation enough so I could sleep and be pain-free. Oh, and I STOPPED DOING HOUSEWORK, including dishes, vacuuming, cooking, and cleaning bathrooms. I learned quickly to listen to my body, and STOP doing these things so it could repair and heal. This is one of the hardest tasks at first, (but after awhile…once the family stepped in and took over my jobs.. (along with a housecleaner now and then, it was kind of nice…LOL). I then went the extra mile and also took the time and money to cleanse my body. - Colonics – hydrotherapy colon cleansing. - 7 day liver/gallbladder cleanse which removes gallstones from the gallbladder and liver. - 7 Day Raw Food Challenge, - Cranial Sacral therapy, reflexology, and bodytalk were other treatments I had. - Foot bath and foot patch detoxes too. You see, there is a combination of cleansing the body, and increasing the nutrient value, which together, allow your body to repair itself. By the time I went for the ultrasound, they couldn’t see anything, no tears, no damage. My physiotherapist/acupuncturist looked at the results and said my shoulder muscles and cartilage were really healthy. The Dr. said she was surprised there were no tears, and to come back if I had more trouble. I can tell you that to-day I am so happy and grateful to be continueing the healing process, instead of dealing with a surgery and trying to recover from that. Sometimes surgeries are necessary, and sometimes, the extra time when used well, can allow your body to “heal itself”. My shoulder is not perfect yet, but I can reach my head again, and I can cook, do dishes and walk with my arms swinging loosely by my side. So there you have it, my journey with shoulder pain and how I recovered, has been revealed. I hope this gives you trust and hope and confidance to realize, the body will heal itself, when given the chance. I also realize that doing all of the above can look overwhelming, that is why it’s important to take it one step at time, and your healing journey could unfold quite differantly. So stay inspired, postiive, and open to guidance, both inner and outer, and watch as your path unfolds before you. Until next week, keep your health on the top of the priority list, and watch your health improve, naturally, one step at a time. Time is moving along, and we have less than 58 days left in this spectacular year 2010. It has been a year of growth for me, as well as a few health challenges along the way, like my shoulder issues. This year I attended BHW RISE, and I Loved it, there is "nothing" like being around so many positiive, inspired women to warm a persons soul. If you would like to end your year strong, healthy and on track, it's not too late. Pull out your original health goals or intentions, re-look at them, remember why you want to achieve more health, more energy, and more fun, and light the spark within you, to take some small actions, to-day. Here are a few simpe health tips: - start your day with water and some freshly squeezed lemon, your liver will thank-you. - try adding hemp hearts to your salads or soup for an extra boost in protein, essential fatty acids, fiber and much more. - remember to plan fun time, and allow your Spirit the joy of friendship. One small step to-day, will bring you towards your desired health goals. Information + Action = Transformation! Be Inspired, Your Natural and Spiritual Health Coach, Annette in Canada

LOVE, GRATITUDE AND THE HEART… This month is dedicated to “heart health”, and I felt inspired to to share all of the reasons WHY I LOVE WYNNDEL, and the Creston Valley which is where I live. It is well known that Love and Gratitude is good for your health, and the more we appreciate and feel grateful for what we have, the more things we will have to be grateful for, and the more love we will feel in our hearts. I often think about all the people, places and things I love about where I live, and to-day it’s time to share the LOVE. It is my intention to inspire you to join in the fun, and indulge in the wonderful feeling of being grateful for the people, places and things YOU LOVE, in your community too. SO HERE GOES: - I LOVE CRESTON for the agricultural flats, and that the land is still available for “agriculture”. My mentor Dr. Bernard Jensen used to teach, live on the hillsides, grow food in the valleys, and that is what we are doing here…and I LOVE THAT. - I LOVE CRESTON for the stores being closed at night, so that everyone has time for “family and fun”. - I LOVE CRESTON for the local farmers, prairie farmers and all of the land loving locals. - I LOVE CRESTON for the wildlife center, and all the birds and bugs, and frogs that live there. - I REALLY LOVE CRESTON for the deer, elk, fox, wild turkeys, coyotes, cougars, caribou, and amazing wildlife we are privileged to live with. - I LOVE CRESTON for it’s mom and pop shops and restaurants. neighbours serving us everything from local Buffalo soup, to homemade bread and pasta. - I LOVE CRESTON FOR THE FOOD, peaches, apples, grapes, carrots, beets, and turnips..you name it we grow it…Hurrah! - I LOVE CRESTON for the fantastic fruit stands with local farmers creating a living by doing what they love. - I LOVE THE hay trucks hauling hay, the horse community, the goats, cows and chickens.. - I LOVE CRESTON for our kids being able to climb a haystack and throw down the bales to be loaded into the horse trailer (thanks Burt.). - I LOVE THE waving to 8 out of 10 people you drive by, and how everyone has their own “special wave”. - I LOVE CRESTON for it’s theatre to watch movies in, - I LOVE CRESTON for it’s artists and musicians, uplifting our Spirit through our eyes and our ears. - I LOVE CRESTON for ALL the health choices available at our local health food stores. - I LOVE CRESTON for the snow to play in, the lake to swim in, the creeks to fish in, and the river to float in. - I LOVE CRESTON for the huge old trees, the plentiful beautiful dandelions, chickweed, burdock and red clover, (just to name a few of my favourite thing…herbs!). - I LOVE CRESTON for the grain elevators, and for being able to drive up and buy old fashioned chicken or horse feed from a local farmer, smell the smell of freshly made feed. (yes-the prairie girl in me appreciates this the most.). - I LOVE the new pool, and especially the steam room and the “red walls” too. - I LOVE CRESTON for the mountains, the backcountry roads, and the surrounding, unique communities. I think I have run out of space here, so I would love to invite you to share what “you love” about your community Post it here, and spread the Love and Gratitude you feel. Let’s keep the momentum going…and most of all… I love Creston for my perception of what is: A SMALL TOWN WITH A REALLY …BIG… HEART! Thanks for being here, and thanks for sharing here. Annette

Sedona Family Photo - Before Crutches.. Have you ever encountered a season in your life when unexpected struggles appeared, and then from there, you received the Blessing and felt grateful? AHA moments are wonderful, aren't they? Maybe this example will help you remember a time when you allowed your "bumps in life", to turn into "blessings". It has been almost a year that my body has been giving me the "slow down" cue. It began with my shoulder injury last May, and every few months it would switch from one shoulder to the next shoulder, to the knee, to a sprained ankle, and recently, after an amazing trip to Sedona with my family, I sprained the OTHER ankle! (on the last day of our holiday). Well, I have heard of the archetype the "wounded healer", and I suppose this could apply to my year of challenges. This last sprain did not heal as quickly, and being I had to fly home, a wheelchair was in order at the airport. I must admit, the experience of being in a wheelchair was quite interesting. The benefits of the wheelchair were: - we were able to go past the line-ups, and since I couldn't walk through the scanner without crutches, I was given the "hand body search", which wasn't quite as bad as I thought. Well, a week has passed, and with my Miracle Oil for inflammation, and other natural products to strengthen ligaments and joints, I'm sure I will be on my feet again soon. The message that came to me in regards to all of this, is it is my time to SLOW DOWN, and practice my skills of meditation, energy healing, and LISTENING to my Inner Guidance. Sure enough, I have received more clarity on my "next steps", and have chosen to "luxuriate" in the "down time", which is allowing me to study my passion, and stay connected to my Spiritual Source, and Mother Earth, while allowing me to Trust in the Process. Well, those are my AHA moments from crutches and wheelchair wisdom. Has there been anything slowing you down, and allowing you time for deeper connection? Please share below, I would love to know. If I were to ask you, do you see yourself as a giver in life? Or, do you see yourself as a “receiver” in your life? Do you feel giving is an honourable quality? What quality or feeling does receiving have for you? Recently this awareness around “what is receiving” has been making it’s appearance in my life. It’s seems to be a lesson, a learning, around how I perceive receiving vs. giving. Like a 2 sided coin, on one side giving, on the other receiving? It’s not a 50-50 rule or game, it is simply that both giving and receiving are required for balance. How can you give to someone, something you do not have? Giving to others does make us feel good, and we have been brought up this way in much of our society. Now the receiving part can actually become difficult for people who are givers. Here are a few examples of how givers may respond to being given a compliment: - when someone compliments your clothing, do you respond quickly with, “oh this old sweater”, - or if someone compliments your cooking, do you respond with, “oh it was nothing”, or even a “thank-you” is a back at ya type of reply. - or someone offers to pay for your lunch, “ oh no, it’s okay, I’ll get it.” These are all very normal responses for most of us to-day, and as my awareness around this topic has evolved, I have noticed that we don’t really know how to receive a compliment in our bodies. The dictionary says: Receiving is the act of “being able to take in”, such as: - take in the compliment and feel it within your body-ahh, that feels good. - take in the beauty you see with your eyes of the mountains and trees, is receiving (taking in), beauty within your being. - take in the appreciation someone has expressed to you for helping them with something- receive their appreciation of you, and feel it within your body and being. - and to take in these feelings of joy, appreciation, & beauty, is to be able to feel it within your body, as Ellie Drake would say “luxuriate in the feeling”. I really like that word, luxuriate, just saying it make me feel good. Now one more question, how do you give to someone, who has difficulty in receiving? I wonder if we need to practice and remember how to receive? I have some wonderful insights on how to receive gracefully, graciously and joyfully, so both the giver and the receiver are able to “take in and luxuriate” in the dance of giving and receiving. Stay tuned, the next blog post will continue with: Is Receiving, a Gift for the Giver? I enjoy your comments, and I invite you to share your throughts below, Your Natural and Spiritual Health Coach, Annette

On the last blog post I wrote about- Giving and Receiving & what comes easily for you. I went into looking at how do we receive as a society, and what is receiving anyway. To-day we are going to look at how to receive in a way that nourishes ourselves, and the giver too.! ( If you didn’t see the first post, you may want to go back and read it.) To-day we are going to look at: - how do we receive, - and, is it a gift to the giver, when we are able to “take in and really receive” their gift within us. Now this has come to me as an inner “AHA” moment, and I can see as a society we have focused on giving, without realizing we left the benefits of actually receiving something and “taking it in….into our beings”. To bring the gift, compliment, or offer to be helped, within us, it requires that we actually fee, the good feeling of receiving, in our bodies. We have been taught to say “thank-you” immediately following a compliment, which is in a way, giving back to the person right away, before you could even take the time to feel what they just gave you. Now this is a fairly new concept for me, and it has been modeled by Ellie Drake, Jim Verghis, and a few others I have met and worked with lately. How do you/we receive? Here is an example. 1. When someone offers to pay for your lunch, you can simply be still for a few moments, and feel the gift you have just been given, within you. Allow yourself to take it in. Breathing in at this moment can help you receive it into your body also. That’s it, receiving is “taking it within”, and then you can offer your verbal “thank-you”. This taking it in, nourishes ourselves by filling us up with gratitude and appreciation, and, it also fills up the giver, because they can see and feel you being nourished by their gift. Sometimes if you are a a giver, it can be somewhat difficult to simply receive- and to take in the feeling. You see, if you are used to giving 10x more than you receive, and you are always needing to give more than you receive, then it’s possible that you haven’t really “taken in” the gift from “the giver”. Let me say that another way. Next time someone is giving something to you, see if you actually “take it in”, or do you immediately think of how you can do something to give back to them? This can be an automatic habit, such as saying thank-you immediately, is a habit we have created, and we call it having manners. If you give me a horse, (yes, I always dream of having another horse....ha-ha), I can immediately say thank-you to receive your gift. The other way to receive your gift, is I will first take in the feeling of joy, feel it within me, because I love receiving a horse. Once I have received the feeling in my body, I can express this feeling by saying: “whenever I am given a horse, I feel freedom and joy just pour out of me, because I just love horses of all kinds, thank-you.” Now when I express how I am feeling about receiving the gift, I am really receiving the gift, because I can feel the joy and freedom within my body in that moment. Perhaps it is our rush, rush way of living that has reduced our ability to “receive”, or our beliefs that it is better to be a giver. What do you think or feel about this topic, what does it bring up for you? Do you think I’m crazy, or maybe this is old hat for you, and it’s a natural gift you already have? What comes easier for you, giving or receiving? I would enjoy hearing your experiences in this, and for you to share your “AHA” moments below. I appreciate you and the time you have spent reading this. Enjoy the art of receiving and giving. Your Natural and Spiritual Health Coach, Annette

The busy summer season is here, and with it comes more family vacations, friends, and relatives spending holiday time together, in the sun! This year has turned out to be a very busy summer, with relatives coming and going, visiting from other parts of the country, and because it wasn't really planned, but more spontaneous due to family health circumstances, it has brought with it a bit of chaos, and decisions that can come with a flavor of guilt. I'd like to share with you my personal journey and how I came to an AHA Moment in regards to feeling gratitude...rather than guilt, and how much this has created a beautiful sense of freedom that is new for me. Perhaps many of you have already discovered this, and for those of you who have not, perhaps this will serve you and free your Spirit as it did mine. You see, I had pre-planned months ago to attend a Braveheart Women Meet'N'Greet wit the founder Ellie Drake here in Canada. As family circumstances unfolded, and the day drew near, it just so happened that my sister and her 2 children and grandchildren happened to arrive (after a 12 hour drive), on the night before I was to attend the Braveheart Women event in another city. As this event was very important to me (and my soul), I stay committed to this decision, and, also felt a wee bit of inner guilt, having to express that I was in fact leaving the next morning. Not only that, but another friend from far away happened to be in the area, and she was also planing to visit me the following day. To make a long story short, I stayed with my inner calling, and my husband entertained my friends and family, while I was gone to spend a week-end with my Braveheart sisters in Kelowna. Here are my soul sisters in Kelowna (Debby on the left, Stella my blood & Soul sister on the right). ( my mom also lives where I live, , and therefore she also enteratined and visited with tmy relatives as well..). Driving home after the event 2 days later, feeling inspired, fullfilled, and also remembering that bit of guilt, I had the AHA moment. Gratitude, I felt so much gratitude for being able to go, for my husband filling in for me, and for my family understanding, that my guilt simply disappeared! Freedom....is the only way I can explain that feeling of releasing guilt, and flipping the coin to the otherside, and feeling GRATITUDE instead. Well, that's how it was for me, and if you have any AHA's of your own on this topic, feel free to share. I am so grateful to be on this journey with you, and I encourage you to "flip the coin", the next time old patterns of guilt appear, and try gratitude on for size, it worked for me, and it can work for you too! Until next time, Your Natural and Spiritual Soul Coach, Annette PS The following 3 days I spent with my sister and her family were wonderful, my inner cup was full, and we spent quality time together that was rich and rewarding, I encourage you to re-fill your Inner Cup, so you can share from your overflow and enjoy the ride here on earth.

I came across a quote to-day that resonated a truth within me, and sharing it with you came to mind. First I want to ask you one question...Are you feeling hopeful moving forward into 2012, or do you feel hopeless? Yesteday we watched a program that was talking about robot war, and how they are developing robots, including airplanes, vehicles, and robotic people. Watching something like this seemed to instill fear and hopelessness in me, not love and hope. If you are watching these kinds of programs - (found on regular t.v.), remember to look for programs that also share the Light and Love that is occurring on this planet, or you may spiral into lower vibrations that will not serve you, or our transition and evolution that is occurring at this time. The internet actually has a wide array of positive programs, like the Congress of Light which was truly an uplifting experience, and connecting here in the Braveheart Women Community with other Braveheart sisters, is a wonderful place to become inspired and come alive. Okay, now onto the uplifting quote I felt inspired to share with you... and my hope, is for you to take this message into your heart, and really feel the power and positivity in which this message can create for you, now, as we move forward into 2012 and Beyond. By Harold Whitman: "Don't ask yourself what the world needs. Ask yourself What makes You Come Alive, and then, go and do that. Because what the world needs is .... is people who have Come Alive." With that, I en-courage you, to take time, for yourself, to Come Alive...from within, and greater serve the world from there. Until next time, Live with joy, hope, love and peace. Your Natural and Spiritual Health Coach, Annette
