Eve is a rescue dog who has given back so much to our family! She was on death row simply because she was lost and no one claimed her. State / County budgets only afford one week of care before animals are destroyed. Eve has been with me for many years now. She watched over my children, now grown and out on their own! She continues to train new posse members no matter how long their stay with us....(even keeps Cats safe from Dogs during new posse member orientation) its truly Amazing!B-) She naps a lot these days, deserves the rest, so a pillow has been provided!!!!
Eve..,you are this BraveHeart Sister's "Best Friend" :-x...I could not have done it without You!!!with love and gratitude,

Wyott turned out to be an interesting mixture of Chihuahua and Jack Russell Terrier. B-) She was approx: 10 months old when she was rescued and weighed under 5 lbs, so it was expected that her adult weight would be 7 lbs...not 20+! Wyott was so malnourished that she could not swallow or hold her head steady! One front leg was in a cast as well. Our vet provided the "endorsement" required for Wyott to be adopted into the Posse! The prognosis was not good. :( Weeks later, when the cast was removed the vet said the leg could not be saved even if Wyott lived. But... my BH daughter McKinley who was a teenager at the time was determined. She was out of school for the summer and spent all her time rehabbing Wyott. Thankfully we had a swimming pool so McKinley and Wyott swam 3-5 times everyday!!! Today, about 7 years later, Wyott is still clowning around Thanks to the Determination of a BH Teenager!:-x

In the Inspirational words of Tippi Hedren....
"How could you Not take care of them?"

Humbly said...we've received the opportunity to Rise and Rescue two sweet little kittens. The brothers are 3 or 4 weeks old.

It's been a while since I have fed babies...;\

Purring as we speak...keeping us busy....more to follow.:-p

Almost 5 weeks old now...they are playing a little bit now between feedings but still sleep most of the time!:-x

George aka Mad Max is quite fearless and leaps before he looks...seen here playing with Alpha Dog Eve's bushy tail!

Lenny aka Skrinkle is quite the lovey dove as he receives kisses from Tasha's ....he is always ready to cuddle!

(George is the one with his tongue sticking out! :-p

The Journey continues for Eve, the posse and I .... this is a continuation of my previous blog below:

For now at least....Eve is still staying close by...?:|

You see, she came to visit me one evening during the week of 11-11-2011...:-x

I turned around and tripped over her...because of course, I wasn't expecting her to be lying on the floor right behind me as though it was business as usual...!;\

Granted, it was over in an Instant and she was gone by the time my mind could register what had just happened but....

It was clear and real ...as I could see it in the faces of the posse members who were close by....What loving beautiful reminder to stay Grounded!!!!

Thanks Eve....love and gratitude as always! :-x

In memory of Eve... loyal companion and faithful posse leader!

Eve ....Thank you for all the years you watched over me, my children and every rescued posse member that crossed our path along the way.

Early Friday morning, Nov. 4th ...Eve, my long-time loyal companion and faithful alpha dog passed away.

She had courageously stayed with me longer than expected to comfort me and love me unconditionally …. as these last couple of years have been challenging at best!

Eve never complained about the pain....loyal and struggling to meet my needs till the very end....so determined to stay…. for all of the rest of US!

Thursday night (Nov 3rd) In response to what I can only describe as Eve’s thoughts coming to me telepathically; I began telling her as we walked together and then lay side by side for the last time, that I would be “OK” if she needed to go…and early Friday morning her body rapidly began to shut down.

I held Eve closely that morning, reassuring her, that her loving posse and I would be all right… Quietly whispering into her ear that she had served us well….Thanking her for all she had given to Us!

She relaxed into my arms as we recalled the first time we saw each other, all the places we traveled, the things we had done, the people we met and the animals we rescued together....!

Eve and I shared the best of our Memories together as she courageously slipped away…leaving her beautiful face and knowing eyes vividly imprinted in my mind’s eye forever!

That night ….my Beautiful Eve…. Danced in my Dreams All Night Long!

w/Gratitude for the years we spent together...

Love always,
Anne, McKinley, Riley and the Posse
