I was just reading a post from the Creative Concentration Community and it really sparked some thought for me.
The moderator Rujita was suggesting we must embrace change with a positive attitude and I couldn't agree more!! It is SO important to accept change and find a way to feel loving and positive towards it no matter what kind of change it is.
I am reminded of the story of Azim Khamisa whose son Tariq was killed by Tony, a 14 year old boy enacting a gang initiation. Tony was sentenced to life in prison. Eventually Azim went to see him so that he could 'look into the eyes of a murderer', but instead he found himself looking into the eyes of another soul - just like himself.
Azim (after thousands of hours of meditation) forgave the boy who took his only sons life and created the Tariq Khamisa foundation, devoted to teaching children about a non violent way of living, and using his own story to touch hundreds of thousands of children and adults. He also worked to reduce Tony's sentence and promised a job for him in the Foundation upon his release.
This is the height of looking at change with newness, enthusiasm and gratitude. We must ask ourselves, "What bigger and better idea is waiting for me?" What is my role in this situation? How can I use this situation to better myself and others? Ask for willingness to be grateful if that feeling is not readily available. It doesn't mean that you have to love every element of whatever it is that happened - that might not be reasonable. But you absolutely can be grateful for the positive elements of change that are brought about by the situation - a most unreasonable and painful event can push us towards personal growth and we can never tell what our path would have been like without the change!
Having said all that, these are the ideas that fuel our voices. It is so important to clear fear and pain out of your body - the vessel you use to create sound and send it into the world. Your sound carries all those pent up emotions, so what are you giving away today? Choose gratitude. Choose enthusiasm! It will change your life!!
