Hi Ladies, I love, love, love to read! I know, we are all busy and you are all saying, "When am I going to find the time to read 5 books at a time?" Well, let me tell you about my simple approach! I simply pick the books I want to read, get 5 highlighters and 5 notepads or I put stickies inside the covers. I put one book in my car, 1 in my living room, 1 in my gym bag, 1 next to my night stand and 1 in at my office. Anytime I have extra time, I am always ready to learn, take notes, mark important messages for future use and before you know it, I have read 5 books. Usually these books help me to grow and improve my self. They assist me in helping myself and others grow spiritually. They improve my mind and assist me in staying positive. I can't get enough!
So I find the extra time when I am waiting on kids or on a drive with the husband, doing cardio at the gym, or during commercials if I am watching TV. I find 10-15 minutes of reading relaxes me before I go to bed. And finally when I am downloading in the office or on hold with a company, I can get an extra 10 minutes in here and there.
Here is to getting nourished & cultivated! Tari Bussard
Ladies,
I had a lot of fun telling you about my Inn'er Power Find and Fit 60! I have really enjoyed joining a computer social networking site like Facebook, but I really wasn't paying attention on much time I was spending there. Sometimes I would intend to only go on just to check something and then I would find myself there for the next 90 minutes. Ok know, I still got work to do!
The other night I was sitting on the couch, laptop on lap and was chatting on FB. My son grabbed his blanket, cozied up right next to me, got out his laptop and we both were Facebooking together at the same time.
Ok, I came to the conclusion that this wasn't going to work for me. So I decided to set some limits for myself, 60 minutes a week only!! Guess what, it's working out great. Now I even look forward to my 60 minutes like I look forward to getting cards on my birthday!
Another thing I wanted to mention is while I am on my weekend catch up calls, I usually have them on speaker while I am sweeping, folding clothes or putting clothes away! I enjoy spending time with my family and feel more empowered when I find extra time to nourish and cultivate them!
I look forward to telling you about my Inn'er Power Find and Fit 10.

Hi Ladies, To nourish myself I love to hit the gym, but there are times is my life that I just can't get there or I have to take time off. Getting back to it is the hardest for me. I usually start a routine out at home then when I am back into the swing of it I go back to the gym.
Here is a simple approach that gets me going at home or at the gym. 15-30 minutes of cardio to start Monday - Back, Biceps, Core Wednesday - Shoulders, Core Friday - Legs, Core Sat. or Sun.- Chest and Triceps, Core I do this for about 4 weeks and then I mix it up! Your body likes a challenge and a new routine!
New Month Routine 15-30 minutes of cardio to start M, W, F Legs, Shoulders & Core (1 - 3 Week) M, W, F Back, Biceps, Tricipes & Core (2 - 4 Week)
Every 30 days or so, I throw in something new like pilates or yoga for a month. Then I go back and start it over again with new excercises I find on the Internet. Here is to your Inn'er Power! Tari Bussard
I love to cook, but more that I love to eat! I love to eat really nourishing tasty food! If your are like me in the kitchen, then you are always trying to find something delicious, fast and simple to make.
My SIMPLE APPROACH is finding recipes that I can double and are great for left overs. Which means, they don't fall apart or get soggy. I serve it one night for dinner, then I add to the kids' lunch and I have it for lunch for a couple of days. This saves me a lot of time preparing more meals during the week.
I love eating foods from my vegetable and my herb garden. I wanted to share a recipe that uses Arugula that I sometimes plant in my herb garden, and I always put in my vegetable garden.
It is SIMPLE, delicious and fast. It's great by itself or as a side. It can be made ahead of time or be served warm on the spot. This dish is great for potlucks and picnics. The only bad thing is that is is so good that I tend to overindulge!
This SIMPLE recipe is called:
Pasta with Arugula and Shaved Parmesan
Arugula is awesome in the garden too! It has a tendency to take off! I can pick on it daily for salads.
21/4 cups chopped plum tomato 1/4 cup chopped pitted kalamata olives 11/2 T. evoo (extra virgin olive oil) 1/4 t. dried crushed red pepper 1/4 t. salt 2 garlic cloves minced 4 cups hot fusilli pasta 8 oz. cooked ( I prefer the Barilla multigrain) 3 cups torn trimmed arugula 2 oz. shaved fresh Parmesan cheese
Combine first 7 ingredients in a large bowl. Add pasta and arugula, toss gently. Place 2 cups pasta mixture in each of 4 bowls, and sprinkle with cheese. Makes 4 servings.
How Simple is that?
P.S. Barilla multigrain pasta has 17 grams of protein, 360 mg of Omega 3 and 7 grams of fiber! You won't find that in white pasta!

Well I have a simple recipe for you called: [ b] Pasta with Arugula and Shaved Parmesan
Arugula is awesome in the garden. It has a tendency to take off! It has a nice peppery flavor!
21/4 cups chopped plum tomato 1/4 cup chopped pitted kalamata olives 11/2 T. evoo (extra virgin olive oil) 1/4 t. dried crushed red pepper 1/4 t. salt 2 garlic cloves minced 4 cups hot fusilli pasta 8 oz. cooked (I prefer the Barilla multigrain) 3 cups torn trimmed arugula 2 oz. shaved fresh Parmesan cheese

Are you ready to be nourished today? I have another fabulous recipe for you! It's called Rigatone Caprese!
6 cups rigatoni, penne or ziti (12 oz) dry. Again I like the Barilla multigrain! 4 cups plum tomatoes 2 1/2 lbs. 1 1/2 cups basil thinly sliced 1 cup diced mozzarrella 2 T. evoo (extra virgin olive oil) 1 T. Capers (I put more) 1 clove garlic (I put more) 1 t. salt 1/2 t. pepper
1/3 c. parmesan or romano cheese
Combine 1st 4 ingredients in large bowl. Combine oil & next 4 ingredients in small bowl. Stir well with a whisk. Pour over pasta! Sprinkle with parmesan! Oh la la!!!! Yummy for the tummy!
You can serve this one warm or chill and take it for a potluck, picnic or for lunch for a few days!
Decorating a room from the floor up is the way to go when you are re-modeling a room. But sometimes a room just needs to be nourishedand cultivated to! Paint is very in-expensive and it can give the room a face-lift with a new color and refreshed woodwork. Being able to handle this project on my own brings me Inn'er Power!
My simple approach to painting is to use the mini-rollers with an extended rod and angle brushes. The mini-rollers are super simple, light and they don't soak up a lot of paint. You can even put an extension rod into the end and never have to get on a ladder except for cutting in. I fell off a ladder one time and I never want that to happen again. I have found the angle brushes to be the absolute best in cutting in and have eliminated the need for painters tape. That is a huge time savings! Don't buy the cheap angle brushes! You get what you pay for here!
Tip #1 To make your paint go farther, add water. I put on a good first coat and add water to the gallon. Add as you go, you don't want it to thin. Paint tends to get a little sticky as its exposed to the air.
Tip #2 If you run out of time and don't complete the job, DON'T wash out your brushes or rollers! Just double bag them in a plastic grocery bag and put them in the refrigerator. As long as they are moist then can stay in there an unlimited amount of time. Currently I am repainting all the doors in my home (which is going to take weeks) and I have not washed out my brushes once! This saves a lot of time energy and paint! (This goes the same for faux sponges or rags.)
Tip#3 Last but not least, get a jelly jar or small tupperware bowl and fill it up with paint and label it. I keep this in my laundry room for quick touch ups when the kids mark up the walls. I really don't like having to go out to the garage/barn and go thru all the left over gallons of paint just to do touch up on the wall. (Remember I like to paint!)

Every year on Mothers Day we usually go out to brunch on Mother's Day because that's what my Mother-in-Law likes to do. And because I love her and adore her that's what we do. Same thing every year! You know you go to one of those expensive buffet type places where you eat and eat and eat! Then you are so full you are almost sick! It's not really my cup of tea but I do it for her.
This year we are again doing the brunch thing, but I decided to have my Mother's Day last week end and this is what I did. My girlfriend had a free certificate for one night stay, dinner up to $125.00 and two 80 minute massages and she invited me to go with her.
I had a really busy week, school functions are starting for the end of the year, I had four families over for dinner on Friday, church, shopping on Saturday and a birthday party on Sunday.
After the party I left with a friend to the spa and spent the afternoon resting on the bed doing absolutely NOTHING for three hours. We rested on the most amazing bed with the most amazing pillows and comforters. We went down and had a two hour wonderful, relaxing dinners and laughed and laughed! We had two free dinner certificates, so we ordered calamari, shrimp bisque, steak and lobster and had two deserts. Oh my, were we stuffed. We uncomfortably made our way back up to our rooms and fell asleep in those lush beds by 9:30. Slept like a babies!
The next morning we laid in bed and ordered room service and shared some nourishing oatmeal and a fruit plate. Then we went down for our massages. We were in heaven! Then we showered, dressed and shopped for about another hour.
Finally we headed home and had some shrimp tacos on the patio in a little restaurant in a little town called Los Olivos. WOW, what a great Mother's Day was that!
I haven't indulged like that in a long time, the economy has every one cutting back including me! I was very grateful and honored that my friend shared with me. She is a lovebug! I will pay it forward!
But I tell you what, even though I loved every minute of it, and really needed the pampering, I felt a little over indulgent. Since we have learned to cut back and SIMPLIFY our lives I have come to realize that true happiness comes from within, being in the moment and being there for my family. I loved coming home to my husband and kids and doing what I do best, that's taking care of them. I love being a Mother! It's not always easy, and there isn't much rest, but I wouldn't change it for anything else in the world.
I am blessed and I LOVE MY LIFE!

Hi Ladies, I am reading a powerful book right now called The Power of Focus from Jack Canfield, Mark Hansen and Les Hewitt. It is a very empowering book!
They wrote about the Top-10 Lists of how to create Unlimited Prosperity from two wealthy individuals - Sir John Templeton and Art Linkletter! I thought you might like to read what they had to say!
Sir John Templeton- 1. To achieve success, be neither an optimist nor a pessimist, but a realist with a hopeful nature.
2. Count your blessings to enrich yourself and your neighbors, first spiritually, and then perhaps, financially.
3. Debt, whether personal or collective, should not keep your from investing in your future. Strive to be debt free.
4. Invest in many different places-there is safety in numbers.
5. Money should do far more than simply reproduce itself.
6. Remember that patience is a virtue.
7. If you want to prosper, investigate before you invest.
8. Never forget: The secret of creating riches for oneself is to create them for others.
9. Looking out for Number One doesn't make your Number One!
10. Make success with a single word--LOVE.
Art Linkletter- 1. I'm going to do the the work I enjoy. You only live once, so do what you love.
2. There will always be difficulties, failures and challenges along the way.
3. The margin between mediocrity and success is very small when related to time and effort, over and above what is expected.
4. I will use pull whenever I can to open the doors to opportunity, but I will make sure to work when the door is opened for me.
5. I will recognize and be alert to my own weaknesses, and find people who excel in the things where I falter.
6. I will consider an opportunity to advance more important than the immediate money and fringe benefits of the situation.
7. I will always stretch my abilities and goals a little further than my comfort zone, within reason.
8. I will learn from my failures and then put them behind me.
9. I will follow the Golden Rule. I will not do a deal where someone is short-changed, cheated or taken advantage of.
10. I will use other people's money provided I feel certain the money itself can grow at a faster rate than the interest charges. I will not be greedy!
I hope these lists have NOURISHED and CULTIVATED your mind!

We can only get in touch with our own source of intuition and wisdom when we no longer depend upon others' opinions for our sense of identiy or worth; we all tend to worship something; the question is, will we worship the god of opinion, or the god of our heart?
I found I had less and less to say, until finally, I became silent, and began to listen. I discovered in the silence, the voice of God.

A thought to share....... "I just finished taking an evening class at Stanford. The last lecture was on the mind-body connection--the relationship between stress and disease. The speaker (head of psychiatry at Stanford) said, among other things, that one of the best things that a man could do for his health is to be married to a woman whereas for a woman, one of the best things she could do for her health was to nurture her relationships with her girlfriends. At first everyone laughed, but he was serious.
Women connect with each other differently and provide support systems that help each other to deal with stress and difficult life experiences. Physically this quality “girlfriend time" helps us to create more serotonin--a neurotransmitter that helps combat depression and can create a general feeling of well being. Women share feelings whereas men often form relationships around activities. They rarely sit down with a buddy and talk about how they feel about certain things or how their personal lives are going.
Jobs? Yes. Sports? Yes. Cars? Yes. Fishing, hunting, golf? Yes. But their feelings?--rarely. Women do it all of the time. We share from our souls with our sisters, and evidently that is very good for our health. He said that spending time with a friend is just as important to our general health as jogging or working out at a gym.
There's a tendency to think that when we are "exercising" we are doing something good for our bodies, but when we are hanging out with friends, we are wasting our time and should be more productively engaged--not true.
In fact, he said that failure to create and maintain quality personal relationships with other humans is as dangerous to our physical health as smoking! So every time you hang out to schmooze with a gal pal, just pat yourself on the back and congratulate yourself for doing something good for your health! We are indeed very, very lucky. Sooooo let's toast to our friendship with our girlfriends. It's very good for our health."
Hanging out with my galpals brings me INN'ER POWER!
