"This being human is a guest house. Every morning a new arrival. A joy, a depression, a meaness, some momentary awareness comes as an unexpected visitor. Welcome and entertain them all! Even if they're a crowd of sorrows, who violently sweep your house empty of it's furniture, still, treat each guest honorably. He may be cleaning you out for some new delight." ~Rumi

Seize the moment. Remember all those women on the Titanic who waved off the dessert cart. ~~ Erma Bombeck Dear BraveHearts, I hope you'll seize the moment tomorrow by looking at my next blog post to discover whether you carry the Greek goddess Artemis archetype. Have you had moments when you felt a compelling connection with the freedom of wilderness? The Artemis within you might have been active at that moment. Chickee

Walden Pond in winter A gorgeous reminder of Heaven on Earth! "Every winter the liquid and trembling surface of the pond, which was so sensitive to every breath, and reflected every light and shadow, becomes solid to the depth of a foot or a foot and a half...and it is not to be distinguished from any level field. Like the marmots in the surrounding hills, it closes its eyelids and becomes dormant for three months or more. "Standing on the snow-covered plain, as if in a pasture amid the hills, I cut my way first through a foot of snow, and then a foot of ice, and open a window under my feet, where, kneeling to drink, I look down into the quiet parlor of the fishes, pervaded by a softened light as through a window of ground glass, with its bright sanded floor the same as in summer; there a perennial waveless serenity reigns as in the amber twilight sky, corresponding to the cool and even temperament of the inhabitants. Heaven is under our feet as well as over our heads." ~~by Henry David Thoreau, Walden Pond

Photo by MikaeIa Larm I was sad one day and went for a walk; I sat in a field. A rabbit noticed my condition and came near. It often does not take more than that to help at times- to just be close to creatures who are so full of knowing, so full of love that they don't --chat, they just gaze with their marvelous understanding. ~~Saint John of the Cross

One of the reasons it has seemed so difficult for a person to change his habits, his personality, or his way of life, has been that heretofore nearly all efforts at change have been directed to the circumference of the self, so to speak, rather than to the center. ~♥~ Maxwell Maltz

To our eyes Emily Dickenson lived a confining life, but in every detail of that life she found astonishment and inspiration. "To live is so startling it leaves little time for anything else," she remarked. ©Chickee Dorothy Atalla, author Conversations with the Goddess Facebook Conversations GoddessSpeaks on Twitter

This is a new age – the age of the Prospering Woman. Every day we are breaking more role barriers, allowing ourselves to think independently about who we are and what success means to us…. Prosperity means experiencing balance in life, attaining what we want on mental, physical, emotional, spiritual, and financial levels. Prosperity is the natural result of opening our minds to our creative imaginations and being willing to act on our ideas. ~~ Ruth Ross Chickee Atalla, author of Conversations with the Goddess: Encounter at Petra, Place of Power ©Chickee Dorothy Atalla, author Conversations with the Goddess Facebook Conversations GoddessSpeaks on Twitter

.Today, March 29th, marks the day I was born into an interesting time, the 20th century, one of extreme crises and mind shattering events. It has also been, and continues to be, as we go into the 21st century, a time of great opportunities with new vistas opening up even as another crisis appears. We have been challenged to become much larger in our human beingness than we were in more static centuries. It has been an exciting ride too, as we all sense that we are on the cusp of tremendous planetary change. We hold our breath wondering -- sometimes fearfully, sometimes excitedly -- what's next, and yet we find ourselves experiencing a heightened appreciation for life on our planet. I would not wish to have been born in any other time. When interviewed by the press, Miss Piggy gave this distinguished advice: "Never eat more than you can lift." I so admire her! Is she a sage for our time, or what?! Now I know exactly when to cease gluttonous behaviors, especially when eating yummy chocolate-covered marshmallow eggs this Easter. Maybe I should eat chocolate-covered carrots instead -- but then too many of them might become heavier than I can lift. Most certainly they're heavier than chocolate- covered marshmallow eggs. Don't you agree? Chickee ©Chickee Dorothy Atalla, author Conversations with the Goddess Facebook Conversations GoddessSpeaks on Twitter
