Posted Mar 18, 2009 12:38 AM
Try dedicating the first hour of your day to your most important task – before you check your email, or your paper inbox, or pick up your phone, or go to any meetings.

Crossing just one significant item off of your to-do list each day will make you feel that much more productive! You will be amazed...

If you have additional tips to getting more things accomplished each day, please share by writing a comment. I would love to hear what works for you!

As always, thanks for reading!

Being organized can be FUN!

I love making to do lists, it keeps me organized and on purpose. The thrill of checking things off or throwing out bits of paper after I've recorded the info is so satisfying. I also track all my 'to dos' in my datebook program and set reminders for meetings... get up and walk away from the computer... especially when you work from home. I've been self employed for 25 years, and I have a lot of self imposed tasks everyday,

I like the idea of taking care of the most important task first, that way your mind will be more clear for the other tasks in a day. I've never done it that way, I might try it. I habitually check my email first because much of what I do is communicated through email, including client questions and approvals, online meetings and webinars.

Most importantly staying organized helps us stay on our purpose.

Good luck with yours.

The most important tip for being organized...actually take a few minutes to make a to-do list each day.
This simple task guides your energy in a more productive direction!;)

Thanks for the great tips...I'm just not sure what my first hoiur of the day is yet. Sometimes it's 9 pm after sleeing a couple of hours and up for 25-30 more. Sometimes its 2 am and up for another 30 or more. Maybe I will settle down one day.
