Greetings from Portland!

Alex, It is wonderful to see you here! I remember being soooo organized when I was your age and remained so until I married and stopped changing locations. My great strength and "weakness" is my accumulation of books. I have run out of space to organize them until I get to read them thoroughly and many times over. I look forward to being simply organized once again. Your input to this community will be greatly valued, Amelia Platinum Member & Animal Lover Ola Alexandra- Thanks so much for sharing. Good for you! Thank you all for so many comments to my blog post. It really is a warm experience. I am proud to be involved in the BraveHeart Women community, as I feel I will be able to learn a lot from all of you! I always welcome comments and inspirational ideas. At 26, I am still trying to figure out what I want to be "when I grow up." I have been in Portland for 3 1/2 years and I love it! My favorite thing about Portland is the connection with nature. It really is something most people take for granted; the proximity to the mountains, rivers, and the coast. I recently became involved in whitewater rafting and enjoy being on the river. I never thought it would be so exhilarating and peaceful at the same time. I am always looking for balance in my life. Be it, hobbies, work, or relationships. Being organized has always been a quality/trait that resonated within me. Aside from my professional job as a landscape architect, I will focus on developing a community within BraveHeart Women that focuses on organization; all the tips and tricks that will hopefully make life a little bit more effortless. Perhaps this is what I want to do "when I grow up!" Please stay tuned for future blog posts. And as always, thank you for reading! I love you too, Mom! You and Dad should move to Portland... Smiles, Alex Dear Alex, I live in the Twin Cities but am originally from Chicago. I came here in much the same circumstances in about the same way. The ironic thing is I was going to move to Portland but came here instead which is another story. I love Portland. I have family there. My Mom is from Albany. We spent every some there growing up. We used to have a house in Lincoln City. My sister now lives in Portland. I visit her every now and again. I love love love it!! I hope to meet you one day and look forward to hearing more of your story. Debra Hadraba Honor Your Truth Inspiration+Action Aloha Alexandra! I knew I liked you as soon as I saw your smile! I am certain your story is unfolding beautifully, if eventfully *smile*. At the tender age of 21, I announced to my firmly rooted, Illinoisan family, that I would be moving to NYC. Had you been within 100 miles, you would recall the furor that ensued. They called it "stubborn", and I called it "focused", and off I went to become a New Yorker! Fast Forward 23 years, to "Friends and family, my romance with the Big Apple has ended, and I will be moving, lock, stock, and barrel, (sans career) to an island mid pacific, at least 6 thousand miles away from everything familiar." That was 14 years ago and the fallout continues! I have not one particle of regret surrounding either of those moves! I eagerly await the unfolding of your story here. Bless your BraveHeart! Our world needs you to be a role model to inspire your peers to follow their passion and manifest their greatness. This you are doing so beautifully! Appreciating your SMILE! Rijuta Tooker Manifest your Personal Greatness! Hi Alexandra, Welcome to BHW. Your feelings of waking up thinking "what did I just do?" remind me of a story Ellie Drake told last year when she packed up her family and a film crew to take to the road with two enormous motor homes during the time when we faced the worst gas prices in history. Her challenges were pretty far reaching (on quite a few levels), but she, like you, trusted in the process and she is now doing some extraordinary things as a result. You point out a very important message that is rooted in the core of this community. You have leaped, and you are developing your wings. Thank you for sharing your story and your beautiful pictures.
