How Significant is My Life?

Every morning I remind myself to live in the moment so that I am not feeling overwhelmed by all that I wanted to have done yesterday but may not even be able to accomplish tomorrow.

I tell myself that every action that I take matters. Just deciding to do something will make a difference. But then I wonder how much difference will I make? Will future lives be shifted and affected by what I do today?

I am one of a kind. No one else thinks or acts the way that I do. How valuable are my actions? When will I see the difference that my actions make? Depending on what it is I choose to do, I may see immediate results...or never live to see the results of my actions.

As a recovering perfectionist, I am aware that I can be paralyzed by too much analysis. A friend shared this video with me and that is what prompted all of this deep thinking. Take a moment and reflect on the significance of your life...

I am so grateful that this video touched you, Debra and Barb and Lynette...to the depth that you took the time to comment.

Don't stress over my "condition", Barb. I was raised by a mother that expected A+ not merely A's on my report card. Fortunately, my Heavenly Father has been in my life since childhood so I knew I am loved unconditionally by Him.

However, there are a few things that I strive to be so Excellent at that I am reaching for the elusive perfection. ;).

I am glad that the video made a difference.

Oh my dear Amelia,

Thank you so much for sharing this video! ... :-x ... A VERY powerful message ... but I couldn't grab the line I wanted and will need to revisit it and probably address that line in another post as I am really in a rush this fine morning and need to go after this post ...

So, let me try to weigh in on the point in YOUR blog post that caught my eye ...

"A recovering perfectionist" ... Oh my dear Amelia ... Please know truly that there is NO such thing as PERFECTION! ... :O ...

I learned that lesson quite a long time ago for a number of reasons that some day I will perhaps share ...

But, EXCELLENCE should be YOUR goal and the goal of ALL who truly understand the TRUE SECRET ... TRUTH IS ALL POWERFUL ... and my dear sweet Amelia ... The TRUTH is there IS no such thing as PERFECTION ...

Ah, but then it IS semantics, isn't it? ... ?:| ... What some mean by the word and what others mean by it may not likely be the same ... Ok, but work with me here ... :-x ...

PERFECTION is NOT a human condition and ALL who wish for perfection WILL fail. SORRY! ... but, it IS TRUTH.

EXCELLENCE, OTOH, IS achievable and in TRUTH we can ALL strive to be EXCELLENT ... in God's eyes and in our own. When we strive for EXCELLENCE, we strive to be the BEST that WE CAN BE.

When people strive for "perfection," they are acknowledging without likely meaning to that they have not yet learned one of the greatest lessons in life. We ARE ALL imperfect, but great none the less. There will ALWAYS be others who appear better than we are in any number of ways, hence, we can not possibly be "perfect."

When we realize the depth and breath of the meaning of "perfection" and "excellence," we will have ACHIEVED one of the most important lessons of life.

I hope, my dear Amelia, that I have not offended your sensibilities for that is certainly not the intention of this post ... and I know I am rushed and hence, I may "mess up" without meaning to, but ... the message is sooooo important ...

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE ... STRIVE FOR EXCELLENCE, do not doom yourself to seeking what is not a human condition ... Please! ... :-x ... But, then, you already stated you are "a recovering perfectionist," so you have likely already understood at the deepest level the futility of making "perfection" the goal.

Have a great ... truly excellent day!

Aloha pume hana,

Barb
Amelia this is a precious reminder to each one of us that because we cannot see the entire Picture, it is sometimes hard for us to feel we make a difference... Yet we do, and sometimes it is only much later that we can realize the value of what we brought forth form our actions.

You sharing this video, made a difference for me today and I thank you for it.

Love,
Lynette
