Facing Time

Time is escaping me…
I can’t keep up…
And he won’t slow down…
I’m running around in circles it seems…
Why won’t he help? Can’t he carry me?

Once I feel I’m reaching…
Closer to my time…
I get entangled in the notion…
That he’s standing still staring…
Me in the face!

It’s Only an Illusion…
And time throws me back…
As he continues forward…
Never stopping only moving…
Continuously forever.

Stop! I scream…
But time can’t hear or feel or see…
What is happening to me as I stop…
Exasperated and exhausted…
I slap my face realizing then laughing…
I drew on time and just as easily
Can erase him from my Mind.
