THE MEANING OF RAINBOWS

Posted Jul 26, 2010 10:25 PM
Hi Ladies,

Do any of you ever wonder about RAINBOWS and what they mean? I always thought they were just beautiful to look at and admire. However... while going for my daily walk today...I happen to be in deep thought . ...Ummmm Sort of like a prayerful type of thought..So maybe I should describe todays walk as a walking mediation.:) The strangest thing happened. I was walking along at a good pace. Looking down at the ground ...when all of a sudden I noticed a rainbow. The colors were so bright and beautiful it literally broke my train of thought. haha Snapped me right out of my deep thinking. Even though I kept walking I could still see the rainbow on the ground as if it was walking along with me. Yellow and red were the prominent colors that stood out to me. I wish I could remember now what it was exactly that I was thinking so intensly about haha Because I am wondering if I saw this rainbow at a specific moment for a reason? My curiosity made me look up the meaning of rainbows . I only read about them briefly and wanted to share something I found with all of you. I thought it was interesting.

ALSO...another strange thing . When I logged on to the internet tonight one of the topics was about this man "Paul Vasquez aka Yosemitebear" the man who captured a double rainbow on video. Now don't you think thats a little to coincidental? haha Of course I do not believe in coincidence..Let me know what you think

Colors of the Rainbow and Their Meaning:

V-Violet:
. A deep purple symbolizes high spiritual attainment and a pale shade symbolizes love for humanity. The shade violet brings about a stabilizing factor to the frenzied shades of red.

I-Indigo:
The color indigo means infinity. It also symbolizes wisdom and self-mastery. The indigo color is known to be the bridge between the finite and the infinite.

B-Blue:
Blue is known as the color of divinity. This is the color of the open skies and the oceans. Using the color blue in our daily lives is said to bring about a peace and understanding. This color also helps to soothe and relax.

G-Green:
The color green, symbolizes harmony, balance, growth and good health.

Y-Yellow:
This is known to be full of energy. Yellow also means something bright and happy and the usage of this color is know to bring about a proper clarity of thought in a persons mind and also improve the decision making skills.

O-Orange:
This is not as fiery as red and but symbolizes a lot of energy and wisdom as well. Although dynamic, the color orange is more thoughtful and controlled. This color can increase the creativity of the person and bring about equilibrium in life.

R-Red:
This is the color of energy and enthusiasm. This is also the color with the longest wavelength. Red symbolizes passion, energy, vibrancy and success

Thanks ladies
Looking forward to your thoughts:)

Hi Joyce,

Thank you so much for taking the time to read about my rainbow experience :) And for sharing your own as well.

Can't wait to read more of your creative poems and also can't wait to share some of my own:)
Hi Angelis. First - thank you for your positive feedback on my poem. I will post others as they emerge, and look forward to the thoughts ot the brave women on this site. Loved this blog - and Got to see the video taken at Yosemite. The double rainbow was - as Paul Vasquez kept exclaiming - amazing. And like yourself, I really didn't expect to see a connection to it in another area of my life. I have long been fascinated by rainbows and remember when one followed me home from work one day - hovering just ahead of me on the highway. So thanks for giving me a rainbow thought today.
Hi Sheila,

Just wanted to thank you for your comments. I particularly love "clearing thoughts with beauty is a wondeful way to focus on the present" And also love your little story about people trying to guess your ethnicity :) Thank you for sharing your laughter.

Angeliis
Thank you, Angeliis! For your wonderful, colorful, experience! No, I do not believe in coincidence either. Though many people like to argue that fact.
We here in California were priviledged to the sight of a rainbow at night, during the full moon, on the 25th.
It was glorious! Mainly yellow, green, and red! Rainbows are not thought to exist at night......but they do! I didnot catch in on film but the news did!
You must have really aligned with the frequency! Clearing thoughts with beauty is a wonderful way to focus on the present. I loved how Jimi Hendrix used to say: it's the colors in the music, he was searching for. Beyond black and white, there's a whole spectrum of colors united in a loving purpose. I used to get a lot of raised eyebrows, when I used to say : I was a women of color. (I am light-skinned). People would try to guess my ethnicity, and I just laughed!
