"ME" TIME

Posted Nov 15, 2010 05:34 PM
Hi Ladies,

Today I happen to get an email from a friend asking me what 4 things in my life float my boat. haha In other words..What 4 things drive me to be who I am. I thought this was an interesting topic and wanted to share my 4 things with all of you. While it was easy to think of 4 things to share with my friend...I could have easily thought of several more things that float my boat. But she only asked for 4 so thats what I gave her. Ok so here are my 4

AND one of my favorites is "ME TIME". Which is the reason for my blog today. My "ME TIME" is important to every aspect of myself. By me time I mean its important to my being for me to take time for me ..naturally on a daily basis but to go one step further.. I make it a point to get away once a yr ..with a girlfriend or girlfriends. The past 2 yrs I have gone on a cruise. Getting away from the everyday routines and truly relaxing ones body heart and mind ...rejuvinates the soul. So after experiencing this once..<smile> I made it a point to do it yearly.

So for those of you who also make "ME TIME" what is it you do for yourself?

Hi Jennene,

Thanks so much for your input. Your "me time" sounds like something I would enjoy myself. I love to do those same things. As I said before my friend who first asked about the 4 things that float my boat ..I could have easily came up with more then just four.

And I can relate so much to your comment about " us putting everything and everyone else at the top of the radar" We truly lose ourselves somehow some way. So having "me time" on a daily basis I do believe is essential to our being.

Thanks again for responding. I enjoyed your sharing your "me time" and personal thoughts on the topic:)

Hi! Angeliis:)

You know this is by far one of my favorite topics ever, and that's mainly because I feel as women we just don't do enough to put our selves on the top of our PRIORITY LIST. Some how over the years we tend to put everything and everyone else at the head of our radar all while suffering in so many important areas our selves. We lose site of having that intimacy of growing and coming to know who we are. Doing those little things that make us look and feel good about our selves. That lift us up and feed our spirit so we can begin to LOVE and CHERISH our GOODESS within.

For Me, My Me Time Would Consist Of

Having quiet time alone reading and praying, maybe with a lit candle

Listing To Smooth Jazz

Getting a Manicure, I love to see my feet looking pretty

Hi Ellen,

So happy to see your response. After all you did prompt the idea haha

I would say your time walking Rex definitely counts as "Me Time." Particularly since you both enjoy it so much.:) But I think you should think of something "just for you" as well.

thanks again for your input.

Wow, Donna! By the number of folks that have already read your post and responded, I'd said "Me Time" struck a chord with your brave heart sisters!

I'm so glad you wrote your Big Four down and shared them with us...

I wonder, did anyone besides me have to really pause and think to come up with what they do for Me Time?

If you can't come up with something immediately, it could be your life is out of balance. Thanks for a great reminder that we need to take time out for ourselves. If we don't take care of ourselves how can we help anyone else?

Oh! My me time is "our" time -- Walking my puppy Rex -- good for him and good for me!
Hi Cory,

loved that idea as well for "ME" time. I forgot to mention that while on the cruise I also included the massage as well haha ..They are fabulous and fantastic! I to make this a part of any get away :)

Thanks for sharing your "me time"

Angeliis
I once did a half day at a spa. 4 hours of pampering!
This included: A facial, massage, and a body wrap!

I walked out of there floating!!!

It lasted for weeks beyond the actual experience.

I am creating this as my regular "ME" time experience.

Spirit, I am putting in my request!:-x

Thanks Angeliis!

Hi Rebecca,

Love the soul mate sisters comment. :) Didn't exactly think of it that way but thats exactly what it is. I couldn't have said that any better myself haha

Hi Donna
Those are 4 great topics! Me time is critically important to keep our lives in balance. What better way to rejuvinate the spirit and soul than a cruise and soul mate sisters!!
