Hey Audie, Wow, News4U had some great stuff there! Your Bee Pic, cute! I love it! In regards to getting happy first, great music usually does it, but sometimes I think of something I did that was hilarious and chuckle throughout the day about it....like belting out a tune like RESPECT by Aretha Franklin in the car and realizing that someone has been watching you...still makes me laugh! Love your BH Sister, Darlene Audie, I choose to be HAPPY right now ! In this very moment when I say "I CHOOSE" Why.... Happiness lies in our hands and not anyone else's ! And we are the creators of our own Happiness ! Today I CHOOSE to be happy and in Joy ! Today I CHOOSE to radiate Forgiveness and hope! Today I CHOOSE to finish my taxs so I can take them in(with a loving smile ) Today I CHOOSE TO LOVE MY SELF UNCONDITIONALLY ! Today I Choose TO LOVE MY LIFE!!! LOVE to you today ! Lisa I don't have any tips to share, Audie, but I do want to share my admiration for your blog post today. Terrific! I'm printing it out for contemplation Hi Audie, I feel happy about your post...it pretty well sums up a lot of truths...and re-affirms that legwork is needed on our inner selves first....whatever that may specifically be for each of us....before we can be happy with ourselves...and when we're happy in our own right, happiness begets happiness...and we attract positive and happy people...and everything else flows.... As to tips for getting happy and staying that way, I think a lot of it has to do with perception of oneself, self-acceptance, feeling grateful for everything that we have instead of looking at what we don't have, accepting accountability and responsibility for oneself, for one's own happiness (not waiting for somebody else to make you happy), relearning positive ways of thinking and living, etc. , essentially consciously realigning our thoughts and feelings. The list can go on and on as to how to do that with all the various tools on the market these days to invent, re-invent, oneself, etc. I believe that it comes down to, basically, if music makes a person happy, in the moment, listen to it. If reading a book makes a person happy, in the moment, do it. If going for a walk and getting in touch with nature, in the moment, makes a person happy, do it. If a person isn't happy with one's job, change it. If a person doesn't have the education to do that, get it. Be resourceful in finding a way to DO IT. "BEE" GRATEFUL...LOVE ONESELF...NURTURE ONESELF...HONOR ONESELF...RESPECT ONESELF...TREAT OTHERS AS YOU WOULD LIKE TO BE TREATED...ETC. LET GO OF NEGATIVITY...GET IN TOUCH WITH ONE'S INNER SELF...LISTEN TO WHAT'S BEING SAID...AND SIMPLY DO IT...IT MAY NOT MAKE SENSE IN THE MOMENT BUT WILL BE REVEALED IN THE FUTURE...A LEAP OF FAITH IS AWESOME TO GO BY... I think the key is simply DO IT...and maybe then you'll FEEL it...and 'BEE' HAPPY! Otherwise, you might get stung by a bee...ouch! All the Best, Laura PS--This may not work for everybody...I believe that each of us has to find their own way of getting happy--whatever it is that works for them. Certainly counting one's blessings (in the present) as opposed to one's limitations, and recognizing that the glass is half full or half empty (and re-evaluating / assessing our perception / our inner truth) I think might be a very good start...
