I wish to share from my heart to yours a favorite piece that I found many years ago that has been beautifully framed and placed where I can see it every day. While it speaks of marriage, I feel it applies to all relationships on different levels to include strength, courage, values, respect, gratitude, appreciation and love. The Art of Marriage A good marriage must be created. In the marriage the little things are the big things… It is never being too old to hold hands. It is remembering to say “I love you” at least once each day. It is never going to sleep angry. It is having a mutual sense of values and common objectives. It is standing together facing the world. It is forming a circle of love that gathers in the whole family. It is speaking words of appreciation and demonstrating gratitude in thoughtful ways. It is having the capacity to forgive and forget. It is giving each other an atmosphere in which each can grow. It is a common search for the good and the beautiful. It is not only marrying the right person -- It is being the right partner. Thank you that was an awesome reminder of the daily steps I need to always take......My Husband Randy and I just celebrated our 15 year anniversary on July 4 th and through our personal growth and all the coaching we do our Marriage has blossomed the most from it all .....

Thanks for this beautiful wisdom! I especially like the last phrase.

It reminds me of Maura Leon's plan to find the perfect mate: she listed every quality she wanted and worked on them all herself so that she had them too. Once she had, she met her husband.
