I recently received this beautiful story about the rules to be happy.
Enjoy its message….

~~~~~
A 92-year-old well-poised and proud man, who is fully groomed and dressed by 8:00 each morning even though he is legally blind, moved to a nursing home today. His wife of 70 years recently passed away, making the move necessary. After many hours of waiting patiently in the lobby of the nursing home, he smiled sweetly when told his room was ready.
As he maneuvered his walker to the elevator, he was escorted by an attendant who provided a visual description of his tiny room, including details of the curtains that had been hung on his window.
“I love it,” he stated with the enthusiasm of an 8-year-old having just been presented with a new puppy.
“Mr. Jones, you haven’t seen the room yet…just wait!”
“That doesn’t have anything to do with it,” he replied.
“Happiness is something you decide on ahead of time. Whether I like my room or not doesn’t depend on how the furniture looks or is arranged…it’s how I arrange my mind. I already decided to love it.”
“It’s a decision I make every morning when I wake up. I have a choice; I can spend the day in bed recounting the difficulty I may have with the parts of the body that no longer work or I can get out of bed and be thankful for the ones that do.
Each day is a gift, and as long as my eyes are open, I’ll focus on the new day and all the happy memories I’ve stored away… Just for these later years in my life when memories are so precious.”
“Old age is like a bank account. You withdraw from what you’ve put in.
So, my advice to you would be to deposit a lot of happiness in the bank account of memories!
Thank you for your part in filling my Memory Bank. I am still depositing.”
Remember the five simple rules to be happy:
1. Free your heart from hatred.
2. Free your mind from worries.
3. Live simply.
4. Give more.
5. Expect less.
~~~~~

My wish for you is that you continue depositing beautiful loving memories in your ‘bank account’ each day. They will serve us well all the years of our lives.

In Gratitude…:-x

Dear Linda,

Things happen for a reason and today in reading a new woman's blog I found this. It really hits home.

I too choose to not dwell on the things that my body does not do.
Which lets me concentrate on the things that it does do well. I am much more happier and am moving forward in my life to do the things that I was meant to do.

I am only 49, and if I can have this kind of mindset like this gentle man, I know by the time I am 92 I will have a wonderful outlook on life too. Because I lived it happily depositing all the Joyful Abundance that I have been given.

You are a treasure dear Linda and I appreciate you in my life.

Many Blessings with Love & Light,
Lisa:-x

Dear Linda,

Thanks for this lovely story. It reminded me of Oskar an amazing artist and dear friend that recovered from a stroke and enjoyed life to the fullest. Check him out if you have a chance here

His story is so inspiring!

Love Alison
