It is amazing that there is less than one week until Christmas.
Where has the time gone? ?:|

Hopefully you have completed your shopping and are now ready to enjoy the last few days leading up to Christmas day. :-D

Time to start counting the days and checking the lists to see how much is left to finish.
So much shopping, gift wrapping, mailing, baking to do….
don’t forget to take time to really enjoy the beauty of the season.

Listen to the beautiful songs of Christmas…fill your heart with the sounds and join in the singing yourself.

Let the gentle beauty of nature fill you with joy and appreciation.

Gaze upon the glowing lights and let them brighten your holidays.

Fill your home with happiness and your world with joy.

Appreciate every moment with family and friends…open your heart with love.

Enjoy the beautiful church celebrations, holiday programs, special meals and gatherings of the holidays.

Know that there are many ‘gifts’ of Christmas…the most important ones do not come gift-wrapped.

May your holidays be blessed with the true meaning of Christmas. :-x

In Gratitude…:-x

Dear Linda,

Lovely! The beauty around us is so abundant if we just stop and notice, When we focus on it, the joy fills us and is expressed through us......... just like you are reflecting it now.

Many thanks to you and Kent for your support this last year. Blessings to your entire family.

Merry Christmas!

Nancy

Thank you Linda for reminding us of all the things that count in the lead up to Christmas! A great list! There is so much nurturing in preparing food for friends and family! Enjoying the fact that we make an effort to come together to share stories. new born's, new members thru marriage or new relationships and take time to relax. Many hands make light work! There is every reason to celebrate around an open fire after the meal!

While here in Australia, although it is summer, there was snow in the ski areas of New South Wales during the past weekend, apparently enough to build snowmen!! Not enough to ski, that would be strange in summer?

Most Australians enjoy shrimp and salad and anything else they care to cook on the BBQ. Tradition is thrown out the window and those who can, go camping on the beach, others make good use of the many picnic areas that line our coast! Having said that, some do cook Turkeys in the BBQ and some places have the traditional meals, not many, as the humidity takes its toll! Most backyard pools are not air conditioned and that is where the children want to be!

My daughter Elisha and I will awaken on Christmas morning to share the gifts we have bought each other. We love to drive over to Maleny, for a community breakfast in the park, near the library, again it is all cooked on the BBQ. All the local business contribute and Elisha has the opportunity to share the experience with children who she knows, while I enjoy sharing with everyone!

We then drive a couple of hours south to Brisbane and stay with family, enjoying shared food, BBQ, pool etc. Reminiscing over the 12 months past and celebrating the year ahead! I love that from age 9 to 74 are included. A wonderful opportunity to learn and grow!

Apart from the gifts we buy each other, we buy very few gifts. The gift of our presence and the food we share is the best gift! I appreciate that younger children enjoy gifts. When you take into account the 'Five Love Languages' even for a child, the most important gift may be the gift of time, 'quality time' spent doing something that they love? I would make an effort to ask them what they want to do? What is their favorite food, color and thing they love to do most with you?

A 'gift' child may just love a decorated cone for the Christmas tree or the cone and objects to glue to it!

A 'Words' person would love a poem, expressing your love and hearing you tell them you love them 10 times a day!

An 'Acts of service' child will appreciate you playing a game with them - board game, wii bowling, tennis, golf etc, teaching them how to make a meal, playing cards and if you are stuck for things to do, just ask them?

A 'physical touch' child will love you playing with their hair, braids or brushing it, a shoulder massage or a foot massage, lots of hugs or just an arm on their knee watching TV!

How ever you spend your Festive season, I encourage you to make the most of it!

Love from Down Under

I loved your christmas blog and I hope all that read your tale will have a very special christmas full of love and cheer.

Our christmas is warm here in Australia, with very humid weather. This year we are getting lots of rain, the most we have had in fourty years. It is good for some as we have also had many years of draught, but our fruit and veggies will be very expensive due to the crops getting destroyed in the floods.

In Aus many people are very poor and the shops are feeling it as many people cannot afford to shop this year most of my presents have had to be hand made as this is such a finanuially difficult time this year.

But our family time to gether will be spent around the pool cooking meat and seafood on the BBQ, and enjoying each others company, catching up with friends and family members we have not seen for many years.

So please have a safe and wonderful chrissy as I wish you all the best.

Angie
Love your sentifments and the picture is gorgeous!

"Know that there are many ‘gifts’ of Christmas…the most important ones do not come gift-wrapped." SO TRUE.

I volunteer in a third grade class and had the kids make cards and write a letter to my friend's mother who just entered a nursing home. I know the joy those precious letters will bring her. I cried when I read them they were so sweet.

Have a wonder-filled holiday everyone!
