Does the Past get in the way of your Future…

This morning in my daily meditation, I read a passage from the book of Philippians
that spoke clearly to me about my journey….and relates to each of our walks in life.
It says:

“Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead,
I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me to do…
All of us who are mature should take such a view of things. And if on some point
you think differently, that too will be made clear to you. Only let us live up to
what we have already attained. ”

We so often reminisce about our past...the special events and the not-so-special times.
It is important for us to remember the past and to learn from our experiences, but not to
allow it stand in the way of pressing on with our future.

Holding on to troublesome memories does not serve us in our present or for our future.
Thankfully all of our memories can benefit us in the lessons learned from our experiences.
Cherish those experiences for the light they bring to the present and the
hope they provide for our future.

In Gratitude…

Dear Linda,

You bring up such an important point, especially during this era that we are moving into where the past is falling away very rapidly and the future is being created during our daily NOW time.

We can cherish our past experiences without being so attached to them that we try to drag them forward into our future. The future cannot be created with ease if we fill the 'space' with lots of 'stuff' from our past. :|

Better, it seems, to base our intentions on infinite possibility, newness, beauty, joy and whatever else sparks our creative impulse. :-D

I am visualizing a happy, fulfilling and prosperous future for you and your family, Linda.
