I held my first ever "inspiration in action" braveheart women introduction party last Saturday. Dr. Sugar flew in and as always was Amazing! It was a great time and we have some new women who will be joining us! As with all events there are lessons to be learned and I will say that I did some learning. To be honest I was a bit disappointed with the turn out, yet that is a lesson in preparation, and understanding the law of numbers (which I knew some). Yet in other respects it was a great turnout for the first event. Here are some of the other lessons I learned and will take forward into all aspects of my life: 1) Take control, give direction 2) Be the leader...you are and want to be 3) Qualities of being a speaker....relax and breathe 4) The Art of presentation...as a speaker 5) Strike while the "iron is hot"...as a marketer, how to close a deal 6)Surrounding yourself with Women who have VISION and those who are Inspired. This last lesson was very prominent to me...ever since becoming a braveheart woman and being active with blogging, our events, the release events, phone calls, messages, etc..with all the other women of this community has kept me with women who have a vision of the future for themselves, other women, this community and the world. By hosting this event I had a look at how many women do not see that vision, are having a challenge stretching and growing. But yes there are some who now can and are seeing the vision(s). That is why I had my party, to introduce them to what is available, give them a path to follow, a place to go and a place to grow. I greatly appreciate how much I have been able to grow and expand being in this community and how much each and every woman in this community means to me My party is just beginning as I plan to continue with inspiring the women in this area, now that the door is open. Cat...perhaps this explanation will assist in my meaning. I find here that there are many women whom are stuck in a "lack" mentality, or aren't willing to change...thinking they can't, it is to difficult or something. It makes me really appreciate the women who are willing to step out of the box. Does that answer your question.

Comment to lesson learned #6. I know what you are talking about! There are many people in the world who I lovingly refer to as "rookies". They are not too deep-- young souls-- shallow. (nice people perhaps... but rookies just the same.

I know you are having impact with ALL the right people AT the right time. More and more I am learning this... we never realize who we are impacting and inspiring. Way to go! I'm very happy for you!

Dear Becky,

Well I am inspired by you simply because of being so honest and sharing truthfully how you felt regarding your first party. Being honest that you were disappointed but at the same time sharing that you learned many positive things. I am also inspired that it encouraged you to be more empowered and postive to make the next time even better because of what you learned. I read some of those things you learned and one that stands out for me is "qualities of a speaker". I personally love to socialize and communicate but public speaking? frightens the heck out of me haha.. So I give you credit girl for facing all the responsibilities that went along with hosting this party..That in itself was huge step. So be proud of yourself.

You are an amazing example of what it means to be a BraveHeart Woman...you were so courageous in planning this event and stepping out...a pioneer...as Lisa said......it truly does not matter the results(and I am certain they are much more, deeper, grander than what I am picking up from you) Remember that it keeps on going long after the initial event. Maybe you touched one woman that wanted to end it all....to give up hope.....you showed her a way. You often do not know your impact at the time. You have impacted my life in a profound way. Seriously though, what a great idea. I mean, I do candle parties and workshops, go to a bunch of different social things-- why not have a gathering with more intention?? Fabulous! I do understand what you mean though about the lessons learned in experiences with folks who are not of the BraveHeart (all-encompassing) mentality. I find I have to check my own assumptions/triggers/ mice before jumping to judgement (not saying you are, just me!)
Its interesting to wonder how many seeds got planted though, that may blossom later.
