I came across fascinating information about how much inner control we have over our mindset, our state of mind. Our inner and internal ability to control our mindset is extremely powerful and takes only minor stimulation to activate.

We can intentionally put ourselves into a specific mood (or state of mind - mindset) to enable us to do immediately what is needed to reach our desired goal and outcome in that specific situation. In essence, we can change on a dime.

Unbelievable, I thought. Then situations came to mind where I have experienced and saw this immediate mindset and change, and better results we desire

-- Turn on beautiful music and my mood immediately changes. I felt tired and exhausted from a long, focused working session. The beautiful music plays and I feel and change my state of mind - instant energy, rejuvenation, and even a desire to do more of the work, with the music continuing to play softly in the background. Inner awareness initiates action and immediate results.

-- A mom sees her son in a social distress situation at a picnic. Immediately, even though wearing clogs, she joins the volley ball game to support and encourage the boy. Her distress changes to a smile as she sees her son now enjoying the game. I saw this a couple days ago. Inner control of mindset initiates immediate action and results for son and mom.

-- You are in the midst of trying to solve a challenge, experiencing stress and even frustration because a solution isn't occurring. You call a friend for advice and support. When you hear her voice, an immediate mindset change occurs. You are smiling and feeling joy and even relief when you hear the voice of your friend. You express your feelings and situation. Just talking brings about a solution or at least an improvement.

In each of these situations our mood, our mindset, dramatically changes in a moment resulting in better outcomes. How awesome is that!

Imagine how much better our results will be in many other situations -- when we intentionally place ourselves in a mood (mindset) that moves us to do and feel what needs to be done immediately…. change happens quickly, like a miracle and with ease.

Sounds easy, doesn’t it? As the 3 examples above demonstrate…. it is!

I’m going to be more consciously aware and more deliberate to better control and manage my mood and mindset. How about you?

How right you are indeed! The mind is really very powerful!

Thank you for writing about this.

All the best!
Hello Barbara,

Great post, and like yourself I have witnessed many examples of quick mood changes and therefore increased personal power.

Movement is often the trick for me. If I feel out of sorts, a walk, cycling, lifting a few weights, and stretching enhance the blood flow and before I know it, I feel so much better and more empowered.

Have yourself an awesome 4th of July Weekend. ;)

Great examples, Barbara! When something comes up and we want to change our consciousness, if we can stay in the moment and follow our truth, our mindset automatically changes - for the better.

Controlling the mindset can be easier when we take frequent and tiny breaks. During these times, there are many ways that we can 'amp up' our energy so that when we need it, the extra energy is there to do the needful.

Thank you Barbara for such very helpful examples! :)

Great post and so true. We have the power to change our minds and therefore our patterns of behavior. William James said, "Of all the creatures of earth, only human beings can change their patterns. Man alone is the architect of his destiny. Human beings, by changing their inner attitudes of their minds, can change the outer aspects of their lives." Thanks for the timely reminder.

Peace and blessings.

You're right, Barbara. We can control what goes into our minds and what can affect our moods. Reading something inspirational versus sitting in front of the TV, taking a walk with someone with some encouraging conversation versus sitting around and moping, calling someone who might be lonely and taking "TIME" for them versus being too busy for others -- all of these things can also put us in a better mood or mindset..... We have to be intentional to make these changes but what a great feeling!

Thanks for the great blog!

I re-discovered this today when I listened to Eva Gregory and Jeanna Gabellini about manifesting abundance. Are you familiar with these two people?

Thanks for your reminder.
