Helpdesk: What did you do, exactly?

Barbara~

How funny. I'm sure the HELP DESK people could write a book of funny comments....They MUST be very patient (or at least should be!) Thanks for making me smile!

Thanks Lana for a bit about the other side of the story. Yup, it's time to laugh. Tomorrow is a new day.

Hi Barbara,

I will share a true story that happened to my husband Dave a few years ago when he worked in the service area that dealt with business computers.

He received a 911 service call from the office personnel about a new system that he installed. 90% of the time he would be able to assist them over the phone. This one particular day everything he instructed them to do just wasn't working. The business was one that could not afford any down time so he made the decision to drive 350 miles to the site to make the repair in person.

When he arrived the entire office was in a panic because it took him 6 hours to get there. He immediately went to work and in a matter of 2 minutes he had the problem corrected.

Are you ready for this....the problem was that the main computer cord was unplugged!!!!

The first lesson to be learned is.... don't call the service guy unless you check all the plugs first! (Dave wasn't a happy camper for a few days afterward)

The second lesson if you are the service guy, ask if the plug is plugged in before you drive 6 hours to find that out.

The only computer servicing that Dave deals with these days is with my computer.

I am very grateful for having a live in computer engineer.
