Everything I Need Is Alreay Here

Posted Mar 2, 2010 01:31 PM
I was on my morning inspirational call. My buddy on the call stopped me in my rant about money, and said: 'Repeat after me; Everything I need is already here". She said it over and over.

Maybe that's the best thing that affirmations give us, a chance to stop the pre-programed, preconceived ideas of how our parents and the media have told us how life works.

Where do we get all these notions of scarcity and lack and limitation?

I think because we repeat and hear it so often. Commercials declare we need to 'act now' or forever lose this opportunity. It's how we are manipulated.

Maybe what affirmations do for us, really, is to allow us to open our eyes to how the laws of our world really work. To awaken ourselves we already have and build on a foundation of limitless bounty.

Thank you Barb.
You have a blessed family.
Dear Brie,

Thank you for sharing ... :-x ...

I will share a wise saying my father always shared with us: "Always live within your means." He never made more than about $14,000 in his short life ... He passed on when he was 64 ... Despite our "meager" means, we NEVER knew we were "less than normal" because our parents always made us feel "normal" ... We never seemed to lack for anything, although we were told on occasion that we couldn't afford this or that ... When our family needed a new car, somehow we managed to afford one ... And, there is much more to the story, but I think I'll save that for later because my parents achieved in their lifetime (with their "meager" means) what few of their generation managed to do ... Both were like "Renaissance" people ... They could each do ALL that their role required ... I used to live in "awe" and wondered OFTEN if I could EVER learn everything they both seemed to know so naturally ... (I will NEVER be the cook or the nurse my mother was - I simply do not have the knowledge or the desire although maybe I should ... ;) ... )

It really wasn't until I started in my professional life that I truly realized how little we had growing up ... OMG! ...

Oh well ... growing up we never knew "mother lack" as Dr. Ellie refers to her as ...

I hope this helps you to put all things in perspective ... Life really IS about how we perceive things ... IF we "feel" lack, we "experience" it - no matter how much we DO have ...

Have a wonder-filled day! ... :-x ...

Aloha pume hana,

Barb
Hi Brie

Great way to start your day is with affirmations. I like to begin with Ellie Drakes morning affirmations and end with her evening ones. It is important to not listen to all the negative "commercials" that are driven into our minds 60,000 times a day...whether reading a magazine, listening to the radio or if you watch TV.
