As we begin the month of July, This Nations Birthday, I have reason to give thanks. I am grateful for each son and daughter, father and mother, husband and wife who are willing to sacrifice or who have sacrificed for us, in the name of freedom.

Last month I had the honor of attending a deployment ceremony for the 130th in the Great State of HI. It gave me time to reflect on the soldiers leaving, those preparing to leave and those already "down range". Their families, and those of us whom they have sworn to protect.

This country was founded on much diversity and much adversity. It was founded on the strength of a few. It turned into the strength of many. It started with an the idea of one, then the idea of a few, then the idea of many. What a great creation!

Our country is still in the folds of creation. As BraveHeart Women, we have much of our own diversity. We each have our own unique talents, passions and purposes. We each have our own vision of what we wish to create. We have our own gifts. As BraveHeart Women, we can assist our honored soldiers. We can continue the fight our forefathers began. Not by war, but by acceptance, and placing one foot in front of the other every single day.

Take this day, and everyday this month to honor our great soldiers, and those who gave the ultimate sacrifice, by saying Thank You, by honoring this country, and by doing something to help someone else in need. Every small step will grow into a leap. One person at a time....Imagine what our leaps together can do......

With Much Humility and Gratitude! Flag.jpg

I agree with Barbara -- we all need to be responsible citizens and partner with our soldiers. They are sacrificing so much for us.....Being thankful to them can be shown by thanking them in person when in their presence, praying for them as well as their families, and if possible, encouraging them with cards/gifts....I recently received a note from someone on Twitter who was specifically asking for others to send notes of encouragement to soliders who get very little mail....I made a point to get names and am in the process of sending cards....every little thing we do can make a BIG difference... Let's all pay it forward.... They deserve to be acknowledged as do their families.....

Happy 4th of July -- May we always be the land of the free and the brave

Blessings to all of you!

Aloha Carol

...How beautifully you create the atmosphere to pay it forward. In this nation we know and take for granted things that others world-wide are dying to have - literally.

We are blessed beyond all measure to be part on the union of states created with the premise of liberty and justice for all.

In uncertain economic times such as these - in times where we are conflicted about our international involvements and responsibilities, it is easy to allow ourselves to be in a state of unrest with our nation. As American BraveHeart Women, let us honor the journey, and remain grateful for our immeasurable blessings.

I join you in humble gratitude for those who have gone before, for those who are serving with their all right now, and those who have not yet risen to the challenges of continuing to uphold the ideals of our forefathers.

God Bless America.

Carol,

Thank you for this post, it reminds all us to be grateful!

I must say thay my girls Dad is a Marine.... and having lived the military life, those soldiers deserve our gratitude!!!

I was walking through the Denver airport last month, and there was a soldier in his uniform a few people behind me.... I heard at least 3 times, other people thanking him for his service. I must say, this almost brings tears to my eyes when I hear others being soooo grateful and appreciative, and so willing to express their gratitude.

With Love and Gratitude,

Hi Carol,

The best way we can sincerely thank the soldiers who are risking their lives for our freedom and liberty, I believe, is this.........

We back home on American soil must make sure we do whatever it takes to insure that our country remains a long term a country of freedom, liberty and opportunity for happiness for them, their families and all Americans.

We here on home soil have an awesome responsibility to be partners with our soldiers to insure our freedom and liberty is protected and continues to work.

How can we do that? Some ways:
1. Remain aware of what our country and its government is doing - what laws, regulations, what policies are they proposing and supporting. Learn the truth.

2. With that knowledge, write, speak, call our lawmakers and government officials regularly.

They are mostly insulated from real life. Many have never held any positions except in government, so they don't understand real life, the needs of ordinary citizens, the impact of their proposals.

We have a responsibility to inform and educate them, and to require they make good decisions for the long term.

Most important, government is to work for us, not to restrict our freedom and liberty. They only know we are serious when we stand up and speak to them.

So let's honor our soldiers and honor ourselves by accepting our responsility. Together we can then enjoy a long future of freedom, liberty and opportunity for happiness. Then we honor and inspire the world by our example.

Very grateful for efforts of our soldiers and encouraging every one of us to partner with them by doing our part.

Carol, I love your post! :-x

It rings of a person who loves her country, has pride in her citizens and who chooses to move strongly toward a sense of oneness in diversity.

May I raise my flag - humbly, yet proudly, to all who stand for what our forefathers envisioned: the liberation of the human spirit. :)

Thank you Phoebe for your recognition of the efforts of so many in this country! It takes each of us to remember kindness and be accepting of others to ultimately make a difference. It is heartwarming to have such a warm response from another part of the world!

Thank you! May God Bless you!

Yes, Carol, we have had much diversity and much adversity.

I can't forget the effects of World II on the small town of my childhood, Middletown, Delaware. I remember how my family spoke in hushed tones of how someone else's son had died.

It is a honor Carol to have a vision of what this world can become if we as BraveHeart Women can see beyond the past and look forward to our own "inner strength" overcoming any global obstascles in our present state.

I too give Honor to our soldiers...everyday of the year and look foward to the establishment of peaceful nations.:-x

Dear Carol,

I am grateful for your beautiful post, for you and for the privilege to live in the freedom of America.

We take so much for granted....it is important to pause and reflect on the journey to freedom and to honor those who have sacrificed to protect us and this country.

Let us honor our great military personnel and do our part to help others every day.
The power of small steps together creates momentum to make big changes in the world.
As BraveHeart Women, we are taking action and making those changes together.

With Love and Gratitude for you , my friend...:-x
