12 Laughs a Day to Stay Healthy

Posted Feb 5, 2009 10:32 PM
Hi Dearest BraveHeart Party Friends,

That was so much fun last night!

In order to stay healthy I have heard that one must have at least 12 laughs a day. Well yesterday I am sure I got my 12 laughs in with special thanks to all of my friends who contributed to the 'gab fest' during our time together last night.

It occurs to me that often I will chuckle to myself inwardly but the smile and the sound don't happen. The smile and the sound are the parts of the laugh that are so important.

It would be helpful to me, not only for health reasons, but for inspiration and life-enrichment, if you would give a suggestion or two of what kinds of things make you laugh and how you access these things when you want/need a laugh.

Needing to 'belly-laugh more often!!! :^O

A special 'Hello' to Debra Hadraba!
It takes a BraveHeart Woman to be able to laugh at themselves like you and many others do!

Thanks for your input!

Thanks Audie,
This morning I put the word 'smile' :-Don my mirror here at the hotel in Durango, Colorado, and everytime I looked at it I had to smile. Thanks for your always creative input!
Love,
Rijuta
Dear Rijuta,

Hi!!! I love to laugh....particularly at myself...it is so much better than beating myself up...which I used to do without even realizing half the time. Now that I am aware of it, I sometimes even laugh instead. Yes it was fun last night....I look forward to more of the same. I enjoy your posts.I dont know if I have said hello to you before? I'm glad you're here!

Love,

Debra Hadraba

Ok Ellie, I could bottle of that formula of laughter. I do wonder what was happening on the other side of the camera. Hmm!

Rijuta I had to laugh at my own self for trying to keep up with all the typing of messages. It was a grand party.:-D

Rijuta,

I love to laugh but sometimes when under stress, laughing isn't what I am thinking about.

As of late this little trick has been working well for me. I simply stop for a second and smile. Next thing I know I am laughing about my situation instead of getting upset.

Pawsitively yours,

Audie

Thanks Barbara, for pointing out that we can laugh at ourselves! You made me laugh out loud as I was picturing you going into the next room and making that comment to yourself.

I like your 'Life is a bowl of cherries'. Was it Forrest Gump (movie) who said, "My mother always says, 'Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're going to get next'"

Have a 'Bowl of Cherries Day! ;)

Rijuta,
Just gotta comment on this. I live alone, so no one to do or say funny things or do something silly and laughable ----------- except me/myself.

So I end up laughing at myself a lot. Like when I go into another room to get something, and then say, "What the heck did I come in here for?" I have to laugh at myself, ponder a moment and most times I do remember, thank goodness.

Yup, we need to laugh a lot. Life is a bowl of cherries, if we keep that kind of mindset. Thanks for making that point for us.
