Hi Dessi and welcome to our BraveHeart Community! What a wonderful transition you have made into the 'autumn' of your life. Getting back to your roots sounds idylic for a 'country girl'! I smiled when you said, ' I purchased a treadmill. I have been using this, not only for myself, but for my two dogs also.' Great! you're thinking outside the box, Dessi. Especially admire that you are getting in touch with your 'inner spiritual roots and that core of quietness'. So helpful in order to go forward with utmost fulfilment! Gratitude Dessi for sharing! Rijuta Dear Soulful Sister, Claudia, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Who would guess that you were even close to 50 years old! Congratulations and I am all admiration that you are keeping yourself so fit. Reasons for all of us to work a little more diligently on our fitness: 'My clothes are fitting better and I feel more joyful when I wake in the morning and throughout the day.' Thank you Claudia for your inspiration! Love, Rijuta ps are you sure you just turned 50? Dr. Sugar, thank you for your advice about the special care of our bodies! Enthusiasm is one thing - foolishness is another. Especially for those ladies who have played the role of 'couch potato' most of the winter [are there really any out there?] please be mindful of Dr. Sugar's suggestions. Thank you dear sister for blessing us with your concern! With admiration and gratitude! Rijuta Dear Rijuta: Today is my birthday. It's been a wonderful day spent with friends, good food and champagne. I have been preparing for my 50th by getting in shape. I LOVE to walk, but now I am adding weight training and floor excercises to my routine. My clothes are fitting better and I feel more joyful when I wake in the morning and throughout the day. We must take care of the whole being.... physical, mental, spiritual. love to all soulful sista Claudia Hi, I am a recent new member and still finding my way around the website, but so far I have been so impressed with what I have read. I have found, now that I am in the autumn of my life, the need to get reacquainted with not only my inner self and my spiritualism, which often gets pushed aside in the hustle and bustle of the day, but also attempting to get my body more fit and healthy. I purchased a treadmill. I have been using this, not only for myself, but for my two dogs also. With spring right around the corner, I am also outside doing A Lot of yard work, as I just built a small home for myself last summer and fall. Moving from the city to the country, as I am a country gal at heart, has given me the opportunity to want to get in touch with my roots again. My roots being, not only my physical roots of my very rural upbringing, but my inner spiritual roots and that core of quietness that I have not entertained in many years. I am totally enjoying the opportunity to get in touch with Mother Earth again, by digging and planting flowers and trees, and eventually some garden vegetables. I am looking forward to more of the BraveHeart website also. Rijuta EXCELLENT suggestions my BraveHeart Sister! Walking, qi gong, yoga, pilates, all wonderful ways to get in touch with your body and get your blood moving and your heart puming! We need to challenge the body so we gain physical strength, endurance, flexibility and balance. YES ABSOLUTELY! Yes Dear BraveHearts take Rijuta's advice and get moving - it is one of the best things you can do for your health and to prevent future problems from arising. Use some common sense though ladies - you may not be 18 anymore so when you begin this program and you go out into the beautiful Spring air and you want to jump and run and roll and frolic - go easy - In the Spring time I see so many people coming in with strains, sprains, broken bones and injuries just due to the fact that their bodies are not ready to pick up exactly where they left off last year - - so take the time to warm up before exercise, cool down after exercise, and listen to your body - better to go into it cautiously than have an injury and be out for the rest of the season. To Your Total Wellness, Dr. Sugar Hi Elizabeth, To be 'physically in the winter season of life' is one thing, but more importantly, I like your 'but I feel I am only in the summer or fall of my inner life'. So happy that you have found us, Elizabeth! Tell us more about yourself in your blogs. Warmly, Rijuta Soul-Power Community Thank you for all your sharing - just joined today and have been uplifted and inspired by many of your blog entries. I am physically in the winter season of life (as Jim Rohn would refer to it) but I feel I am only in the summer or fall of my inner life. Your reminders in this blog entry were just what I needed at the moment. Thanks Thank you Michelle. You have found the 'magic' of yoga. Hope many others find their way there also! Yoga and Qi Gong are my favorites! Warmly, Rijuta Soul-Power Community So true for the coming changes, we need to be in balance with our body, mind and soul. I love doing yoga, always connects me with my inner self and quiets the mind.
