A Butterfly Story

Have you heard the story of a cocoon and the butterfly? It is thought to be an old Indian story, author unknown.

As it is told, a man came across a cocoon and noticed an opening in the cocoon, so sat and watched for a few hours as the butterfly was attempting to free itself.

Feeling sorry for the butterfly, the man snipped open the cocoon in order to allow the butterfly to come out. His intentions were good, but the butterfly's wings were withered, it had no strength and so it could not fly.

The unfortunate man did not know that it was the way of nature to force the butterfly to work hard to free itself from its cocoon.
By struggling to free itself, it would strengthen and develop its wings for flight.

What struggles are you having now in your journey? Could it be that you are strengthening yourself so that you will be powerful enough to free yourself? Go through what you must go through, learning, growing, strengthening, developing your inner power, your Soul-Power!

You can free yourself from whatever kind of 'cocoon' you have spun around yourself, slowly, unerringly, gracefully - just like a butterfly!

To your freedom!

Hi ! Brave Heart sister rijuta, I read this story and got the Lesson, "Freedom is the fruit of struggle". We should not feel as trouble to the struggle. Every creature in the world are struggling for their better future. So lets' not be afraid of struggle, struggle is the key for success.

Rijuta,

Thanks for an inspiring story! I'd like to think of the butterfly as dealing with challenges so it can grow, although too often I fall back into thinking about struggles.:-x Certainly we can't grow our own muscles without challenges. Back to the gym!

This story is a blessing. It reminds us that there is a reason for everything. Even something as seemingly small as a cocoon has a purpose. Every problem and situation that we experience has the ability to strengthen and grow us/prepare us for the next step in our lives. Without the cocoons of our lives we would not become the beautiful butterflies we were destined to be.

I think our challenge is in knowing when it is time to get free from the cocoon. We can stay in to long and end up dying in there. Getting free is a struggle, but it has to be done to move forward to our new beginning. Whatever the situation, you have to press to get free.

This is one of my favorite new beginning stories, thank you for sharing it.
Rijuta,

What a beautiful story!
At times it is a challenge not to ease the way for someone else...to soften their path when they are struggling....especially for our children when they are trying to find their way. But Life is is a great teacher and we must experience all it has to offer to become strong and survive...:)

I have learned when faced with a challenge....like a broken arm or illness....it is just the time when I have reached a place to stop, breathe and re-evaluate my life. It is a time of great peace and fulfillment to re-energize and move forward with renewed commitment and energy.

Thanks for sharing this lesson of Life...:-x

Wow! Rijuta!

What a beautiful way to encourage someone today! I happen to be in the midst of such struggle to free myself from my current business to be able to follow my passion!!!

Thank you for your post!!! You have encouraged me today!!!!

You are loved,

Zuly
Dear Linda,

Sometimes a broken arm is exactly what it takes to stop us in our tracks :O so we can re-assess, be aware of how we are not in alignment with our values and then go forward again - only this time in a little different direction.

I am happy about you enjoying your time with the women on our BraveHeart site - broken arm and all! ;)

With admiration and love,

Rijuta,

I loved your butterfly story. That's exactly how life is isn't it? And yes, I do know WHY I have this broken arm right now. Because had I not, I wouldn't have had the time to spend on the computer and meet such wonderful women on BraveHeart Women Community. Having such a busy life, I don't often take the time to take care of me. So, this is my time to figure some things out that I always put on the back burner!

So, I am enjoying having MY TIME - broken arm and all!

Much love...
Bravo Deborah! :-D

I have often found Rijuta for myself that if I am having an inner struggle...I solve it by staying silent and working harder to free myself. Many times the intent to assist others will weaken them and drive them back to a "pity party" and I certainly don't believe in them for myself anymore.:-D
