Connect With Nature and Your 53 Natural Senses
7 Comments
Dear Melissa, There is no doubt that nature's profound healing can perform miracles as in your history that you speak of. The beauty, the magic, the mystery of being in and with nature is unparalleled! Thank you for sharing your experience! With admiration and love, Rijuta Soul-Power Community How true are these words? For me this re connecting with nature saved my life. When I was at my lowest, when I found myself in bed for two months without the desire to get up, it was the natural beauty that I found myself surrounded by that helped in my healing. Reading this post I can't help but wonder if my soul led me there on purpose, because there was a deeper part of me was ready to heal from the past hurts and traumas I had experienced in my life up until that point. If I were to quote something from one of my journal entries from that time period it would be an example of one of those senses awakening within me. Thank you for sharing this knowledge. It speaks volumes to me, and helps me to understand better a part of my awakening. With love, Melissa Sarazin Diane, I so appreciate your discussion of how you connect with nature. Joy, besides your visit to the local creek "to re-connect with Mother Earth and get my grounding re-established," I noticed on your profile page that you enjoy your garden - another intimate and enriching experience for you on a daily basis! And, of course, for your granddaughter. Lynette, like you, I am grateful to my Dad who loved nature dearly. Even on the last day of his life, he wanted to see 'outdoors'. For our vacations, we camped in the pines, on the ocean side and any other place that was beautiful and green. Other times, berry picking, evening fishing on a silent lake, eating a raw carrot from our garden and picnicking at our beautiful parks in Connecticut was our life style. Gratitude Mom and Dad! Dr. Sugar, your description of your retreats is the same as mine: "why I love the women's retreats so much. It is so absolutely awe-inspiringly - breathtakingly beautiful there!" Thank you for choosing such an exquisite location! Thank you BraveHeart ladies for enhancing our lives by sharing your love of nature! Rijuta Soul-Power Community Rijuta MMMMmmmm perhaps this is yet another reason why I love the women's retreats so much. It is so absolutely awe-inspiringly - breathtakingly beautiful there! Thanks for a inspiring and reminding me to connect regularly with nature in order to .... feel re-connected to our larger self; we feel rejuvenated; we luxuriously 'swim' in the natural world with a new understanding of our world and of our life; we re-connect with our Soul-Power. To Your Total Wellness, Dr. Sugar Your own Community Doctor- Isn’t that Sweet!! Thank you Rijuta for a wonderful reminder. Spending time in nature has always served me well and I look forward to doing so this summer. Developing a love for nature was the greatest gift my father gave me. Picking berries, fishing on a quiet lake, visiting the mountains are some of my fondest memories as a child. Perhaps it was because that is also when I saw my parents at their best. Have yourself a wonderful weekend, Lynette http:/ This is so true! I go to a local creek to re-connect with Mother Earth and get my grounding re-established. It is so important to my psyche and well-being to make several visits a year to stay focused on what I want to accomplish on my path. I live in a city of over 350,000 people, yet in the midst of London Ontario are many park and treed areas that make you feel as if you were in the country. But even more than these areas I enjoy the true country. Occasionally I am called on to look after a friend's dog (it used to be 3, but 2 have died). On one side of the house is a cattle farm, behind and on the other side are fields--wide-open spaces that capture my attention. I stayed there one weekend not long ago. The weather was perfect--warm, sunshiny days with just enough clouds to make the sky interesting to gaze at. I sat out on the back patio for hours just soaking in the sun, the breeze, the sounds and smells of the country. I watched a little chipmunk run past me early each evening to retrieve something unseen by me out of a nearby flowerpot and then scamper back again around the corner of the house. And I read. This brings such relaxation, such peace, such joy. I love the darkness and silence of night in the country. I can almost feel it. The whole experience is akin to a holiday though I am only a half-hour's drive from home. I have friends who cannot be satisfied unless they are constantly going somewhere. I have a friend who is nearly 99 years old who, if she can't find someone to take her somewhere each day, is depressed by it. I have another friend who loves to live on a noisy street where there is a lot of traffic, people constantly passing by on foot. Though that is the situation I live in, if I had the option of living in the quiet of the country I would choose that. So often people are so connected to things, to other people, to activity and noise that they lose connection with their inner selves. When I see people with an earphone or cell phone tapped into their heads, in the middle of the grocery store or restaurant, walking down the street, I often wonder if they really cannot stand their own thoughts. I believe this is partially the reason for so much hyperactivity, aggression, etc. I am so glad the Lord has given me the ability to enjoy the beautiful world He has created. I can't imagine life any other way. Diane Stephenson
