ist1_9462849-handfull-of-fruits.jpgWhen we create a nurturing lifestyle, we not only benefit ourselves, but all who are near and dear to us benefit as well. :)

To nurture ourselves, we want to provide nourishment for the health and well being of every aspect of ourselves: for our body, mind, emotions and spirit or soul.

As we nourish outwardly, we are also nourishing inwardly and also the opposite is true.

Nurturing outwardly may include eating fresh and nutritious food, being active with some form of fitness exercise, taking rest when necessary or simply drinking lots of pure water.

To nurture inwardly, we can listen to soothing or inspiring music, walk or be in nature in some way, visit with an inspiring friend or pray and meditate.

We sometimes forget in the hustle and bustle of each day to nurture ourselves. During this past week, two of my friends had experiences that illustrate.

My first friend had made a commitment to be somewhere one evening and found that she was doubled over in pain. Instead of releasing herself from the commitment, she went for her appointment anyway. Long story made short, the following day she drove herself to the hospital where she was operated on for a ruptured appendix. :( Is there a lesson here? :8}

My second friend, instead of first preparing her icy sidewalk with salt [we have been having many snow storms here in New York], she walked on it anyway. Long story made short, she ended up in the hospital being operated on for a broken ankle. :_| Is there a lesson here? :|

Both friends have moved out of the hospital but are still not home - one is in a friend's home and the other in a rehab place. Each has voiced their intention to be more consciously caring and nurturing of themselves. :)

In what ways can you be more consciously caring of yourself so you can create a nurturing lifestyle? :-x

To your vibrant health and wellbeing ~ ~ ~

Deborah,

Love your definition of nurturing..."it sounds like caring with a lot of love and special attention". :-x

Nurturing, to me, is a warm and homey word.
Like I would feel on a cold winter's night as I wrap up in a cozy blanket with a hot cup of tea and a good book. :)

Like that you say: "I have learned to care for me and others with unconditional love." Way to go, Deborah!

Great, Debra, now you have made the act of doing some kind of exercise every day :-D a part of your daily routine. It is a habit; you are disciplined about it - part of your way of life.

Now if you can slow down enough to add one more little thing to your routine each day, ;) you will be nourishing your self (your life) even more. Taking a 15 minute bath while listening to your favorite music can be fun and relaxing! Or, cooking one special meal for yourself every day.

Lots of good ideas!

Gratitude,
Rijuta

Rijuta, I like hearing the words nurturing...it sounds like caring with a lot of love and special attention, which is how I have learned to care for me and others with unconditional love. :-x

Thank you Rijuta,

I appreciate this heartfelt post. I must admit....I rarely take the time to do nice things for myself. I like baths and cooking good food, prayer, listening to music....all those things....but I am always go-go-go. I would probably say that I just don't have the time"today", maybe tomorrow. I am changing. Sometimes I do slow down......not often though.

I have learned my lesson about things like shoveling, doing things while driving....actually doing more than one thing at a time entirely...especially involving machinery...I guess I still have a headset and talk on the phone while doing any mindless computer stuff, etc. I am more aware....more present.

I do now take time for exercise EVERYDAY...whether it be the YWCA or a walk or something. Sometimes I "think" I dont have time but I do it anyway because it makes me feel good. I started doing this again this year. I always used to and I always like it... but I stopped...under the guise of Just not enough time!

Love:-x

Dear BH Release Sister, Darlene,

It seems that your intention to nurture your Soul and be kind to yourself is being carried out by your daily actions!

I love that you find yourself being kind to yourself :)- we can only be kind to others to the same degree that we are kind to ourselves.

It certainly helps to be consciously aware of the ways in which we nurture ourselves - And you are consciously aware!

Thank you for helping to 'nourish' this blog through your comments and your presence. :-x

My Dear Sister Rijuta,

My intention is to nurture my Soul, be kind to me. Since meeting my BH Sisters I have been listening to Ellie's affirmations almost every morning and evening without exception. I speak kinder to me and I believe that assists me in being kinder to others.

I am surrounded with my books especially on manifesting and have put together my "WHAT IS" manifestation box. I also(have missed a couple evenings), but God and I have a conversation. I ask him to provide me the strength, courage, passion to fulfill my purpose on this realm...to BE the best I can for the following day. I thank him for the learning I did that day, and let him know that I am grateful for my life, my health, my friends.

And I do many things that make me feel happy like talking to my great sisters on this site.Great Sisters like you!!!

Thank you for the nourishing blog...I am reminded and am aware what is required for me inside and out.

Love your BH RELEASE Sister,
Darlene
Great Lisa!

So that's why you always have a sparkle in your eyes - you nurture yourself in so many ways! :-D ;)

My Tv is also off most of the time. That leaves room for doing so much more that is of greater value!

Thanks for sharing your habits with us ~
Enjoy a nurturing day!

Rijuta,
Thank you ! My husband and I are trying to eat lighter and healthier dinners and I agree with nurturing our ears , we only turn on the TV for American Idol and we did watch some Olympics but other than that my TV is never on and we only listen to material that feeds our mind and soul !
Thank you again for this !
Have a Great Day !
Lisa
