For a Fruitful Life, We Seek Rain as Well as Sunshine

Yesterday as I was walking home after having left my car for repair of my air conditioning, I passed a church with a sign in front that said: "For a fruitful life, we seek rain as well as sunshine."

As I walked I began to feel the significance of what was written.

If we want a fruitful life, we are going to need those things that help us to grow. We will need the things that nourish us, even though we may not 'like' them. We will also need those things that provide contrast so that we can more fully appreciate and feel deeper gratitude for what we do have.

Rain is fun to play in and feel on our face.
A gentle rain is beautiful to watch.
Rain can surprise us with a rainbow.
Rain helps our plants and flowers grow.
Rain washes away the dust of the past.
Rain returns precious water to earth.
Rain is a magical phenomenon - all of those rain drops falling from the sky!

And perhaps the most wondrous thing about seeking rain and receiving that which we seek, is that even as it rains, the sun is always shining - every time - without exception! ;) :)

I am reminded of the saying
it takes lemons to make lemon-aid
or every rose has a thorn
truly we must be aware that it is out of the times of rain that we often learn so much about life - - it is the rain that makes us who we are - - - it is the rain that gently molds us and builds our brave and bold hearts into the inspirational beings that we are today.
Rain makes the Sunshine so much sweeter!
Love,
Dr. Sugar

P.S. I sent you a message in my blog - did you receive it?
Rijuta,
I was walking in rain the other day and it felt so wonderful cool, crisp and smelled so fresh, it made me feel so happy and exhilarated. I wanted to stay out longer just to play.
peace

Dear Grazyna, I too love the most ethereal of all of nature's blessings: the rainbow. :)

Dear Ariandel, so sorry to hear of all of the flooding in your town. Fortunately, you escaped having it touch your home. We would love for you to begin blogging - you have so much to say!!! After all, you are a BraveHeart Woman!!! ;)

Dear Cineme
, how sweet to discuss the rain in this way with Amadi! It simplifies and puts a whole other 'color' on a rain 'event'. Children can easily identify with their 'friends' (plants, flowers and trees) needing a drink from the rain. :-D

Dear Lisa, my family used to be campers and one of our delights was to wake in the morning after it had rained. The forest had such purity about it and the fragrance of newness and freshness was so energizing. We loved it. Thank you for your kind words. :)

Dear Chickee,
little things mean a lot!!! ;)

Thank you dearest BraveHeart sisters for adding to the sunshine of our day! B-) :-D :-x
Loving gratitude,
Rijuta

Dear Rijuta, I love the way you take inspiration from the "little" things around you, like the church sign.

Hi Rijuta,

This is so apt as Amadi and I were discussing this very concept just yesterday!

Amadi said she didn't like it when it rained and I reminded her of the need for the plants, flowers and trees to get a good drink now and then just as we all do, and that it clears the air.

You put it alot more beautifully though - thank you.

Love,

Chineme
Hello Rijuta, I enjoy reading your blogs. I have not created my own blog nor uploaded the photo's I would like to share because somehow I have not got the knack yet. I am pleased that I have been able to leave comments and plan to move on to more skills with Braveheart Women. Leaving comments on your blog has given me that confidence to do more.

Speaking of rain, we have had three floods in four months earlier this year. Our Bellinger river broke the banks and covered the bridge and we on the north side could not get to town. Our local FM radio station was still working even when the river came up and flooded the studio. Right until it was too dangerous to continue on air. Perhaps I should get the courage to start my own blogging and tell some stories. After all I am a Brave-Heart Woman. Cheers Ariandel.
The nicest thing about having rain and sunshine together is that we also get a rainbow. :-x
