Do You Keep a Gratitude Journal?

Posted Jan 18, 2009 10:04 PM
Dear Friends,

Rediscovering the benefits of keeping a Gratitude Journal was one of my entries in my Journal two days ago when I again began a new Gratitude Journal.

I had been keeping a Gratitude Journal for quite a few months and really enjoyed the process because it showed me in black and white so many things in my life that I could be grateful for.

Coming home from a trip last fall, I injured my right wrist by yanking my suitcase from the turntable. There was a lot of pain and I wasn't able to write or use my hand. So . . . I stopped making my daily entries. At the same time, I had almost run out of pages in the book I was using. Two good 'excuses' not to continue.

Habits broken are often forgotten. It occurred to me several times that I should start another Journal but I never took myself up on those inner promptings.

Then last week several things happened that brought gratitude tears and I again began my postings. I am so happy that I started again. It changes and uplifts my consciousness and creates a lovely curtain against which I create my day.

Gratitude tears for Gratitude Journaling,

Thank you Cat (channel24) for offering ideas for which we can feel grateful. :)
As most of us do not keep track of the quarters or the moon phases, we can feel that any time is a good time to offer gratitude for your unique ideas.

Although you do not keep a gratitude journal on paper, you are keeping one in your heart.
Inspiring!

Gratitude,

Hi Rebecca,
Agree: Gratitude, Love, Appreciation, Creation are all linked so beautifully!
Thank you for your reminder: "if you want to change your habit of judging, take on the attitude of gratitude." :)

Gratefully,

I don't keep a gratitude journal, but I do make time to acknowledge things in my life for which I am thankful.

I have synthesized the Esbat (lunar) observances of Neopagan/Wiccan practice with the beliefs of modern mysticism, and perform a simple gratitude ritual once a week, reflecting the phases of the moon. (A great way to tune in to the cycles of the sky!)

At the First Quarter, I give thanks for all the wonderful things that are on their way into my life -- an expression of faith.
At the Full Moon, I give thanks for all the blessings that are in my life now -- gratitude at its purest.
At the Third Quarter, I look for the silver lining in things that I wish weren't in my life -- finding a way to be grateful for things I might otherwise not be.
And at the New Moon, I give thanks for the empty spaces in my life that form the vacuum for good things to rush into -- accepting the "dark" places for exactly what they are.

Just another idea that may inspire someone...

Awesome reminder of the power of giving thanks.  To have appreciation is to have LOVE.  I once read "if you want to change your habit of judging, take on the attitude of gratitude."  We live in a vibrational Universe, with which we conciously co-create and ironically gratitude is the same frequency as creation.  That which you think on, you become.  So YES, In EVERYTHING give thanks!
