187602_woman_in_marble.jpgAlthough we honour our mothers on Mothers Day, the second Sunday in May in the USA, mothers everywhere occasionally enjoy a little inspiration to help fulfill their awesome role of motherhood.

Following are a few inspiring quotes. I hope you will feel that one or two inspire you! :)

1) My mother was the most beautiful woman I ever saw. All I am I owe to my mother. I attribute all my success in life to the moral, intellectual and physical education I received from her. - George Washington, U.S. President

2) Men are what their mothers made them. Ralph Waldo Emerson

3) The heart of a mother is a deep abyss at the bottom of which you will always find forgiveness. Honore de Balzac

4) My mother had a slender, small body, but a large heart - a heart so large that everybody's joys found welcome in it, and hospitable accommodation. -Mark Twain

5) No gift to your mother can ever equal her gift to you - life. Author Unknown

6)Mothers hold their children's hands for a short while, but their hearts forever. Author Unknown

7) She is my first, great love. She was a wonderful, rare woman - you do not know; as strong, and steadfast, and generous as the sun. She could be as swift as a white whiplash, and as kind and gentle as warm rain, and as steadfast as the irreducible earth beneath us.-D H Lawrence

8) When I stopped seeing my mother with the eyes of a child, I saw the woman who helped me give birth to myself.-Nancy Friday

9) The most important thing a father can do for his children is to love their mother. Author Unknown

10) Who is it that loves me and will love me for ever with an affection which no chance, no misery, no crime of mine can do away? It is you, my mother.-Thomas Carlyle

Hi Debra,

Thank you for sharing about how your Mom can sing! :-D

It seems she is doing much more than singing; she is communicating in a very special way. ;)

Part of her beauty is expressed through her singing and perhaps even through her whistling (my mom and her mom were good whistlers - off and on throughout the day.) Now we know where you got your singing voice!

I am sure your Mom's soul is happy that you are thinking about her so often.
You can tell her tomorrow!
:-x
Happy Mothers Day to you too.

Hi Rijuta,

thank you for the beautiful quotes...I love DH Lawrence

My mom has a beautiful singing voice.....and she can whistle really well(I cannot no matter how she tried to teach me)......she is always singing some song.....or singing her responses to things....I catch myself doing it too:O out loud.....she sometimes will sing a super high, super loud note....when there is a lot of chaos going on in the house.....to kind of clear the air.....and we start over....so my quote is "my mom can sing"

I love all these posts about motherhood....I am not a mother....but it has made me think a lot about my mom....thank you!

Sincerely,

Debra

Hello Krista,

Yes, standing by and allowing our children to make mistakes is one of the most difficult things to do. It requires lots of love, faith that what you are doing is the best for them and being ready to pick up the pieces when necessary.
Most mothers are excellent 'dancers'!

Thank you Krista for cheering on all of our wonderful BraveHeart Women!
Happy Mothers Day! :-x

Dear Rujita and Linda,

Your thoughts are both so right on... we are supporters -- cheerleaders at times and at other times firm guiders. We stand by and allow our children to make mistakes knowing they have to learn from them, yet always there, if needed/wanted, with love.

Barbara, thanks for sharing your thoughts and your wisdom gained from your mother who recently died. However, she obviously is very strongly alive in your heart!

Many special wishes to all -- those who have children and those who represent Motherhood in just as special and meaningful ways.

Blessings,

Krista

Hi Rijuta,

Thank you for the collection of beautiful quotes.

This one in particular brings back fond memories when my children were in preschool. They made a tracing of their little hand and decorated the card with this quote on it. That was a very special mother's day for me.Mothers hold their children's hands for a short while, but their hearts forever. Author Unknown

Happy Mother's Day to all of my BraveHeart Sisters

Dear Linda,
I love your prayer-wish: "May we daily be reminded to create positive energy for them (our own children) as they journey to become the person they were born to be." :-x

". . . to become the person they were born to be." Each child-soul has a mission.
Mothers are supporting and allowing, a sometimes difficult line to walk.

Thank you Linda. Beautifully and simply stated!

Rijuta,

Thank you for sharing the beautiful quotes to inspire us to celebrate and honor our mothers. :)

Our mother is our nurturing source and shapes the pattern of our lives. It is an awesome responsibility as we think about our own children and our influence on them. May we daily be reminded to create positive energy for them as they journey to become the person they were born to be.

I read a quote today and the source is unknown...
"Mothers hold their children's hand for a short while, but their hearts forever."

With Gratitude for the love of Mothers...:-x

Dear Barbara,

Thank you for so beautifully honouring your Mom, valuing her even more now that she has left our material world. :-x

Your love for your Mom and all that she was to you is now manifesting in and through you to enrich the lives of those you touch.

Thank you Barbara for your Mothers Day recommendaton: "I recommend that every mom reflect on her value and acknowledge and compliment herself for all she has given to her family and the world!"

I bow to the mother in you, :-x

Honoring mothers and motherhood is so pertinent to me, and maybe others. My mom left us for a better place at Christmas time, 2008.

I appreciate my mother, her example, teachings, and whisper advice more than ever after she's left us on this earth by ourself.

Now I am the oldest generation, the oldest sibling, the mom and Grandma (no more 'my mom' or great grandmother) to my sons and grandchildren.

I am seeing my mom and her influence, her teaching, in a whole new way. She had some phenomenal wisdom that already is manifesting itself in the world. She knew and informed us!

Now, it's my responsibility and my joy to share wisdom, lessons learned, joy and all with my family. Some may be readily accepted now, and some may come to their attention at some distant future time.

I recommend that every mom reflect on her value and acknowledge and compliment herself for all she has given to her family and the world!

A happy Mother's Day to all moms.

Thank you Sue,
"Reflecting God in our lives causes us to touch others in a beautiful loving way." :-x

All mothers influence the lives of not only their children, but of all who surround their daily lives - whether or not they try.
When one thinks of the implications of this influence, we must offer our gratitude for such a divine opportunity.

Where would this world be without mother love? :)

Phoebe,

Thanks for sharing that and thanks for the beautiful quotes, Rijuta. Isn't it amazing what influence we can have in the lives of others, as mothers, as well as all in our lives who look up to us? Reflecting God in our lives causes us to touch others in a beautiful loving way.

Happy Mother's Day.. :-x

Happy Mothers day to all including me :)
Dear Phoebe,
What a beautifully sweet story!

This is an example of the expression of mother love for one of God's little children.
Thank you for sharing! :-x

And I love your "Mother's LOVE is a Free Gift that cannot be measured, estimated, or returned back !"
