Need to Ground Yourself? Here is How

Posted Mar 5, 2009 08:45 AM
For those who are feeling a bit scattered, light-headed, as if there is a disconnect with your daily efforts, or simply out of sorts and don't know why, perhaps you need to ground yourself.

Grounding oneself has to do with the base chakra, which serves to harmonize and balance us to the earth energies. As a yoga instructor and yoga therapist, I am always surprised to see how many persons need to ground themselves.

Last week I suggested two simple ways to my Soul-Power Community. Below are other suggestions. I invite you to experiment to see if one or more add to your life experience.

- Spend time out in nature
- Surround yourself with nature in your home with houseplants, flowers, herbs and pictures or photos on the walls
- Use the color red as an accent. This color is associated with the base chakra
- Meditate and begin by visualizing yourself in a natural setting such as forest, seaside, shells, sand, rocks
- Eat fresh vegetables and fruits
- Massage with essential oils that come from trees whose roots go deep into the earth
- Homemaking helps by caring for the home, the garden, the people in your life

The more grounded we are to the earth energies, the more easily we can access the higher vibrational energies.

Have a happy and grounded day!

No wonder My favorite color is red. Now to fall in line with everything else. My major problem is being inside to much. I don't go outside enough. Well I can fix that.B-)

Linda, you must practice grounding daily because you are busy 24 x 7 !!! Way to go!

Hedy, I had to chuckle when you mentioned the nurse midwife who imagines something like light sabers shooting down into the earth to ground quickly and dynamically. :-D

I guess it doesn't matter as long as we get the job done! I like the idea of carrying a light saber, not to slay but to illumine (i.e. to touch as in the sport of fencing).
Thank you for sharing!

Rijuta,

Thanks for all the wonderful suggestions--I feel more grounded just reading about them!

Grounding does help so much. I know a nurse midwife who goes from room to room at the birthing center, and at the door to each, she grounds, because there's often tons of emotion and fear. Because she hasn't much time, she said doesn't imagine roots going into the earth, she imagines something like the light sabers from Star Wars shooting down! :^O I like the old fashioned way myself, but I'm not in a constant crisis type situation where you need your light saber.

Gratefully,
Hedy
Thank You, Dear Rijuta...

Grounding yourself makes ALL THE DIFFERENCE in your day!
My whole energy changes... and I am in joy and at peace and much more productive.

In Gratitude and Joy... :-x
