Earl Nightingale is famous for telling the story of 'Acres of Diamonds'. He tells of a farmer who got so excited about finding diamonds that he sold his land to go out and search for diamond mines. He searched everywhere for a diamond mine yet found nothing.

The story goes that the person who bought this farmer's land found that he actually had on his land one of the largest diamond mines ever discovered. The farmer who sold his land had been literally standing on acres of diamonds.

Diamonds in the rough look like pieces of black coal and because he didn't recognize what a 'raw' diamond looked like, he missed out on the treasure he already had.

How are we like that farmer of long ago and what is our lesson? Instead of developing the possibilities that we have within reach in our current situation, we are constantly searching elsewhere for life's treasures, feeling that the grass is greener on the other side.

What treasures do you have in your life that you have overlooked and failed to appreciate?
Look around you carefully with the intention of finding at least one 'diamond' today.

What does that diamond look like? A piece of coal? A child's smile? A Grandpa's whiskers? A dusty old jar?
Look carefully! I am sure you will find something in your 'acres of diamonds'!

My 'diamond' for the day: today I e-mailed one of my cousins I hadn't been in touch with for months. She is sending three quilts to me that she feels I would like to have. They are hand made by our Grandmother. A very nice and memorable diamond to find!

Take the time to look for your 'diamond' today!
What did you find?

Dear Rijuta,

I just finished rereading Many Lives, Many Masters & felt inspired to share this with you*

In a dream, Brian Weiss asked a question to the Masters.  How is it that you say all are equal, yet the obvious contradictions smack us in the face:  inequalities in virtues, temperance’s, finances, rights, abilities and talents, intelligence, ad infinitum?”

The answer was a metaphor.  “It is as if a large Diamond were to be found inside each person.  Picture a diamond a foot long.  The Diamond has a thousand facets, but the facets are covered with dirt and tar.  It is the job of the Soul to clean each facet until the surface is Brilliant and can reflect a rainbow of colors.

“Now, some have cleaned many facets and glean brightly.  Others have only managed to clean a few; they do not sparkle so.  Yet, underneath the dirt, each person possesses within his or her breast a Brilliant Diamond with a thousand gleaming facets.  The Diamond is perfect, not one flaw.  The Only differences among people are the number of facets cleaned.  But each Diamond is the same, and each is Perfect!

“When all the facets are cleaned and shining forth in a spectrum of lights, the Diamond returns to the Pure Energy that is was originally.  The Lights remain.  It is as if the Process that goes into making the Diamond is reversed, all that pressure released.  The Pure Energy exists in the rainbow of lights and the lights possess Consciousness and Knowledge.  And all of the Diamonds are perfect.”

I LOVE your Soul Power blogs, Rijuta*

Hey Rijuta!!
Thank you for adding me as your friend!! There is so much going on around here that I was having a bit of trouble getting around.
And what a beautiful story that was!! Oh, and by the way, you were my diamond today :).

Sending with my love, my positive energy.
Mariana
Janice, as long as our diamonds far outweigh the coal surrounding us, we can go forward with ease.
To answer your question, Janice, I am from the USA.
I have taken Rijuta as my 'spiritual' name offered by my teacher. And Janaki?
Thank you for asking.
Warmly,
Rijuta
Rijuta, thank you for reminding me of what I am so blessed to have, a house, a loving husband, a beautiful daughter, friends, family and the wonderful kootenays that I live in. This is all truly a diamond and the dark coal surrounding it is often frustration, self doubt and a yearning for more.

Rijuta is this a hindi name? Are you from India or is this a given name from a teacher?

Sincerly

Janice
