Thrilled With My Organic Tomato Plants

Last summer I had mostly tomato plants in my tiny garden (I say tiny because my Dad had a garden that required a tractor.) I also had peppers, cucumbers, eggplant, basil and parsley, but my tomatoes were most plentiful. I bought regular plants from the nursery and they tasted most delicious.

This year, while shopping at one of the huge organic markets, I noticed that they had a large outdoor section of organic plants. Needless to say, I stopped by and bought 5 or 6 organic tomatoes - nothing else. I felt they would be more healthful than the ones from the nursery. Since then we have had so much rain, that I did not plant any other vegetable.

Two days ago I picked my first organic cherry tomatoes, ripe off of the vine. OMG~ they were so sweet and tasty. I didn't even wait until I got inside to wash them. I ate them right then and there. Pure delight! I had a 'living in the moment' experience.

Here I was, wondering what Mother Nature was up to with so much rain. But she gave me her most delicious bounty anyway!
Today I got a few more, including a couple of larger tomatoes.

Why am I writing about my organic tomatoes? Because I want to offer my gratitude to the Universe for the simple pleasures of life. I guess I could say 'Mother Nature' is one of my treasures that I cherish.
