Do Women and Men of Vision Have the Same Values? Try U Thant!

One of the most famous quotes by U Thant, former Burmese Secretary-General of the United Nations: "Every human being, of whatever origin, of whatever station, deserves respect. We must each respect others even as we respect ourselves."

As a Buddhist, U Thant was keen on fostering the intellectual, moral and spiritual development of each human being. Isn't this what most women of high values are all about?

Yesterday, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon paid tribute to U Thant at a Commemoration Luncheon held at the UN Delegates Dining Room. I was fortunate to be in attendance to witness the historical event.

What occurred to me was that women have very much the same values as those lofty values of men of vision. What lofty values have you? Do you agree with U Thant?
