Just a couple days ago, I was wishing to myself for just one day to catch up on a few things...... Well I GOT IT!!! Last night my 4 year old seemed to be fighting extra hard to go bed.... telling me her stomach hurt. I still convinced her to go to bed. At about 11:30 (I had just fallen asleep) I heard a faint yet terrified voice saying "MOMMY" She was standing at my bedside covered in vomit. She has got sick in her bed, while sound asleep, and was therefore covered. I got her cleaned up, got the bed cleaned up, and put her in my bed. I got her situated with a bowl, and a large towel to avoid stripping another bed! My poor daughter continued to heave about every 15 - 20 min until almost 4am.... WHICH MEANT I WAS STAYING HOME!!!!!!! As she couldn't go to daycare and I don't have anyone else here to watch her. Well not only was I exhausted, I hadn't really been to sleep yet, but I also have a 3 year old who was not sick and required my full attention as well. I guess the moral to my story is be more specific in what you ask for!!! I got to stay home and spend the day with my girls, got caught up on some cleaning, organizing, and even a little sleep! And now they are both great! We had an excellent girls day!!!! With Love, Crystal

Dear Crystal,

I love how you always find the silver lining! As I read through your post, my heart went out to your little one and you (for lack of sleep -- that's still very present in my life, too!), and I thought "oh, what a bummer". (My family recently went through 2 whole months of one or more of us being sick, so I was focusing on that!) Then, you write that you got what you asked for, to stay home. :^O

Truly, you are a blessing in this community and to your girls to be able to turn things around to the positive and see the humor in life. :-x

Amazing thing also is how fast the universe responds! Even though your daughter was ill you had a blessing by getting to spend the extra time with them both. I bet they enjoyed the day also :-x

Hi Crystal,

I am sure the kind of day "to get caught up on things" that you were wishing for didn't include having a sick kid. But I'll bet it is a day that you will remember for awhile!

Yes the universe does hear with a big ear......I also just took a day off and it was amazing how good I feel to have just been in my home for a full day ...And yes I did dance and shake my hips....I m so glad your little one is better!
