Community

First real post here. I have to say I am impressed with the strength of this network- being new, I am still feeling my way around and getting used to things.

People love to be part of a community. Very few are comfortable with living at the edge, and that is why I think that the social media sites are so popular- and important. They keep people connected.

I remember reading several years ago about what was called the disintegration of society- with people being so mobile, the connections just weren't as strong in community, people suggested. But I think social media has stepped in and bridged those gaps pretty neatly. It is relatively easy to find community through twitter, Facebook, and online social sites like this.

And it's all about connecting!
