The Healing Power of Silence!

Posted Dec 9, 2009 01:24 PM
As 2009 comes to a close, I have been reflecting on the events of this year and I must say, I'm truly amazed at all the opportunities, challenges and deep sisterhood connections I have made. All I can say is WOW I'm so grateful! What an amazing year this has been and, I truly believe, this is just the beginning.

With 2010 being only a few weeks away, I have been having this powerful urge to be very still and silent in order to truly connect to God, myself, and the Universe. Because I so deeply believe in spiritual power, I sense that there is a purpose to my desire in order to help me develop a, dare I say, divine strategic plan for 2010. In truth, I feel this for anyone willing to stop and just be still.

Here's what I'm learning:

Stillness and silence powerfully connects me to God's divinity and the Universe's energy. Stillness and silence moves me from consciousness to nonconsciousness where truth resides. It brings dreams and visions to life. For the first time in a very long while, I can feel the energy of creation and life all around me. It's an amazing experience feeling vibration, stamina, and vitality. We, as women, are so good at being busy, moving all the time. Learning to be still can help you feel yourself be deeply moved by the power of God and the Universe.

I'm also experiencing a deeper sense of clarity. While meditating, I had a vision of several puzzle pieces floating around me and as I focused on what I wanted for next year, each piece began to fall into place beautifully, effortlessly. Slowly I can see the picture of this puzzle forming into something amazing. It's giving me purpose and hope for next year each time to visualize it. I'm really excited!

Since RELEASE, so many opportunities have been presented to me that I actually got distracted and maybe even a little off course. This call to silence has brought me back to my authentic truth, helped me get grounded and secure in who I am, what I'm called to accomplish and where I'm going and this time I'm intent on staying my course. Are you allowing the rush of the season and the end-of-the-year to cause you to get distracted and off course? If so, stop, take a deep breath, and regroup.

And finally, the most amazing thing that I've discovered about being still and silent is, silence is NOT empty. It's filled with life, truth, power, direction, clarity, and energy.

We live in a world that has conditioned us to keep moving and doing, doing and doing even more, which has unfortunately caused us to probably be more off course than we know. Yet, there is hope!

As you prepare for next year, make a commitment to yourself that you'll find 15 minutes a day (I suggest right before you go to bed) for the rest of the month of December and be silent. Remember to breathe, feel your spirit and your body, open yourself up and let silence be a greatest teacher.

To Your Highest Success,

Anita

Thats an amazing piece.

As i read it i could feel the strange connection to this crave for a silent time i have been experiencing take shape.

Silence like a weapon fights our worst battles.

God bless you.

Thank you Anita for the important reminder to Be Still. I think it is doubly important at this time of year, because the advertising, the media and our own agenda can make for stressed and over extended Beings.

You have written your message in a most beautiful and soothing way! Thank you for this gift.

In gratitude,
Lynette

Hi Anita,

Yes, you are so right. Be true to yourself first......
And even better, when we're true to ourself, we will serve all those around us even better.. those we love, care for, desire to serve in our business...

Amazing consequences and results. I love it.

Dear Dr. Anita,

Thank you soooo much for sharing your wisdom! ... :-x ...

"And finally, the most amazing thing that I've discovered about being still and silent is, silence is NOT empty. It's filled with life, truth, power, direction, clarity, and energy." (Emphases added.)

That is such a profound statement and it reflects what the great teachers who teach us to be "still" ... to "meditate" ... to "go within" ... It IS the message that too many of us miss in the hectic days we call "life" these days ...

Feeling totally exhausted after a couple of days in "classes" ... with another FULL day planned for today ... I have already decided as I "slept" last evening ... that I shall skip the evening class I had planned on attending ... I am much too exhausted ... I need to focus on my health first ...

So, thank you for this reminder ... FIRST thing in the morning ... what great wisdom to awaken to ... "Awaken to" ... OMG! ... :-D ... I believe it was Rebecca, but it could have been another BHW, I'll have to check ... who shared a blog post recently about just that ... about "awakening" ... Hmmmm ...

Thank you so much, Dr. Anita, for sharing such profound wisdom ... :-x ...

Aloha pume hana,

Barb

P.S. It was Bell Rushing who shared about "awakening" quoting Carl Jung ... someone I studied early in my young college days ... ;) ... but I apparently forgot or never really heard him ... Hmmmm ... And, dear Bell, isn't it curious that someone who speaks so profoundly about "awakening" to silence has a last name "Rushing" ... Thank you for that profound spiritual "chuckle" ... And, dear Audie, I glanced at your blog post this morning and saw the video I, too, consider one of my absolute favorite ... It was one of the FIRST videos about laughing ... children ... which went viral on the internet ... Thank YOU for sharing ... :-x ... I shall post to both Bell and Audie in a minute, but in my exhaustion, I had decided to be an "anonymous reader" as Kate once called us who read in silence with no acknowledgment ... ;) ...
Hi Anita,

It has been said that 'silence is golden'.
With your words of inspired reflection, I feel the great lessons to be learned when we are truly silent....take the time to breathe and feel our spirit.

Thank you for sharing., my BraveHeart Sister.
In Gratitude for YOU and your beautiful spirit...:-x
