Learn To Live In The Moment!

Posted Aug 11, 2009 11:26 AM
Mark Twain said, "I have been through some terrible things in my life, some of which actually happened." When I first read this quote I laughed because it so reflected the truth and wisdom of knowing that worrying about the past or fearing the unknown of the future, in truth, is pointless. You can't change your past and the fears of the future may never even come to pass. So the ultimate goal is, learn to live in the moment!

Living in the moment means, living like there is no tomorrow, laughing until it hurts, and loving fully and from the depths of your soul. Be here now. Be fully present with your body, soul and spirit.

Did you know that your soul consist of three parts? Your mind (what you think), your will (how you behave) and your emotions (what you feel). When you live from each part of your soul working together in unison, you'll have peace!

Each day make a conscious decision to be here now. I love this phrase "be here now" because it reminds me of the mall directories with a red dot showing that "YOU ARE HERE!" This dot gives you an exact location of where you stand. From that vantage point, you can see everything if you'll just stop and be.

Live Outrageously Well,

Anita

Hi BonnyMac,

Well, first off, I am honored that you've shared yourself with us and believe strongly you are definitely on your way. Much of our success really starts with our choice and mindset. Once that is confirmed, affirmed and solid within your soul and spirit, the rest WILL start to change for the better. Read yourself full and let yourself go!

Live Outrageously Well NOW!

I have been through terrible times in my life but continues to try to live a good life. I am very lucky for my children and the people in my life. I try very hard to stay optimistic but some days it is hard. I am at the moment trying to find work where I can work from home and with staying focused and working with the universe it will happen. I love to be around people but at this time in life I need the solitude. I am on a quest to find out where I should be at this time and working hard at it. I love the quotes I have read and will continue to read them for inspiration. If anyone has any thoughts to support my journey I would appreciate them.
thanks
Dear Anita,

My own red dot comes from a Staples store. When pressed upon, it says "That was easy!"

It keeps me present to the moment by reminding me that most of my struggle occurs when I'm tangled up in thoughts of the past such as "I should/could have," or thoughts of of the future such as "What if...?"

Hi Anita,

"I have been through some terrible things in my life, some of which actually happened." Love it!

Thanks for your thought provoking post. I know of certain people whom love to wallow in a past which invariably has been skewed to look/seem much worse than it actually was.

It would help to allow ourselves to reframe events in our minds but, it must be said, there is some comfort to be had by some by holding onto the past.

It is a shame indeed because they simply cannot move forward and appear to resent those whom can!

Best,

Chineme
Grazyna,

Amen sister, "Your mind (what you think), your will (how you behave) and your emotions (what you feel)"- we should be smart enough to know that -even a table need three legs for stability." I couldn't agree with you more. Well said!!
Hi Anita,

I love the image of the "red dot"...you are here. :)
We are right here...today - in the present (a gift)... yesterday is past and tomorrow is the future.
We can choose to take action today to make our tomorrow more meaningful.

Thank you for your inspiring and thought-provoking post...:)

Unfortunately, it is still a big challenge for most of us to balance our soul's split.
The red dot is a great reminder. :-x
Highly appreciated.

Lisa,

I'm so glad and honored that we've connected. You're in a good place, even in the midst of junk. Breathe, give yourself some grace and be here now!

Live Outrageously Well,

Anita
Hi Lana,

Loved your statement, "Yesterday has no meaning other than what I give it now. Tomorrow will have no meaning unless I take some action today." Amen!
Thank you for blessing me with your words. Everywhere I turn and everything I read these days all points in the same direction. I liken what I am going through now to when I do a really major clean up in my home. It can look worse in the middle of it then when I started. Yet the end result is always worth it. I feel these days like every negative thought I have ever had is rearing its ugly head, all at once some times. This is happening, I believe, because I have made the decision to raise my consciousness and live in the moment, to celebrate the Now. My mind and my pain body appear to be putting up some resistance. I stop and breathe until it passes. Then of course I log on here and read this!!!! There are no accidents and when I read something that renews my resolve I am one step closer to success.

I am very grateful to be here right now with all of you!

Peace and Blessings
Lisa
