Hello - I am Dr. Sugar, your Internet Doctor - bringing you just a moment of joy and wisdom on this beautiful Saturday. I am in the process of moving and in so doing have had to go through all my mementos, nic-nacs, and what nots that have been accumulating in my present place for the last seven years. As I was unpacking and moving stuff into my new office, I came across a packet of SUGAR. Now since "Sugar" is my name, I have been known, on occasion, to save really cool or unusual sugar packets from around the world. But this packet looked to be pretty normal until I turned it over and read the back side. It said.... "KISS YOUR CHILDREN.... NOT SO THAT THEY WILL KISS YOU BACK, BUT SO THAT THEY WILL KISS THEIR CHILDREN AND THEIR CHILDREN'S CHILDREN." Now I know why I kept it... what a profound thing to read on the back of a sugar packet. Thank you Dr Sugar for your awesome reminder. And they gave me 8 grands to kiss also and I tell them that they will never get too old.

Yes you are so right. Kiss them when they are little and keep kissing them as they grow older. I lost my mom in 2004 and I treasure all the memories of her holding me & rocking me as a child and of course the hugs and kisses that continued into adulthood were the best

Those small moments in time make the world of difference to a child.

Dr. Sugar,

I feel that is exactly what we as
BraveHeart Women should do, to
those of us who have children always
kiss them because this mean so much
to a child. A kiss can strenghten a child
so much. I make it a practice to kiss my
daughter everytime I see her and she is
grown now, but it doesnt matter. she still
need that love and affection coming from
me, her mother. Thanks for sharing

How true that is!!! As I too am in the moving process, my girls (3 & 4)are quite confused, and asking A LOT of questions.... I have found myself having to ground myself and find more patience.... stop and explain a lot more than normal.

And every chance I have got, kiss them and tell them how much I love them!

Yes - absolutely boys too. My son has been on a cruise to Alaska for the last week and every single port he stopped in he called his mom to tell me how much he loved me. I did not expect to talk to him the whole week since I wasn't sure about cell service on a ship in Alaska. I never asked him to call and in fact didn't even know he had his phone with him but it brought such a smile to my face and so much love and gratitude to my heart that my SON wanted to call me every chance he got.

Yes certainly a precious bond that I cherish. He is growing way too fast!

There is so much beauty- and simplicity in the same time- in this note.

I am going to translate it into Chinese and print it somewhere!
(Maybe not on the sugar packet, because it's not very popular here-people are very serious about their sugar intake-which the best amounts to "0". :-D

) I guess, on the green tea sachets it will work better...

My "young man" son....now 19 and 6'2"...still hugs and kisses me every time he goes out. It is a precious bond that I cherish.
