From the Mouth of Babes

Posted Jun 24, 2009 01:52 AM
I think all the Mom's in the community should start a list - we could publish it I am sure - of all the amazing things that come out of the mouths of their children.

I got the biggest laugh out of Crystal Jones blog a few days ago about her children moving to the big city.

These two may not be quite as funny but cute none the less. I was getting ready for work this morning and was in my bathroom. My 1 year old Malaya was playing in the dressing area outside of my bathroom. I could hear her but couldn't see her. I heard her sneeze. Then I heard the sweetest little 1 year old voice say... "Bless you Laya" She was perfectly capable of blessing herself. It was the most darling thing ever. :)

This evening I wanted to go for a bike ride after my conference call ended but it got very windy and looked like it was going to rain. My husband decided he wanted to watch a movie and the bedroom was calling my name... however I am on a mission of adopting a healthier lifestyle and daily exercise is a part of that goal. So since I had not yet had the opportunity to exercise today, I kissed my husband and youngest baby (who wanted to hang with her daddy) - and headed into our home gym. My two older children decided to come with me to "work out" ... Our gym consists of a treadmill, 2 body by jake thingies that I bought on some occasion when I was watching infomercials at 3:00 am and 7 different kinds of abdominizers - - if only your abs would respond to them being in your home - - like AB-OSMOSIS - - I wish - - I have all the machines - now I just have to use them - - come on six pack - - haha :)

Ok - so Mariah my six year old is doing much more playing than exercising and I kept getting on to her about being careful and not getting hurt on the machines - - so eventually she trips on the treadmill and gets her hand pinched on the side. Doesn't even break the skin - but does put a little black skid mark on the side of her hand and I am sure hurt quite a bit. I am giving her the "I told you to be careful" line as she is holding her hand - - she looks up totally sincere and says - -
"oh - mom - look you can feel my guts - - it feels like little round balls of guts inside there"

Oh my gosh - - as a teacher you must have the best stories ever! You';; have to share more! That is a good one - - yes if we could all continue to love as purely as a 1 year old and smile and play with the energy of a 6 year old, we would probably much happier and have smaller hips :)

Sugar!

Isn't their innocence simply incredible? Nothing better than children's genuine laughter and sincerity!

And when they "know" something, they state it with certainty. :) We all could learn a whole lot of valuable lessons from children! I am so grateful to have those two little smiling faces share their lives with me each and every day.

Especially this morning, my youngest Kelcee who is 3 climbed up into my bed this morning, her blanket in tow, snuggled up next to me as close as she could and whispered "Mom I'm gonna be your snuggle bug!":-x

Thank you for sharing and continuing to educate our awareness on the simple joys in life!!

With Love,
Crystal
Hi Sugar,

Thanks for the smile.. Your sharing reminded of something that happened many years ago when I was teaching grade one.

One day, having gone out for lunch, one of my students asked me what I had eaten.

Much to her surprise, I did not mention dessert...
Angela then asked me, Why was I not having something good like apple pie to finish off my lunch.

When I tried to explain that eating apple pie was not in my hips best interest, Angela simply stated matter of factly:

" I don't know what you are worried about. Apple pie is good for you because it is made with fruit."

If we could only keep looking at life that way - ALL is Good!
