A Real Pain in my Shoulder! Treatment #2 Acupuncture
5 Comments
Becky, I'll take you up on that therascope session next week in Scottsdale if it will fit in your little black doctor's bag You just made me laugh so hard I almost pee'd my pants - - picturing you walking into the glass door - - - sorry I know I shouldn't laugh but it was just so dang funny. I think the shoulder is getting a little better every day.... at least until the medicine wears off and then .... well I don't like to complain .... so we will just leave it at that. I trust that it will be in great shape for RELEASE next week. And if not that the dancing will do miracles to keep my mind off of it With Love, Wellness and Compassion, Dr. Sugar Would you like to join your Community Doctor? Merry Marie, I am a yoga fanatic - - and yes I love it so much! I haven't done it in two weeks since I injured the shoulder but will get back into it very soon. You bring up a good point.... as I was lying on the table with the needles in my body I kept telling my shoulder that it was a perfect shoulder, that I loved it unconditionally, that it has always done an excellent job for me as a shoulder and that I knew my amazing body had the ability to heal itself. I added that I was open to the healing taking place quickly and that I trusted that my body and my shoulder would accept the healing therapy being provided. I absolutely believe in the power of your thoughts and that you must wish your body well and love your body unconditionally! Thanks so much for the wisdom! With Love, Wellness and Compassion, Dr. Sugar Would you like to join your Community Doctor? Hey Dr. Sugar I feel for you! I have been seeing a chiropractor to get my shoulder and neck back in position. Too much heavy work around the ranch this summer! Of course walking into glass doors doesn't help! If I was closer in your area I would give you a session with my "therascope". It works wonders on muscles and pain relief. I do hope you will get better soon and your injury will heal, along with the assist of Dr. Perry and all the prayers for you from the women here in the community. Rebecca Hofeldt Horse Lovers - Free Spirit Hello. I feel your pain. I, too, have a left shoulder injury that I incurred in the summer of 2008. Not as glamorous as your experience (I was reaching under the bed for migrating dirty laundry) but maybe still similar. I haven't investigated acupuncture but have heard glowing reports from trusted friends. In reality, I knew I injured my shoulder because I had slipped off my yoga practice wagon. That has been my physical salvation. Still, I couldn't do yoga with my shoulder pain so didn't do much physical therapy at all and my shoulder just kept hurting and tightening up more and more from disuse. Last month I joined a gym and began lifting weights for the first time in my life. My shoulder was then at the 'stiff and unused for too long' stage. My trainer started me out slowly on light dumbbells. A month later, I am beginning to use the shoulder press machine. I am so excited! It has taken me over a year to recover on my own (no insurance) and only a month with a low-cost membership and targeted physical therapy. I tell my body cells everyday how much I love them and what a good job they are doing working together as a team to help each other and me keep on keeping on. Our cells are predominantly water so they are vibrating happily with my daily compliments. I really wish you the best and a rapid recovery. Shoulder injuries are no fun. Think good thoughts. Ask your healthy body cells to help out their injured sisters. It couldn't hurt! Don't know if you are into this level of alternative/complementary medicine but thought I'd pass it on along with my recommendation of trying a yoga practice when you are able, FYI. Ciao bella, Merry Marie Ouch............... Lisa C.
